It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Peak's Woods Mini Discussion Thread

Jun 15, 2008

    1. Oh, as far as I know they don't call the FoB boys Dandy... that's sort of just an FoC thing. If I recall correctly, the Dandy line was originally because they resculpted the female Fairies of Colors heads to be a little more masculine, with slightly fuller jawlines and neckholes to fit the FoC boy body.

On Facebook, someone did ask them about Dandies in lavender-pink skin, and this was their answer:
So I would think that, since the adorable vampire girls are here for the Halloween Event, the FoC and Dandies will be coming for Christmas... if things go well as they planned! :) I remember someone asked them about FoB boys, too, and I think they did say they wanted to release them soon, although I can't remember off the top of my head where I read that. If they don't show up for Christmas, maybe they'll do a special Valentine's event? ;)

ETA: Ah, and like @alington alluded to, Peak's Woods said they're reluctant to cast loose heads in special colors because it's hard to match the color later on if you want to order a body separately. However, they did say it was okay if you wanted to order at least one full doll in a special color and then order another head in that same color at the same time.

    2. Alington I did order from DenverDoll before, like 8 years ago lol But didn't had a good experience with them. I did message Peakswoods and waiting a reply, since they will keep the sale until November 13th I hope I can figure something until there.

Designedforsmiles I asked them about the heads before and they said it was okay as long I didn't mind it possible not matching. But not sure if they will be about this time since it seen more limited. I gonna wait their reply, if they are okay I may get just the heads, I really want to make a spotted body kind like a koi and this could be my chance lol

    3. I simply referred to them as Dandies because I fellt that Peakswoods over the past two years, has really outdone themselves as far as company transformations, and I think part of that, has been an update in aesthetics and offerings of each kind of doll. I think it is very possible they could end up calling a new line of FoB boys with the new name as well, because they will certainly redesign the body to match their new look. Which if you liked PW before, you will see that they really needed to update their 1/4th bodies pretty desperately as their faces were adorable, but their old bodies were kind of clunky in comparison.

Should they indeed update with a new Dandy-like body, I will be in heaven, because that thin, interestingly proportioned sculpting, is unique and beautiful to me, and as I've been dying inside a little as each FoC Dandy comes and goes, I have been really banking on the fact that they will have something just as special and cool for FoB Boys! I posted an inquiry after I remembered my username/password, so I will come back here if they have anything interesting to say!

    4. The new vampires are amazing! I wonder what decides the face up colos though? Like if I ordered a vampire Koonies in light pink/violet would her face up still be in the tan tons or would it be in the color scheme Mia's is in?

    5. That certainly makes sense! However they end up handling the naming, I'm sure I'll be in love with their dolls either way! :D I definitely agree that the new Little Muse body is a big improvement over the original Fairies of Bugs body.

@sadi-chan A koi doll sounds so cool! :) Which skintones are you considering?

    6. @Mystck - Peak's Woods is very accommodating so if there is a make up style you like on a doll that's being released but you want it in a different skin tone I'm sure they will try their best to fulfill your request. Just make sure you ask on the inquire board at the bottom of the homepage to make sure it's okay with them before you place your order.

Wow!! These girls are so gorgeous! Vampire KoonieS in particular has my heart throbbing! I love how there are six skin tone options!! (6!!) :D And do I see violet eyelashes on Vampire Romantic Mia? How delightful!

    7. @designedforsmiles I'm interested in lavender-pink and grey-blue, I have been looking some color schemes and think both should work :)

    8. Out of curiosity, has anyone bought a FOB via DenverDoll before? I'm trying to compare their shipping rates to ordering direct from Peak's Woods.

      Many thanks!

PS: I hope you are able to order your koi doll, @sadi-chan! Her concept sounds amazing!

    9. I really love the Blue skinned Dotty Muse. The only way I talked myself out of her first special version was that I wanted her in that lovely blue skin. And here she is. Right after I spent all my dolly money :(. Oh well. I'll get her next time.

    10. @PeppermintPocky thanks :) I hope as well but if I don't get her now I will get her on another event :) I'm going to make this doll even if takes some time lol

    11. If you're in the US, I think it can be a bit cheaper to order from Denver Doll, and I've done it many times with excellent experiences. As I recall, they charge only shipping to you, and retail prices, when you place the order. Plus, I think they place the order even before you pay off your lay-away, which is kind of cool. Then you don't have to wait as long.

For me, I have a diamond club status with Peak's Woods points system, so I get an additional % off my orders when I order through them. (It's their frequent shopper program.) I've since figured out it's a bit faster to order from PW directly (if I pay in full), plus it ends up being cheaper for me, because of their frequent shopper club, you know? And if you want anything other than a basic doll or one with a standard face-up, I've found it much easier to order directly, since the instructions don't always make it across. :)

    12. So after reading through these posts it seems as though the blue skin is offered every once in a while? Am I reading that correctly? I know I've seen lavender skin offered a few times this year but I've never seen the blue before now. (I'm a PW newbie.)

Thank you so much, @alington! And that's awesome you're part of the diamond club. I had no idea it existed.

    13. I believe lavender-pink is a new skin tone that was introduced with the Welcome Back event for FoB. :) But yeah, there's been grey, and blue-grey, and I think with FoC DLight there was a short-lived, exclusive diamond-grey. There's also suntan, and there was a tropical tan but I don't remember which event that was for.

    14. Yes, that's how I remember it. I just saw (I think) that Peak's Woods is offering both grey and blue-grey skin with these new School of Rock girls. I wonder if that's a darker grey, like Diamond skin?

My new girls are here--and the new body is so cute and slim. The new girls can wear Angell-Studio outfits. This is Romantic Mia in lavender-pink.

You can see the box opening of both Romantic Mia and Romantic KoonieS here: http://www.denofangels.com/threads/...-mia-and-koonies-nudity.690345/#post-11739808

    15. alington, she's so gorgeous! I'm so glad I ordered this sculpt because your owner photo of her is awesome!:)

    16. Just a question regarding the skin colours available in current event, does anyone have by any chance a comparison of grey skin and blue-grey skin?
I'm interested in Dotty Muse but I'm not sure if she has blue-grey or grey skin in the promo pictures. Looks more blue to me but I just want to make sure.

    17. She's so beautiful, alington! And your arrivals have made so hopeful that I'll be getting my shipping notice soon!

    18. @alington she looks so beautiful! Wow

@Lalette I think is blue-grey since each one of them is using a special skin

    19. Vampire Dotty Muse in the promo photos is blue-grey skin. :) I believe Vampire Lady Bee is grey skin.

I don't actually own the two colors together, but having seen them together in person, I can say that they are distinctly different. The grey skin is a very light grey, sort of like a light smoky grey like you'd see from blowing out a candle, or in a bit of ash from a wood fire. The blue-grey skin is also sort of pale blue, not a saturated bright color like an electric blue or robin's egg blue, but more of a pastel like... a slightly cloudy sky or... I dunno, something else light blue. It's definitely blue, although the colors of her eyes and uniform in the promo photos sort of trick the eye into seeing a green cast, and it's a slightly deeper color than it appears in the promo photos depending on your screen brightness.

    20. How do such colours like blue-grey and lavender pink go with over time? Do they change tone much over the years?
