Peak's Woods Mini Discussion Thread

I have a FoF, actually! She's a Cheshire Goon on the genderless body; I actually picked her up at Dollism NY a couple years back, so she was my very first from Peak's Woods! I'll take a photo of the two together sometime.

 

@faireva Yes, its awesome! ^__^ This is the official website, however it is in Korean. They are having their 60th anniversary on the 19th of December it seems. (I hope I can go to that! ;D) They have markets in both Seoul and Busan. The Seoul one is much bigger though. They usually have them 5 times a year, though it depends.
If you click the 'Event/최근 행사' button on the top of the page, you'll see a bunch of dated posts for news about the market, you can just click on any recent ones that look like they have a date in the title among all the Korean and the page will load with a mostly English poster that will show the date on it, the location, and admission fees, like this Admission/입장료 is usually only 3,000 won= about 4 USD. I don't know if the opening/closing times are always the same, but the latest one says 11am-3:30pm.

 

It is literally killing me to have to stop myself from buying all these bigger dolls in the hopes that when the FoB boys do eventually come out, I can just buy like three of them -.- I am dying!

 

@designedforsmiles - Ohhh! I'd love to see your Cheshire Goon and Dotty Muse together!! I am so jealous you went to Dollism, I hope I can go to a convention they attend in the near future, I've never been to a ABJD convention before.

@ClarasCraft - Thank you so much for all the detailed information on the website, when I plan my trip there I'll have to include this on the Must Do List!! I hope you can make it to the 60th anniversary!! I wonder if it's going to be even bigger than usual to celebrate. How exciting~* Do you visit South Korea pretty often? If so, for family or pleasure or both? *curious*

@Artemos - I knowwwww!! *dies* Man, I love all three Beauty and the Beast dolls so much - especially Tristan and beasty Keith. I had to hold back so hard when Keith and Kass were first released as well, and then the Twistedland series... it's all so amazing! On the upside I can't really miss an opportunity to get an amazing doll from them though since they are consistently releasing works of art every 3-4 months. I am amazed at their creativity & Super psyched at the prospect of FOB boys this year!

 

@faireva Here's a quick shot! I wasn't particularly creative with the pose this time, but I think they're pretty cute sitting together like that! Next time I'm sure they'll warm up to each other so I can take some closeups of them chatting. The color contrast is interesting, at least!

Drool!!! I love your Dotty Muse! I really wish there were more of her around to help me decide on whether or not to take the plunge on her! She is soooo gorgeous but I already have two big PW girls >_< too many dolls I'm in love with right now!

 

@designedforsmiles - They look good together! I really like the angelic pose and costume of your Cheshire Goon. Man, I'm psyched to meet my mini Vampire girl soon - that lavender pink skin is so pretty. It's lovely to see your awesome Dotty while I wait, it's holding me over till they send that notice.

 

@faireva No problem! I'd be glad to help you out more if you need ^__^ There usually will be a lot more people at the special anniversary events, meaning more sellers and possible great deals Im not sure if they will do anything in particular yet for it, but it should still be very exciting! I've done some study in South Korea and have quite a few friends over there, so I cant wait to go back to both see my friends, travel and also hopefully continue study.

 

LOL! I'm just mad with happiness right now, the ladies just posted on their site that they're coming to PNW BJD in late May of this year! If it's like the last two US-based cons I've seen them at (KBJD and Dollism), they're undoubtably going to be bringing a selection of dolls--I am basically exploding over here!

Would anyone be able to make it to Washington state to see them? I'm hoping to see loads of their dolls, unabashedly!

I'm going to PNW as well! A friend talked me into it a few months ago and the programming looked good, but the day I read the announcement that Peak's Woods was going to be there I screamed. I'm so excited!!

 

That's why I signed up to go - because Peak's Woods will be there. Ive never been to a BJD show before. It'll be a stretch financially, but I'm really excited!

 

I screamed and did a little dance and my sister thought I'd won something--I honestly feel like that may be true, ROTFLOL! And now it looks like we will stay overnight rather than drive back and forth--there's just so much after-hours fun, especially if there are room sales--I must ping and see if that's going to officially be 'a thing' or not, yay!

It'll be so cool to meet everyone and see their dolls--this is honestly such a great part of a con, because you can just talk with people who get it. I'm an introvert (srsly) but it's so effortless to be with dolly people, I'm super-excited.

Oh Man!! I kinda did a 180 and went from elated to sad when I saw the announcement for PNW convention as it happens to coincide with my trip to Peru and I won't be able to go. Shucks, I was just daydreaming about meeting Peak's Woods and all of you at an awesome convention. I hope everyone has fun & posts lots of pictures! It's a missed opportunity but as consolation I did get my shipping notice for KoonieS today though!! Yay!

@ClarasCraft - Hope you get to go back and to visit and study in South Korea again soon! Thanks for all the helpful info! I talked to PW on facebook and apparently they are out like 2 hours from Seoul and don't have a storefront so I will most likely have the best chance of meeting them in person at a convention. I hope they attend another soon!

@Novaevitae - Hehehe, PW dolls are very addictive that's for sure! I'm a living testament to it at this point - I'm just trying not to give in and get one of the Valentine's cuties!! That Beast slays me!

@PoeticSoul - KoonieS is a special girl, I really love her big eyes, I'm so glad you appreciate her too! I was unsure of the color choice at first since she is a vampire I thought maybe the blue gray would have been more suitable character-wise, but I was overall more attracted to this color & now I'm glad I went with it since it looks pale and supernatural and not so "pink" as one might expect by the name.
