1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Opinions about Obitsus - Pros and Cons?

Sep 3, 2006

    1. I suppose you're right, I just hate waiting and saving up ><
I have a 27cm obitsu and if the 60cms are anything like that then they must be pretty stiff...That's why I don't like the way they are jointed

    2. If you don't like them, why would you even buy one?

I love mine and would recommend it to anyone. George isn't stiff at all.

      Disassembly instructions
should show you how everything goes together.

    3. I don't really dislike them. I don't dislike any doll :sweat I just like certain things on other dolls better. though I really am considering getting one now that I've gone through all of the info that I've gotten. they don't seem bad at all.

    4. Fingers do not need to be separated as they don't make them closed anymore. :)

The hands and feet just connect like everything else, I have ordered a pair of DD hands to see if they are interchangable, but I can't do that writeup until I have them.

    5. Oh well that's a good thing :) separating or sanding or any modding scares me ;o; they're so delicate
You'll have to show me some pictures once you get your hands in.:aheartbea

    6. Figure 2 on my page clearly shows the hands themselves.

    7. the link from sgtgeorgecarter shows how the hands connect. I just wanted to know if it was the same way as 27cm obitsus

    8. can anyone tell me the size of the obitsu 60 cm heads is? I just bought one off ebay in order to use as a model to make wigs- and the head measure 7"- it seems to be MSD sine and way too small to be SD.

Is this right? s this what they put on 60 cm bodies? surely it would look way out if porportion? Or have I been miss sold? I know they don't do msd size bodies!

      anyone help?

    9. George has a Haruka head and yes it's 7/8. I don't think he's out of proportion in any way.

The default head is 9 ish inches as I recall.

    10. thank you, I have PM'd you, I hope you don't mind!

Still seems really small to me, especially when most SD size heads seem to 9/10 " DO you have to buy msd size wigs for them?
      xx

    11. And answered.
      ;)

      Yes, George wears msd wigs.

    12. The Obitsu body is slender. The default head is 8" ( I just measured it). My Haruka head is 7 7/8" and looks really well proportioned to the shoulders IMO. I've been told the 60-011 head takes 8/9 wigs. Sometimes it looks proportional to me and sometimes it looks too big. It seems to depend on the hair & clothing styles people put on it.
Of course, my CP boys have heads of varying size. El's is
      9 1/4 and Yder's is 8 3/4.

    13. The Haruka and Gretel heads are 7/8. They look more "realistic" than the bigger heads, but it's all what kind of look you like. These two heads are beautiful, though. And you can't beat the posability of the Obitsu bodies.

    14. I am won over! I have a liking of the dollfie style so it was a shock to see such a small head LOL!

got to look for a cheap body now! **will be lurking in market place**

I have hears they are great for poseability!
      xx

    15. I have an Obitsu and love her. I plan to get more in the future. I think there would be many people who would be intereste in clothing made for them. I know I would.

    16. I am really interested in Obitsu and DD but really would like to see one in person before I go and buy one >.<

    17. I really like the Gretel head... but those bodies. I dunno about those bodies. So very, very "fashion doll"... I like BJDs BECAUSE they don't have figures that are quite as ridiculous.

    18. If you'll scuse a newbie? :) I was just wondering - for those who have a resin head on a vinyl Obitsu body, does it affect the balance at all? does it make the doll top heavy with the heavier head or is there not much difference?

      thanks :)

      Sue

    19. It doesn't affect my girl. I had kind of wondered the same thing when I first got Sukiko her obitsu body, but she doesn't seem to have any balancing problems.
