1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

organizing your doll space

Feb 20, 2007

    1. Currently, all my dolls share a shelf I emptied specifically for them. There I also put some decorations and my teddy bear (:
As for their clothes - I keep those in a big colorful box (that was probably intended for hats), but it's getting small already >_<
I'm going to refurnish my room though, so several large trunks and a big showcase are definitely on my shopping list.
I need to do something with my art supplies, too - the nice wooden box I had for them is too small, with the oils and pastels and watercolors trying to roll around the floor every time I take it.

    2. My dolls don't have their own space, yet. Once I have enough time for it, I'm planning on clearing one corner of my living room for them and decorate it with doll size stuff and furniture. I already have some nice things I've found for them from flea markets, I just need to kick my lazy butt into making some adequate furniture for them, so I'll know they'll be exactly the way I want them to be.

    3. Doll shoes are kept by size in little plastic 3 drawer storage I bought from Target. Larger drawers 8 1/2" x 11"(Target too) hold tights and accessories. The clothes are hung and kept in a closet, just they have a very small pole. The little kids toys are kept in a large basket on the top of a wardrobe.

    4. I have my dolls in my attic in a half made set! I store their clothes and wigs in a Dollmore carrier. Sometimes I bring them downstairs.

    5. When I get my doll, I'm gonna have a shelf just for him and all his little bits and bobs - hoping to get a cute little wardrobe or chest of draws for his clothes, little bed, chair and rug etc... A little house for him :D

    6. My tiny lives on the shelf above my bureau/desk, but I need to clear it a bit, I have a habit of dumping things on there, little things, but still...she has her a sofa to sit on (she is doll house 1/12th size) a little table by her sofa with her water, books and tea cup on it, a little metal bin, and her little poodle by her side, and two teddies sitting next to her. xD

I haven't got my MSD sized doll yet, but he already has a chair on a shelf waiting for him, cushions to make it more comfortable if needed, and little chest of drawers with his clothes in and boxes for his other things (food items etc.).

    7. Everyone seems to be far better organized than I am with my dolls and their belongings. I have them basically in two bedrooms with dolls displayed in the one room and the others in boxes in the other room. I have some plastic drawers for some of the tinies' items, and small pencil cases with other items for them.

The SD size items are in plastic Rubbermaid tubs. I do need to organize that much better and I need to find a better way to keep some of their boxes. I keep the boxes so I could ship them for new faceups or perhaps just to sell at some point. I just don't really know how to store the darned boxes they come in as they take up so much room. That's my real problem.

I have decided to purchase far fewer dolls as I don't have the space. And now I have been purchasing items to do themes for photographing the dolls I currently own.

    8. At my dorm, Uzi and Mase will have the top drawer to themselves for their stuff. I plan on buying some storage cabinets to put up at my room in my parents place until I move out one day after college. Uzi sleeps in the Dollmore sleeping bag I bought with her that lays on my bed.
