1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Ordering many dolls at once?

Nov 29, 2007

    1. As stated above...I'm sure the company would want you to buy a lot at once. And honestly, I don't understand how you wouldn't be able to bond with two at once. It'd be cool to develop two doll personalities at once, and give them stories that correspond with each other.

    2. I see nothing wrong with it. If the person can afford it (without it effecting their ability to pay bills/buy necessities) then they should go for it. I can't really think of an ethical or moral dilemma, unless someone thinks it's wrong to spend that much on luxury items at once (which I don't see as an issue). Bonding could be an issue, but many (if not most) people can bond with more than one doll at a time.

    3. It can turn out quite stressful, in my opinion, to buy more than one doll at once. However, I do it only in the case of limited dolls, mainly because you're never sure if you can get them another time.

    4. I`ve ordered 2 dolls at the time three times now. First was my first doll and a Puki, the puki arrived a month after the first, so had no problems there. I got my two girls, Flowne and Dreaming Cherry at the same time, just a week between them. No problem. Now I`ve ordered another Puki, and a Dollshe. I`m excited about which one of them will arrive first. :D

But I`ll bond nevertheless, giving each doll their own day to bond with me. :) By taking your time with a individual doll at the time, you can prevent the non-bonding issue, I`ve learned. Got multi-arrivals? Unwrap them with a day or two between them.

    5. i think if ur funds allow it, then go ahead. i think not everyone tends to "bond" with their dolls. like my mom, she ordered 2 limited supa dolls and the lati flower garden special lyn lately, and she never bonds with anyone of them. they are just on for display later. of course, it doesnt mean she doesnt like them or doesnt take good care of them, she does. it's just that she doesnt give her dolls personalities, and her dolls arent her "playmates". she simply admires them behind glass.

    6. personally if i decided i wanted to order 2 dolls either at once or close to each other i think it would make the arrival dates more exciting and once you have them you can take as much time as you need to bond with them both :)

    7. I don't like getting two at once. My Sabik and Gentle Soori came on the same day and I have ended up selling both. It was too overwhelming. :(

    8. i started off by buying one .. to dip my feet in the water. then my next two were also individual purchases - each with ample time between arriving and ordering to bond.

however, once i dipped the pen into the yo-sd ink, i was done. i ordered a dollzone ani then the soom bb's came up and THEN i found a volks kasumi that was too delicious and good to pass up.

howeverm the way that i work, i already have the characters developed before the dolls get here. the "bonding" process is therefore not really that pivotal or intense.

    9. What mostly happens with me is that my new doll will arrive with bits for the older dolls in tow, since if I'm making a big dolly purchase I might as well order wigs and clothes at the same time. When my MNF Rheia arrived, I spent the first day playing with her, but by the second day, I'd nicked her default eyes and MiniFee wig (...I'd presented her with her own green eyes and red wig, I'm not that mean...) for my first doll, Gwenllian, and yesterday was a Gwenllian day. I tend to play with whichever doll strikes my fancy at the time, so I'm not too worried about bonding with too many dolls at once because I take my time with each of them anyway.

    10. For me, all of my dolls are based on different pre-set characters. My ability to bond with a certain doll, I find, is mostly based on how much I appreciate or relate to that character. I bought my Volks Kun and my Dollmore Asha around the same time. I ended up selling Kun because it turned out that her character reminded me of someone that I didn't really want in my life at the time. It had nothing to do with the fact that I bonded with Asha quicker (given that Kun arrived two weeks before Asha did!)

I think buying two dolls at once is a great idea (if you can do that financially), mostly because it's nice to have someone their own size they can interact with. Another good reason (especially when buying from the same company) is that the waiting period is absolutely excruciating for some companies. I ordered my Bory from Luts 2 months ago and they just told me it'll be two more weeks before he's ready. I was planning on buying a Pitta next month, but I could kick myself for not ordering her with Bory (I can't even remember why I didn't, I had the money...:|). Now I won't see her until July! :...(

    11. I ordered my first two boys at the same time essentially- and then about five months later I've just bought my third (an unoa ^^) and I'm trying my hardest to save up enough for a head that I've been eyeing for ages! (darn poverty!!!) I've got about $20 in my dollie fund so far T-T $50 would have been rather nice....but I'm working on it ^__^

I don't see anything wrong with buying however many dolls at a time that you want (granted that you have the money and it won't have any adverse effects on you).

    12. I think that--if purchased responsibly and with attention already given to life expenses--the only possibly problem with buying multiple dolls at once is establishing that bond with them. I think it's a bit difficult to give all of the dolls the same amount of attention and care when they come in at the same time. But if you can balance it out, then there's no problem then haha I love of the dollies I have but I prefer when they don't all come in at once.

    13. The only thing stopping me from ordering several dolls at once is money. If you have the disposable income then I see no problem with ordering as many as you like at the same time.

    14. I can't think of any good reason why someone shouldn't order as many dolls at once as they want. I personally don't know how a person could afford more than maybe two at once (unless they are tinies and even then it can be pricey) but if they can afford to do it, then I don't see a problem.

    15. It should be okay as long as you can afford it.

    16. I would love to be the kind of person who could afford multiple dolls at once. But I don't see any thing wrong with ordering alot of dolls if you can do it.

    17. i wish i could order many dolls at the same time....*sigh* only if i had that much money :(

    18. I think it will be Okay.
I don't see anything wrong, if those people can afford many BJDs they're purchase in one time.

    19. I didn't think of that! :) I always thought it might be too overwhelming to get two or more dolls at one time... but now you mention it, it totally makes sense to perhaps adjust the normal opening-arrival-bonding sessions a little bit to accommodate more dolls at once! I think that it really could be fun! :aheartbea

    20. i got my two girls together andthey were my first and to be honest i found it hard to bond with both of them at the same time but it was nice having them both here
