Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Oops, did I just buy that?

Jul 28, 2010

    1. I just did that this week (。-_-。) i saw a soom shale in the marketplace and even thought i just bought a heliot from the post MD sale back in october from soom and signed for a home loan (is moving in the next two months) i messaged the seller and am paying for my first msd size doll in a land of sds... Not that ill have anything for him when he gets here (~_~; (no eyes,cloths,or wig)

    2. I guess, in their own ways, all of my doll purchases (after the very first one) have been a bit impulse-y. I was supposed to wait a full year with my first bjd before buying any others (I bought two more after that, and have two in the works right now...) I caught onto the end of this summer event Illusion Spirit was having, (my reasoning being "I'll be making a doll for this character anyway, buying this exact doll at some point, sooo...") THEN I found the DZ Shoyo girl I wanted on the MP, for a second-hand steal, so picked her up. Started a layaway for another boy a couple months back.. Bought a head for another girl, and may have just found a body here on the MP for her... and so forth. xD

      Don't regret them. Just didn't think I'd be pinballing so much! :lol

    3. I couldn't do that, since I have to save money for every doll. And when I accidentally clicked on "buy" and didn't pay within 7 days or so, then I wouldn't actually buy it, anyway. At least most companies have this policy.

    4. LOL yes this is so me! I just dropped $100 and shipping on two pairs of Dollshe eyes...ooops

    5. Eh heh. :sweat

      Guess who just dropped a wad of cash on a B&G Nailo elf on eBay? >>;;

      I have six months to pay him off, though, so it's not so bad. :)

    6. the only BJD's that stayed with me are both impulse buys! My ante was a market place buy when i saw her for a VERY low price at the time. I had to do a quick layaway because i really didn't have the money. My luna is the same story, but I saw her at DDE when luna's where hard to find on the market place(not that they aren't now). I may have regretted the lack of money at the time, but I've never seriously regretted buying them.

    7. I don't think I know many people who haven't bought something on impulse :eusa_sile

      Actually my first boy was kinda impulse. First I was like that would be nice and next I was asking shipping price :sweat (He's been bought here on DoA) ... Also my Yosd was a bit "I wasn't suppose take that too..."

      These happen :mwahaha

    8. all of mine are impulse ... some of them are " i want a tiny to be a friend to Kana... " and some are " OMG LIMITED EDITION MUST HAVE" lol although there was one.. that, he, just needed a home.. and i could not, just ignore him...

    9. My first doll (recently received) was planned out, mulled over, and put on layaway for months. But my Lusis head was super duper impulse. I'd loved the sculpt since first seeing it. When I saw that yoake was selling hers, I had to have it. I promised my mom I'd wait at least a year before getting another doll, but suddenly I had a floating head and am searching for a body for her! I saved up enough money over the summer to buy any doll I wanted, and ended up with a less expensive one anyway, because I loved her. I don't think it's bad to impulse buy if it is something you love AND you have the funds for it.. ^-^

    10. My Jeremy was like that. Saw him. Haven´t the money. Sleep a night. Look a the pictures again and ordered him on layaway.
      Dunno know why because he isn´t a limited but i want him so badly that i can´t resist...
      Fexy was similair to that. I just saw him and ordered him 3 days later. But his small price (not really cheap but its a amound which i can spend in a month for my hobbies) allowed to pay him full.

    11. I buy dolls second hand, and throughout the process sometimes I kind of go through it, and then once the doll's paid for and on his or her way I'm thinking: "Oh no, I just bought another one - and I said I wouldn't!" I wouldn't say it's remorse so much as, "Oh damn, I've done it again!". I love all my dolls though. Even the impulse-buy ones. ^^

    12. Yeah, most my dolls are impulse. Actually my very first doll was impulse. I've never used money, I didn't had though, so I've never regretted anything. But I'm also a big fan of SOOM dolls, and with limited dolls comes a limited period, so you kinda have to buy it, when it's there. Luckily layaway are much more common nowadays. I use layaway a lot for many reasons. Mostly because it allows me to not use too much money at the time.

    13. I no longer tell me self I'm not buying another doll...
      When ever I say that.... I always buy another doll...
      Usually more then one. ( :

    14. Honestly, I think 90% of my doll purchases are impulse. If I have the money and I want it enough, I purchase it. Sometimes this does lend to me selling the doll however. It probably doesn't help that after 6 yrs in the hobby, I still don't have a doll I can call a grail doll.

    15. Impulse buy dolls? I sure as hell have! My first doll a Dollzone Yi (discontinued sculpt btw) is what got me into this hobby in the first place was a impulse buy. I bought him off ebay about 2-3 days later he was here at my house. Talk about fast shipping from China! My Second doll was a Bobobie Weylin (don't even see them listed much at all) was a impulse buy after coming into some Christmas money from family. I bought him from Junkyspot. 2-3 days later he too was at my house. My Third doll a Fantasy Doll Kemi came from right here in the Marketplace! Total impulse as well! My Fourth doll a Littlefee Dark Elf Soo came into my life after roaming...you guessed it! The DoA Marketplace once again! I have since sold her. I just couldn't get her to work for me. My Fifth Doll a Soom Mini Gem Garam that I'd been pinning after for quite awhile and finally obtained from the marketplace also just didn't click with me at the end. She has been rehomed as well. Now, I've bought a White Skinned Minifee Dark Elf Soo Head (sleeping), which I plan on eventually modding to be open-eyed and get her a body. So, yes! I have done my fair share of damage! I really need to stay away from the marketplace...but I know that will never happen. I guess, it means tighter hold on the purse strings!

    16. My Valhalla was sort of an impulse buy??? I'd been planning on getting the sculpt at some point, but had also been planning to buy a camera. Finally payday came and well...guess who won haha! MoC had him in stock and before i knew it i had bought him. ; v;
      And of course my little Sparrow was an impulse buy too. Was lurking about the tiny marketplace several days ago and he just called to me. U vU He should arrive home tomorrow!

      I don't regret either of them(even though i still haven't gotten a new camera XD ), new family members are always welcome!

    17. My parents controls what I buy so I can't buy on impulse. If I can, I would've gotten an Aurora and Lahela already!!

    18. I just impulse bought a bobobie pixui. I'm not a huge fan of bobobie[no offense ; ;] but he was just too cute to turn down.

      Luckily it wasn't a terribly expensive impulse buy. xD

    19. Welll....I broke my new years resolution not to buy dolls this year within the first 4 days of the year... or doesnt a body for a floating head count as a doll?

    20. LOL! (My New Years resolution was to buy more dolls!)
