ONLY buying Male & ONLY buying Female Dolls

Jun 9, 2010

    1. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
For now I only have one.. but I dont think Ill ever buy Female dolls.. I dont have a specific answer as to why I only want males..
I also like drawing.. I draw a LOT but in contrary to dolls I can only draw females TAT.. maybe theres something wrong with me lol :sweat

If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?
      No

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?
      YES! :D

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?
uhmm.. maybe.. if its something like luts delfs, maybe ill consider it

    2. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
I only buy female dolls. The reason being I am female and I am not really one to dress a boy. Just not for me, I guess. Also, because I would'nt know how to have a photoshoot with a guy doll. I guess I could learn.

If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?
I do consider this on a regular basis but in the end I realize I'm just more of a girl doll person.

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?

The sex of the doll does'nt really matter too much to me besides what I already said (photoshoot problems, etc.) I more look for the design and the maker.

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?

I probably would..if it looks like a girl, I could get a girl body and put the head on that girl body. No problem!

    3. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
So far I've only bought female dolls, at first because I just prefered female dolls to male dolls, and I wanted to get my girl characters first before getting any of my boys.

If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?
      Yes.

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?
It did at first, but not anymore.

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?
I have indeed considered doing this, I may still do it when I have more money saved up.

    4. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
Yes, I have only girls. I love girly and frilly dresses (which is weird, since I hated wearing those when I was young!), and I also love designing and sewing dresses.

If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?
Yes, but in order for me to buy a boy doll, he would have to be cute and baby-like so that I can still make him frilly clothes.

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?
I don't think it's about the sex, but the overall presentation of the doll - faceup, clothes, expression, etc.

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?
Yes, I have done so in the past.

    5. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
Well, as of current, I don't own anydoll. But I can confidently say, yes, I will only buy the boys. For some unknown reason, I am only interested in the male dolls. I've seen plenty pretty girls and I do like them very much, however, somehow not enough for me to want to own them.

If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?
No. Not at all. I'm only interested in 1/3 boys.

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?
I think so. I want to build a reverse harem.
Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?
No. I can always get a more feminine sculpt instead.I still prefer boys.

    6. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
Well, I like male dolls more then I do female dolls, and I have male characters, so naturally I would choose males over females.
If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?
yes I would, but my reasons would probably be to mod them into males.
Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?
depends on the context of that question, I prefer the male body over the female body in that aspect.
Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?
yes I probably would do that. because of the sculpts are appealing to me.

    7. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
I have a mixed group. I appreciate both genders.

If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?
      n/a

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends on the sculpt, both face and body.

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?
Yes, I would put an effeminate male head on a female body to get a stronger more mature looking doll. I have also been known to cross dress my male dolls to get more mileage out of them. Those with a soft pre-pubescent look work really well for that.

    8. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
Yes, I want a good art doll with decently accurate muscle ref, and female dolls have no muscle. -_-

If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?
No, I myself am female, so if I need ref for a female, I'd look in the mirror.

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?
      Not the sex, the body.

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?
Sure, why not. It's the body that matters. :O

    9. I have both male and female dolls. I love to have both represented in my collection because, for me, it seems more rounded. I love to have both in scenes together as well as all girls and all boys. I love to see how they relate to each other.

    10. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
I only buy females, just never been interested in males.
If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?
It'd really have to be something special to sway me.
Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?
Definitely. I prefer the female form, not to mention clothing etc.
Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?
If it were the right face, then sure.

    11. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
I only have one doll right now, a female. I've purchased another doll just recently, and it is a male, but I'm going to make it a female. What I do is embody my favourite characters, and while all of my biggest, most favourite characters are female, I don't think that means I'll never own a male doll. I just don't yet.

If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?
Yes, but it depends on the characters I want to portray

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?

Abstractly, no. I don't think that I just prefer female dolls. I'm looking to fill a specific roll when I buy a new doll. If I'm looking to make a female character, but I see a male doll with the perfect face, I might buy it.

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?

Absolutely. The doll I bought just this week is a male, but I intend to make it female. It's a Pukifee, so they're kind of gender undefined in their body shape anyway. The character I wanted to create is not a child, but in choosing a Pukifee for her I see it more as a chibi or super deformed version. I think the Shiwoo face is supposed to look mischievous, which is why I chose it. None of the female Pukifee faces fit this character at all.

