Yeah, Z's hair is a bit longer and wilder but he's not an actor, he's a musician, and a bit more extreme. And the little patch of facial hair is a tribute to another inspiration for him...

He's got a dad, though. And I'm hoping to eventually bring him into my group of dolls. I kind of think Nobu Yamamoto would look a little like this guy:

That's Sakamoto Ryuichi, one of Japan's greatest contemporary musicians. He's a film composer primarily now, but he started the pioneering J-Rock band Yellow Magic Orchestra back in the late 1970s.

My faceup artist and friend Biff did a good job making Z. look more like late-20s than a baby-face. But there is only so much you can do with a young sculpt. And unfortunately the majority of sculpts both in vinyl and resin look really young. I suppose I could keep looking at minimees that go up for sale. But most of the time people want minimees that look like young guys. Not men who have been around the block a few times. Oh well.

 

Okay I know he's not super old or anything (39, so he IS pushing 40), but damn, an Ewan McGregor doll, Mmm, yes I would enjoy that very much.

Also @ Dollcumentary: Haha! Trent Lane! I loved that show when I was younger!

 

Oh man, i'd love to see some older men bjds, and older women too. Obviously you could go the Minimee route for the head, but where to go for the body?

...I dream and dream of owning a Spock Prime bjd. Yes, that's right. Older Leonard Nimoy. And then I would get a Chris Pine!Kirk and make then kiss. Because that's how I roll, bbs.

But this also runs parallel with my wanting a plump lady bjd. I want dem thighs, ass, curved belly and booooobs! And sadly both older people and larger people are not what this hobby seems to have much time for.

 

You know who I'd love...Robert Downing Jr! Man is he fine or what!? So what if he's 45? So he's like the age of my father? So what if he's like half my age? He's still a major hottie

 

I like the idea of having slightly older men as doll models because to be honest I want to see something new as opposed to young boys/men. I like the looks of the youthful males, but there's something about older men that can also be captivating as well. The whole aura of wisdom and whatnot. Same could be said about women as well.

 

there is(or maybe was?) a GO for Downey MNM months ago. hope the GO is still going on. cant wait to see the result~if i'm able to ever get my hands on that, it will make my year~

 

Oooo~ actually, that'd be really nice to have a sort of older doll. X3 Especially since I tend to like the more mature type of dolls over the girly ones. I'd definitaley go for that!

 

Sigh... Alan Rickman and Snape. And Liam Neeson and Harrison Ford and Hguh Laurie is alright too. But especially Alan Rickman, just not sure a doll would do him justice.

 

I'm thinking of having my favorite composer as a BJD but I guess I'd have to sculpt the head myself or have the sculpt commissioned perhaps.
I think his hair would be a modified furwig to look like those in the first half of the 18th century. Shinta is possibly getting an outfit from that period in the upcoming Dolliverse swap, if it works out

My dad "collects" organs, by playing them and putting them on his list . Maybe once I have my idea completed, I could start doing the same by photographing my Bach BJD playing organs I think that would be really cool

Im not a very big bishounen fan... (only one of my characters is in that age) and I am a little bit tired of seeing tons of little, cute boys in girls dressing (at local conventions...).
My own characters are all over 30 and I hope, that my dolls aren`t looking too young =D

 

I think there is a lot of interest in "older" dolls. Perhaps it's time the companies took a look into that

 

I'm so for this! It would be so cool to own a older looking doll. I also love Alan Rickman!! -sigh- I wouldnt be able to look at him without going nuts though.

 

OMG yesss I would so buy a doll of a man in his 30's or even 40's. There are a lot of guys (especially actors) who would be stunning as dolls! (i have to admit im a fan of oyaji's in yaoi )

Clicked on this thread because I was wondering what Oyaji is supposed to mean- I'm going to assume this is another of those times where the OP assumes everyone here speaks/wants to speak bits of Japanese.

ANYway. Apparently what the OP was attempting to ask about was the lack of Silver Foxes hereabouts.

I have only one doll who is vaguely "bishounen" like, and several who are fully adult, including one who is in his fifties, and quite the handsome fella.
