1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

One doll is good enough!....or Is it?

Oct 22, 2009

    1. I don't even kid myself thinking I'll stop with one anymore

      resistance is futile :mwahaha

    2. I thought I'd only want one.
Then I bought one that wasn't really the one I wanted most (yeah that happens) and now I love her, but I still want the other one.
And I've seen at least four that I want to buy eventually.

    3. i thought one is enough, but never knew i would like to own soo many and surprising to see how fast they multiply with every new release and ability of getting the older versions, too'

    4. I thought that my girl would be the only one, because a few years ago, getting a buff tall boy doll for her boyfriend was almost impossible. And when Iplehouse released the most perfect body for me, it made me want to get more dolls of my other characters.

    5. Nooooo. NEVVERRRR!

    6. I never even thought "just one"! I ordered my first two together, and I'm thinking about ordering a third before they've even arrived . . . I guess that's what happens when you're unexpectedly given a large sum of money :D (though I did save up for the first two on my own . . .)

    7. I felt that there would absolutely be no way that I would ever get even one! Then I did, and I was so happy that I figured I would never go beyond that. However, I am now in the process of getting a third, and I know for sure about two more I will be getting some time next year..:sweat
      It never ends!!.

    8. That..yes..I started off thinking the same way too. Then..I found a doll that suited one of my characters and they were going off at 2-for-1 at Customhouse..so I got her and her twin..then I found ANOTHER doll that suited the character better. To top it all off I was randomly trawling and thinking it would be so nice to have a doll of my favourite character..but no sculpt would suit him. Pfft. Less than a month later..I found him..and now he'll demand his lover..so..uhh yeah 5 dolls and 1 in planning. T.T It's going downhill from here.

    9. I did think that I would only want one, and I would get heaps of stuff for it, but then I found DoA and all the other dolls and knew I would want more. That failed completely, and now I can't ever see myself not wanting and buying more dolls :XD:

    10. One a month?!
      Yeh, I can do that!

    11. Gah! I think I've spent as much on clothes, wigs, eyes, etc., for my first doll (who isn't even here yet) as I did on the doll itself. I have a hard time thinking about buying a second doll. Maybe in a year or two or three ....

    12. Oh, my, is this the truth. It is like the potato chip commercial bet you can't just eat one, bet you can't have just on doll!!! I enjoyed this thought you shared with us.

    13. At first, when I saved up for Emma, it took four years to get committed to doing it.

And I said, once I get this doll, I'll be fine. After all I've had to go through...blah, blah, blah.

Suddenly, a month later, I want a boy doll that encompasses a character I just thought up one day. Now, I want another girl doll that looks more 'Asian', and also has a cute, j-pop-style wig... Meanwhile, all I have is around $30 saved up so far.

    14. I think it's different for everyone, but it does take some pretty good self control to only have one. As soon as I got my first I already planned on another, they're just so awesomely beautiful. I think I'd have a cut off, I'm very picky so I'd eventually run out of dolls I like and money to buy them. My friend and I are determined that our absolute maximum that we would never ever go over is 10, but you never know xP

    15. I've decided that I only want one big BJD and one small BJD......buuuuuuuut, I've only had my first doll for three days so we'll see how long that decision lasts. XD

    16. I knew from the beginning that I wasn't going to just have one. I roleplay, I can't keep with just one character. But, for the most part, I still love them all the same (a few minor exceptions). And I can't have a story with just one character. But did I plan on having 2 in just about... 5 months? No. Did I think I would be contemplating on a 3rd before I even get one home? No. So though I did plan on having more dolls... I didn't think I would be so obsessive that I would have have 2 (maybe 3) before 6 months has passed.

    17. It's hard to restrain yourself once you get your first one; I suppose financial matters can affect the number of doll your get, but that's what saving up is for > u>;;

    18. At first I thought I'd only want just one, due to both price and lack of knowledge about different types/companies. Now that I've seen the wide variety and beauty of so many dolls out there, I fear I'll end up with many. *chuckle* And I don't mind that at all. I look forward to a steadily growing family. :)

    19. Pft. I knew from the start I wouldn't stick with just one. On the other hand, I've also known all this time that I'm stuck with just one due to serious budget restrictions, so I only have one, and unless fortune smiles on me in the form of prize money or some sort of doll giveaway, I probably won't be getting any more additions to my doll family until I graduate from college next December. It's going to be a long wait. . . Good thing these dolls are so interactive and customizable!

    20. Honestly, I thought I would never even get one doll. They did appeal to me a bit when my friends got their first BJD (SD I think?), but I only knew of those. I didn't know there was much more variety to the dolls, and then I saw my friend's Pipos Limited Edition Charlotte. My interest was piqued, and boom. I've looked through so many dolls and found many that I like. I have yet to get my first doll, but I already have a wishlist. I feel it's more that yes, one doll is amazing to have and just to do everything with that doll, but at the same time... things seem like they would be more fun with a doll family. XD
