1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Ordering many dolls at once?

Nov 29, 2007

    1. I dunno about bonding. I'm sure I could bond with two dolls at once...
But I simply couldn't do two box openings so close together.... All the excitement in that would be over. :3

I'd rather get one, enjoy the thrill of the wait, of the box opening, of making them my own... And theeeen order the next doll.

I may order two close together, though, if one company has a longer wait time than another.

    2. I always end up buying dolls in pairs I reassure myself saying that I was going to get that other doll anyways in the future so why not save on shipping ;)

    3. I think it's better that I order my dolls separately and have some bonding -time with everyone until I start plan/search to get more. It's much more fun to sew clothes first and when the doll arrives, I can dress him/her up fabulous and start to make new clothes for the next doll and so on.. It'd be also harassing if I have many dolls without faceups at the same time..

    4. I order according to my finances. I have to have the doll in front of me to sew and knit, so I can fit the item. Also, I have to get an idea of his/her personality to pick a pattern and fabrics. But that's just me, I am very visual.

    5. I kinda splurged to start off my collection. I bought Nina, Moira and Ciarre within weeks of each other and they all arrived within a few weeks of each other as well so it was kinda hard to bond with them. I'm still trying to bond with Ciarre but that's because she's a little larger than I'm comfortable with.

I do regret getting them all so quickly, I'm learning to enjoy the build up of excitement when I've got one on the way and almost paid for. The girls at work are probably sick of "omg! Only a couple more payments left!" and the LTF Chloe pic on my computer screen lol, but I'm really appreciating that I can get excited about one at a time rather than trying to be bouncing about all of them at once.

    6. As long as you are sure you would like each of the dolls you're getting (and are not settling on a doll you're going to be unhappy with later on), I don't see the problem, provided that you have the funds. My dolls are all from the same family anyway, so purchasing them within a few months of each other seemed appropriate. Just go with whatever makes you feel happy since it's your personal hobby!

I did, personally, splurge a bit to start up my collection. I ended up settling for a doll that didn't really capture the character I was going for, so I ended up selling her and never taking her out of the box. It also felt a bit overwhelming wig- and eye- wise, but then maybe that's just me splurging on wigs and eyes... Getting all their bodies blushed, seams sanded, strings tightened, joints sueded, etc. is also a bit overwhelming to do at once. I suppose it really does depend on the situation.

    7. I first ordered a doll, and then decided to order a second doll. Got them a month ago. Now I can not stop))) I'm waiting for Mio.
I make my dolls wigs, clothes. I'm so interesting.
      I buy a doll's eyes.

Also I have had with other dolls: Tonner, Momoko, FR. Now I have a collection of these dolls.

    8. I think that if you want to dolls from the same company that you buy them together to save shipping. I'm going to be buying 3 migidoll heads to save on shipping

    9. If it saves shipping , id buy 2 dolls at once. Other than that , one at a time is preferred. Why? so that i can enjoy each doll , give it the attention it deserves. Strange but true!!!!

    10. i think the real issue would be more like " i don't know which one i should play with first! :P
but i dont see a major problem, specially if the limited doll label is involved

    11. I bought My sweet doll at a con, she just looked so lovely. JUst needing a new home, maybe a dollie friend.. I want soo bad to go out and buy her a mate. I had the funds for a mate at the time, just had nerves about buying 2 over 60cm.. I am trying to hold out, research for the perfect mate for her. She looks like her heart has been broken, so I have to make her mate perfect :aheartbea

    12. I've ordered several dolls at once and even received them at once and I don't think it affected my bonding to them at all. But I think having many arrive at once makes it hard to choose who to play with first. Wigs, clothes, shoes, accessories are expensive too so when I have 2 dolls to dress I end up saying, "Who do I shop for first?" Sometimes, okay a lot of the times, my dolls sit in their box for months, even a year or more before I have the time/funds/inspiration to wardrobe them if I don't already have something.

    13. I have bout dolls only a few weeks apart, to like a month apart. I bout a DollMore catish doll then two weeks later bout a DollLeaves Kira, THEN bout a Soom Roxen not too long after that... I just couldn't help myself lol. :sweat