As a side note, I discovered B&Gs Old World dolls yesterday, and I fell head over heels for their male Dark Elf, but he's tooooo big for my Drow girl. :(

    12. I ONLY buy girl dolls as I love to sew and boys clothes are no fun for me. I also only like 'girl' looking dolls, not sexy or in anyway muture looking faces . I do have a Bobobie Mei and I was very disapointed when I saw her breasts. I guess I just like making the girls stuff as it seems more creative and less hindered than makeing boy clothes. And I almost bought a LF Rachel with a boy body because it was in stock and I go mad waiting. With clothes you can't see the diffrence in the little kid bodies anyway but I decided agains the LF because I really wanted a diffrent face. If it does come up on a boy body I would take it.

    13. I only like girls. However, the first doll that really jumped out and grabbed me was a DZ MALE Aleister clockwork faceup Xeix. I actually want to hybrid him with a female doll. It's weird, though, I keep liking boy face-sculpts and wanting to put them on girl bodies! (I love curves, breasts, and... you know... ) So yeah, only girls, technically. ;3

      EDIT:

Weird, now I have two full-boys and one full-girl, not hybrided at all. I don't know why but I kinda like boys more. *shrug*

    14. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you? I have a skew towards females, but I buy both.

If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you? Not really. It's all in the face and what I personally see for the doll.

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)? Good lord, yes. I have three "male" heads that ended up being gorgeous women (and you'd never know), because I like the slightly stronger look that a "male" head gives and can give the female doll that much more maturity. I also have a genderless-bodied anthro that the creator always saw as male, but I turned it into an adorable female.

    15. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?

Nope! I buy both chicks and dudes. ;)

If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?

      N/A

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?

Even though I own dolls of all genders, I do find that I prefer male sculpts.

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?

Sure, I'd swap heads. Done it before and I'll do it again if need be. Right now I own a BBB Ariel head (created as a "girl" sculpt) on a boy body.

    16. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
Now I only have male dolls. Actually, I'll buy female doll many times, but I don't have chance to buy it. I think it because purple blood in my body OTL

If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?
      Yes, many times

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?
      Yes!

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?
No I thought. But I very interest in male doll that have face like a girl.

    17. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
I buy both. It never occured to me to just buy one type. I find both genders to have their own aesthetics that attract me, though currently my boys are outnumbering the girls (but I'm working towards evening out their numbers ;) )

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?
It's more the sculpt, rather than the gender.

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?
Well, I just bought a Migidoll Jina, and though she's a female sculpt I know a lot of collectors have a predilection to turn her male. But she definitely fits one of my female characters so I'm hoping that the girl body I bought would fit her proportionally and resin-wise.

    18. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
i do. i buy only male dolls. i like their faces better.

If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?
IH luna is the only female doll i would buy, because of her nice face.

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?
no. the face is most important. if i don`t like the face, i would never buy the doll.

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?
not really. if i bought a woman head, i would look for a nice female body.

    19. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
I haven't purchased mine yet but I have had only the desire to purchase females thus far. I just think girls are more...lovely...and if I'm going to be spending that kind of dough I want it to be on something that is the highest tier of attractive to me. And with the already-slim pickings so far as happiness goes in dolls I don't think I'm gonna find much of interest in the male spectrum. Not to mention my primary enjoyment will probably be making clothes for her, and lady-outfits are generally much easier to make and more interesting.

If you do, would you consider ever buying the opposite gender of doll?
Maybe if I become wealthy and already have all the female ones I want.

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?
In that the appealing ones are pretty much always female? I guess? So at this point I generally don't even bother looking at male ones.

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?
If it was soft and sweet and happy. Sure.

    20. Do you only buy one sex of doll? Why do/don't you?
I started with buying a male doll, but I also have female dolls. At the moment I have 3 boys and 2 girls (3rd is coming soon).

Does the sex of a doll make them more appealing to you?
I personally love my boys more than my girls. Of cause I love wonderful up-do or wavy pigtail wigs, lace dresses and flower adornment. I can't deny their beauty.
The only reason I can find for prefering male dolls is that I am a girl ...

Would you ever buy a head of the opposite sex to use on the doll (maybe because it looks like the opposite gender)?
I don't think so. Sometimes I am captivated by a (a bit) female looking guy but I would never put him on a female body or the opposite way around.
