Peak's Wood - Dandy Boys

Jun 5, 2014

    1. awh, Paxita, ur boy swoons me off my chair everytime i see him xD <3 and his new Oscar Eyes looks really good.. so mysterious~~
kyaah~~ :D I also got Oscar Eyes in my Tristan boy ^^

    2. Awwww daepus, thanks for your lovely words! your boy is so gorgeous too!! I love see him *-* Tristan boys are super cutes.
This are my first Oscars and I think are amazing eyes, so maybe I would like to buy another pair for other doll I have, a demon boy. PW have a great selection of this eyes.

    3. Paxita he is soo pretty! And I love his outfit so much :aheartbea I agree with faireva, he looks like Ciel Phantomhive :blush

    4. So I've received my Madhatter yesterday....and I've crazy mixed feelings going on :(
The body is gorgeous, I love everything about it (the hands particularly oh my), but I got the head blank and could not bond to it at all.
It looks tiny on the thick neck, but maybe I'm just not used to boy dolls anymore...I don't know.
I ended up stuffing him back in his box and out of sight until I can get him to an artist, didn't even take any pictures.
And no clothes I have fit him at all, or shoes....and I don't know, it's just this type of situation where nothing is as expected.
The wig I had prepared looks too poofy and silly, the eyes too washed out. Like, everything is wrong haha. I'm just being whiny, I'm sure it'll work out once I cut and style the wig and get him a face but I just needed to rant I guess.
Could anyone post more pictures of Bella/Madhatter please to remind me how gorgeous he is?
Also, any tips where to get clothes and shoes that fit perfectly? (I'm picky and would like to avoid pants that are baggy in the bum, or shoes that are too large etc)
I've been looking at Nine9 Style who seems to fit but is not 100% the style I want. What about male Sadol? Anyone tried it? Or any other preppy style brands?

    5. Awh Kawachu im sorry to hear about the mixed feels, but im pretty sure he is gorgeous and will become even more handsome when he gets a faceup, would love to see some pics one day :3
And if i remember correctly, the school uniforms and the other uniform type thingie clothing on PW's page is from sadol :) i got the Classic set and a school uniform when i ordered my white rabbit and the fit is very nice :) (however im not sure what size they used)

    6. paxita -- LOVE the Oscar Eyes in your boy!!!

Kawachu -- Faceups can make such a huge difference... And really, almost everything... I mean the wrong wig can mess up nearly any doll, same with clothes.

But bonding is a tricky thing. It's always hard to know how it will turn out. Still--first impressions can be really tough since you don't really have him "together" as you want him.

I've got my Mad Hatter on layaway, so no photos to post... :(

      ----

Oh, wait... I do have some bad photos from the PW booth at Dollism Plus US!

      Here's the grey version--

    7. Awww thanks for your words for my boy krystina and april :love

      Kawachu
, I think the faceup is very important to establish a bond with a doll. I personally, when my Tristan arrived I saw (the faceup) different with the promo photos and I initially contact them and they offered me do something. I just had to send the head. But then, I took the first photos of my Tristan and I loved, I love him as he is.
So, if you have not thought about who to send your Bella to faceup, I recommend you contact them and ask if they can do makeup for your guy.

    8. Thanks guys for your input  it helped! I think I was just in shock, but I've calmed down now. I have an artist picked out already (she did all my other PW dolls) and I will send him as soon as I can afford it :)
So for now I think I just won't look at him, blank dolls don't go well with me haha
But yeah, I'll start and think about his character for now and try and style that wig from hell XD hopefully I'll have a handsome guy to show you soon guys!

    9. I'm happy to hear that you'll give him a chance Kawachu :)
I'm sure that he will look absolutely stunning after getting his faceup :)
I always try to brew up a little story about my dolls to make out their characters. It really helps define how I think they should look.
Best of luck to you with your Bella. I'm sure it will all turn out great :)

    10. I'm glad to hear you're giving your Bella a chance and have a faceup artist picked! I know you'll turn him into a cool character.:)

    11. Hello Dandy fans! :) I finally got around to making a posing thread for the Dandy boys with my Lloyd modelling some standing, sitting, and floor poses. You are welcome to post your own posing photos as well! I made it in the photo reference thread, here is the link. I know Ninjy and medici in particular were interested in seeing the different poses, mine aren't that creative or wild but I hope I gave a better understanding of their range of motion.

      Kawachu
, I understand what you mean, I loved my boy immediately because of the faceup but I know it would be hard for me to bond with him if he was without a face upon arrival. Even without a wig he stayed in his box until I got one for him, I'm glad you have a plan of action now!

paxita, your Elian is so cute! I love his style and those light sparkly eyes suit him!

    12. Thank you for the link faireva~! <333

I'm still a ways off from paying off my boy... but now I am less worried about the posing~! >w<

    13. :dance Thank you very much, Faireva. I love this boy and he seem to post like a dream. I so much love everything about these boys <3

    14. I love seeing comparisons and posing reviews! Thanks, faireva!

    15. You guys are very welcome!! <3 Yes, I'm very satisfied with his posing ability and I just love PW boy sculpts! I so hope they release a Cosmo again in the future, perhaps in tropical tan.. That might be too much to ask for though, I know that dark tan was difficult to cast. Hopefully, I'll have some photos of Lloyd in some casual clothes to share here soon! Please feel free to leave your own posing photos on the reference thread if you are so inclined! :D

    16. Just wondering if any of you guys have ever experienced a kind of marbling effect in the sealant on ur dollies?
Aaron, my white rabbit have gotten a kinda marbling effect on his left side on his faceup :( i have sent an inquiry to pw about it[IMG]

Its not too visible but its there..

    17. I've seen this before with MSC as that can become cloudy. But usually it happened very soon after spraying, within a couple of days...so not sure why it would happen to him so suddenly :( maybe heat? Was he close to a lamp or radiator?

    18. Well he have been sittin in the corner of my bed with the rest of my crew and had the bedlamp shine a bit on them..
But then again.. today is sunny so maybe this part of his face got "hit" the mist by the sun? ... idk cuz when he wears his wig
. Half of the marbling is covered almost

    19. I've had that same effect with MSC, but it always happened in places I didn't wash well enough, like by the nostrils or around the eyelids. It's pretty weird to see it in a place like that, but even so I'd say it's a fault in the faceup and not anything you did to it. Hopefully Peakswoods can do something for you!

    20. I did send them an inquiry and asked if i could send them the head and get the faceup redone..
Ill pay for the faceup fees since i really love pw's faceup :) they are really stunning so i hope we can get to an agreement where things get fixed ^^
