1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Peak's Woods Mini Discussion Thread

    1. I agree, they blue-grey Dotty Muse is beautiful! :D However since I didn't anticipate how wonderful she would look in such a resin colour or with that awesome faceup, I ordered lavender pink Dotty Muse whom I love equally. Now I'm trying to talk myself out of getting the blue-grey version too... (they would be super cool sisters:XD:)

I don't know too much about PW point program, would you mind helping me with some questions I have?
How can we check what point status we have? I have checked the points page however it only shows how many points I have, no club status. Will points equal to a set about of cents that we can choose to take off a future order during payment or once you become a frequent enough buyer you always get a set % off?
Again sorry for all the questions and thank you! :)

    2. Is anyone else having trouble with KoonieS when you select yes for the vampire fangs it comes up with a pop-up thing and you can't add her to your cart? :/

    3. I can't say how the blue-grey changes since I'm not exactly sure when it first came out, but lavender-pink was only released this summer for the FoB event, so nobody can really say from experience how it would change "over the years."

As far as I've seen, Peak's Woods only repeats special colors when they can get it to be a reliably consistent color from batch to batch. That's one of the reasons tropical tan hasn't been re-released; they said it was a difficult color to cast and though they would like to do the color again, they're not sure if they can do it in the near future. If I were to guess, though, between blue-grey and lavender-pink, I'd say the lavender-pink would be more likely to change color sooner since red pigments tend to deteriorate faster than blue or green pigments in resin. It might be a good idea to ask Peak's Woods if they can do a yellowing test by leaving a few spare part of each color out in the sun for a day or two. I'm not sure if they'd be willing to do that, but I think Iplehouse did a similar test when their Real Skin color was first released.

    4. Thanks! Sorry I should of mentioned those colours in general, even with other companies not just peaks woods since they are new colours for them. I know some other companies have blue-grey, grey, and blue toned resin, and I'm guessing there surely is a somewhat pink tone that has been out for a while?

    5. Ah, I see! I've only heard of a handful of companies that do fantasy colors, like Bobobie/ResinSoul and WITHdoll and DollShe. I'm sure different companies use different ratios for their own color formulas, but they probably do behave similarly. To be honest, Dotty Muse is going to be my first doll in a fantasy color (I've had normal, white, and tan so far) so I'm curious about a company color comparison as well. :)

    6. Yes, I'm having the same problem :( It happens with every choice for her - thigh, skin, wig, etc.

    7. Of course--if I can. I actually don't see how the point system works on their site, either, and my account doesn't say what level I am. I think when they set it up, it was originally based on the $$ amount of purchases during the year (I think 2013), and I spent a TON on several orders that year. (I'm embarrassed to say how much, but to give you a hint, I think one of my five orders that year was for four dolls! Yikes!)

But I've found it works both ways you mentioned: First, when I place orders now, I can use any accumulated points towards each order purchase. I think you earn about 1 point per $100 in orders, and they are worth a small fraction of that, maybe $1 off every $100 when you use them, but I can't be sure about that. Lay-aways may count differently, though I'm not sure.

Second, when I am looking at the shopping cart, after clicking through to check out, it automatically gives me a discount--and this is where it says "Diamond Grade 10%." I'm pretty sure the system tracks the discount level for you, in addition to tracking points, though this may have been an anniversary thing several years ago (I think they celebrated 10 years in 2013). But if I recall correctly, I think you have to accrue at least $1000 in sales for the first discount to apply. (It's easy to do once you start buying the larger dolls, LOL!) :)

      I hope this helps.

Wow--what wonderful descriptions of the colors! :) Now I want a grey skin, too. So--the diamond-grey that was offered last year, do you happen to know if this is darker than the regular grey?

    8. It only happens to the other options if you choose the fangs first so the problem is with the fangs. If you skip the fangs option the others work fine. I changed my mind about ordering her so I don't have to worry about it but it would be nice if they would fix it. :/

    9. Good to know - thanks!

Edit: OOPS - sorry for the double post. Not enough coffee yet ---

I don't have one of the minis yet, but here is a picture of my Tristan in the grey. This picture is pretty true to color. She is next to Briana in NS.

    10. I really can't say enough about Peakswoods customer service. I am moving unexpectantly and they were nice enough to let me skip my layaway payment this month. In fact they said to pay when I can. This is such a weight of my mind. Love peakswoods!

    11. Alington, congratulations, your Mia is so cute! Have anybody else (congrats to alington!) got already the FOB girl from July event with special make-up? Can't wait to get my Romatnic Bee...

    12. Does anyone know of Peakswoods NS is an okay match for Doll Leaves? I wanna buy my DL Amara a new body and am IN LOVE with the Peaksy aesthetics.

    13. @periwinklestars - Your vampire girls are sooo lovely and look like they are ready for Halloween. It's nice to see a pic of the grey that is "true to color" since it can look so different with different lighting, etc.

@alington - Thanks for explaining the point system & of course for sharing your FOB girls awesome arrival! So pretty! It's good that the new body can fit the amazing angell-studio outfit you already had.

    14. Thank you very much @alington for explaining the points ^__^

I asked PW about their blue-grey skin and its ageing, they said that:
"Blue-grey skin that came out last year(in September) had no skin change yet. The one we use as a sample for a photo shoot has no skin change yet and one of our Korean customers mentioned the same thing in a korean BJD community."
So thats good news, even though a year isn't really long of a time at all, at least it hasn't shown any signs yet.:thumbup

    15. Thanks! I love these girls! I have quite a few dolls, but this Tristan is my absolute favorite. You are right about how different the grey looks in pictures. Background, lighting, and even clothing can alter how it looks. It can be tricky getting a true color shot. I just lucked into this one :)

    16. Hello! newbie here :whee:
Does anyone knows if I can order the dolls from the event in Denver Doll? I didn't see the new dolls in the page. :(

    17. Do you mean the School of Rock dolls? I emailed DDE about these dolls last week and just sent a gentle nudge their way. I can let you know once they get back to me.

    18. Yes, I'm sorry for my english :whee: It will be so nice of you if you let me know when they reply to you.

    19. Your English is fine. I'm just a bit loopy from lack of sleep. I'll post here the moment I get a response. I'm really hoping DDE says "yes" because I like their layaway options.

    20. Could I please ask if anybody has owner photos of the fob body? Is it the fob little muse body that is used for all their fob dolls?

Very tempted by vampire lady bee!
