1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

One doll is good enough!....or Is it?

Oct 22, 2009

    1. I don't think one is not enough. The doll will be lonely without any friends :p

    2. One is not enough because I have close to 45 characters in my half of the story I'm writing out with my friend to begin with.
Plus one holds just so many customization options... I love customizing and playing around with new dolls.

    3. im not sure, cause i don't have only one doll. sometimes i cannt control myself to buy a new doll....

    4. I just own a doll and it was just so much work to get her that I though that a second one will be impossible. However I just "met" a lovely doll out there that I just instantly fell in true love...but I don't know If I will get her, because when I think about it I feel sorry for my first doll :(
Also I'm afraid that I will like the new one more :...(

    5. Of course I wanted only one!

BJDs weren't so popular when I started, so I didn't know anyone else who would pay so much for a doll, and I'd never seen one before, and buying was difficult because companies didn't have English websites, or ANY websites, and only took bank transfers as payment...

Anyway, I convinced myself that I would get only one and maybe one or two outfits and would be very happy.

About 2 months later I bought another doll!!!! *_*

    6. i will soon find out myself:) i have one that was bought last month and in transit now. i told myself i will only get two (boy and girl) but.......we will see^^

    7. Last March I bought an MSD girl One doll is enough, right??
Then well, she needed a boyfriend.
And then I saw a YOSD with cat ears.
After that, I couldnt resist a tiny.
A friend on a forum sold me her SD 63cm.
Well, he needs a friend and so this month I bought her other 70cm.....
All this in exactly one year.
      Eeeek!!

    8. I thought one doll I can take only one doll I'm not gonna be one of those collectors.

Two years and going on TEN dolls...(Mostly OT fashion dolls but still) Yeah I don't think one MSD is gonna be enough and there's still a Yo-SD I wanna buy to be the character of my boy's little sister...And I love the RS Rong in grey skin....

      E'yup hooked.

    9. I'm right in the middle of that actually lol. I'm debating whether I want one or not. Part of me wants another one, the other part is good with just one. I guess we'll find out once my doll comes in.

    10. At fist I didn't think about that but now, want a whole lotta dolls. I think it'll make me more happier. ~

    11. I don't think one doll is enough for me. I think I might purchase another someday in the future. The craftsmanship of the dolls just calls to me.

    12. I always knew I would want more than one. I love Dionne with all of my heart but I am already looking at a million other sculpts that I want to add to my family. My husband has two dolls currently, one of which he is trying to trade, and wants plenty more.

I don't think there ever was a time where we looked at each other and said, "one is enough." Since the beginning we have both wanted so many different sculpts from different retailers.

    13. I think one doll is enough for me. I'm in med school right now and honestly, my free time is limited. And the expenses for a doll (wig, clothes, shoes, eyes, etc) can be very costly. After I get my first doll, I will then concentrate on toy photography so I won't get tempted on getting one.

    14. I don't think I ever thought there'd only be one doll in my life. I've been a collector of various types of dolls for a long time, and in my mind there's no such thing as 'just one is enough'. I got my first BJD in 2009, and while he was the only BJD I had for about a year, I always envisioned more coming into my household. Four years and 20 dolls later, I can definitely say I was right from the beginning. One was not enough. ;)

    15. Well this is a funny subject; some of us know from the start that we would have more than one doll... For instant I bought two Minifee’s when I first started my BJD family. :) But the worst is when you get someone else started. In my house only one person can have a certain hobby, so I of course took on the hobby of collecting BJD’s. As a surprise I bought my sister a Littlefee for her birthday and now she wants more… Well, one more… But let’s face it that’s how it starts.

    16. My wallet says yes but the collector in me says HELL NO. I just like having a variety of anything. So having a number of dolls works for me. I have one (or more) in all the normal categories (1/12, 1/6, 1/4, 1/3, 70cm). And for me its not because they need companions. Yes I really like my dolls and some of them have back stories but their still just dolls. They're inanimate objects that dont have emotional or physical needs.

    17. I like to pretend and photograph. Unfortunately, I have every doll I ever bought, which amounts to quite a collection, since I have been collecting for over 30 years. No maybe 40. I have totally evolved from American Girls to Doll Chateau, with tons in between. So if I ever thought I would have just one, it is a very very dim memory!

    18. Whatever hobby i get into, 1 is never enough.

    19. At first (like, befor I join the forum) yes, I always thinking to buy only one doll.
But now... ahhhh @__@ more time I spend organizing my first doll, more I'm sure I'll buy another (and another... and another...) >__<
Like "Mhm, that face really don't suit her... BUT mayyybe will be perfect for that other character... let's search a body for this other character"
*sigh* my wallet it's hating me.

    20. When I learned about BJDs I never understood why people would spend so much money on dolls. Two years later I caved and bought my Pukifee Luna and decided that she would be the only one knowing what BJDs cost. Two years later I own 50+ dolls. One doll definitely is by far not enough :sweat
