Ordering many dolls at once?

Nov 29, 2007

    1. babachu that's my case :P I was saving for 2 realpukis from months (almost 1 year) and I'm still saving, but in the meantime I saved too much for only 2 dolls and now I can get 4 :D and I prefer to buy them all at once cause they're sooo discontinued :/

    2. Indeed that is the case for me most of the time.
Turns out having one doll per year is pretty much impossible for me after all lol.
Having the right amount funds saved at the right time is always wonderful thing!

    3. Buying two dolls months apart or just hours apart, I don't see how it would make a difference in how I bond with them. :D

    4. I think buying many at once is much nicer then one here and then maybe another there...
Just get em if you want em.... and when you want em... You may go months not wanting
another.. then BOOM.... you want 5-6 at the same time.... Right now... that's me. ( :

    5. To me, the 'arrival of a doll' is...well...a very special day for the doll. It is finally home and wants love. To have to share the spotlight, I think the dollie will be sad. u_u Dunno, I just think of it as a special day, for that certain doll, so I'd never like two dolls to be ordered or arrive on the same day u~u Of course if it's a limited or getting discontinued, there's no helping it, but...still...as much as I can avoid it, I'd like to avoid it u_u

    6. I don't have something against ordering many dolls at once or otherwise. I believe its up to every person to decide what to do with their dolls and how close to each other they'd like to order them. Personally I had had no such issue up to this day but I'd like to keep myself from doing it as long as i can. I recently cut my doll wishlist in half out of fear of getting too many dolls; wanting them and getting them, as well as getting them at once are completely different things but its not my place to tell someone how many is too many.

    7. I think it's no difference if we're ordering one or more dolls. If it can give us happy everything is all right :D
For first time I ordered two dolls and it was great feeling when I opened the box and saw two lovely dolls ^^ Moreover waiting is double fun : )

    8. I think this is just another one of those individual things that's different for everyone. Personally I seldom purchase more than one doll at a time because I want to savor the receipt of a new member of my doll family and take time to get to know them. Buying in bunches...well, that just wouldn't suit me. But hey, whatever suedes your joints. ;)

    9. If you can afford a lot of dolls at once, why not? I don't see anything bad at all!

    10. Well I don't even have my first doll yet but ordered 3 (almost 4, just need the confirmation) dolls nearly at once. It was because I looked at so many companies that I felt the urge to have different sizes and styles.
In my opinion the money is they only disadvantage. Spent all my savings for dolls, even though I'm new to the hobby, but I think it's worth it.
I've only ordered dolls I fell in love with at first sight, and there's a lot of time until they arrive - I don't even know who will arrive first.

    11. i really like to have one in the works- on the way or being paid for- and others I thinking about. so for me its about not having a void of new things happening. However sometimes when I think there will be a sell out or discontinued doll, i just grab more than one if i have the funds. I fall in love with just about all the dolls i receive and even my less favorite have a home with me.

    12. well if you have enough money and can order dolls more then 1 - 2 and really really think about this i think its okay ^^

i my self also planning to buy a twins even though my friends told me to order them one at a time but then it wont be 'twins' anymore ~

even though i read somewhere there's some people disagree by ordering doll more then one at once , because most of the people just ignored all the house bills just because their too addicted to this hobby ~

and i don't think the bonding will be the issue because when i first got my boy we bond right away just like that but he dishonest with himself and sometimes (now still)

    13. I personally don't think I would want to order two or more dolls at once. I really want to bond with my dolls when they arrive and spend some time with them before getting another. :) Although I don't disagree with it, it's entirely based on what you do with your dolls.

    14. The only thing that should stop you from buying more than one doll at once-finances fully covered/not involved-is *you*.

I see no moral or ethical reason why you shouldn't buy more than one doll. I'm actually considering saving to buy the two girls I want from Dollzone (Una and Gretta) at the same time to save on shipping in the long run. Sure, I'll be saving a lot longer, but I'm willing to do that. I don't think it will keep me from bonding with the dolls at all since Una is just going to be a "look pretty" sort of doll and Gretta is going to shell out an established character.

    15. I don't see there's anything wrong with ordering more than one doll at once. At least, that's what I've been doing these past couple of Volks dolpa. As long as it's a doll that I like and I can afford it, I buy it. I never have trouble bonding with them. :)

    16. I don't think that there's anything ethically wrong with buying multiple dolls at once. I'm guilty of it! Bonding hasn't been an issue either.

    17. As per the clarification modification on the original post, if financial funds isn't a question, is it morally or ethically wrong? I don't see why. I am guilty of actually relatively near three-in-one. I ordered three at the beginning of the year and two came in this week, the third will arrive in about a month. Honestly, quite opposite of the inability to bond. There's some less-than-happy history behind one of the two that came in and I can't say I'd have it any different than what happened. Having them both arrive days apart, waiting to then open both at the same time, I was actually afraid I'd remember the past experience too much and it'd continue unfairly into the new one but instead, these two haven't been apart since. I'm glad they came together, now it's just a matter of will the third one blend in as easily but I really do think so because of similarities to each of the first two.

      Moral / Ethic
Opinions, everybody has them. Likewise, remember, dolls are ultimately inanimate objects and thusly even if time isn't spent equally, it's not like getting a pet and "abusing" it by not feeding it for weeks at a time. If financially it's possible, without causing other life hardships, remember, if ultimately a doll isn't desired after its arrival, it can always be put through MP or other channels. Buying multiple, my own personal experience, is like letting the whole family be together at once.

    18. I don't find a problem with other people doing that.

But I would not, because then I wouldn't feel like the dolls are equally special and unique, because I haven't waited and longed for them for as long time as I have with a doll I ordered alone.
I wouldn't feel like I have the time to open their boxes and really treasure the moment, taking the doll in for the first time, because they would be more then one.

For me, the doll wouldn't feel as special, loved and treasured as any other doll.
So I'd rather order them one at a time. And only have one on its way home at a time.

    19. LOL I'm glad to find I'm not the only one who did this oTZ Jumped in on a group order for my first doll, then shelled out money for my second half a month later. I felt guilty for spending so much almost at once, but I suppose at least I didn't splurge on two IH dolls or something in the same order. Aside from that...

I don't think there's anything wrong with it, as long as you can afford to pay for all your other essentials after that. Buying new dollies shouldn't be more important than paying for rent and food after all!

    20. Usually I prefer to order one at a time, the exception being company events or spend x amount and get free shipping.

My last ordering fitting under both categories since I bought 3 dolls from Fairyland during the 10% off event and got free shipping and an event head, otherwise I probably would have bought them 1 at a time over a year or so.
