Peak's Woods Mini Discussion Thread

Is be curious to know too...not that I need another selling point

 

Does anyone know if PW will be coming to Doll North/Anime North this year? I would suuuure be tempted to buy if they did, haha!
Also, anyone with the new Muse body....if you have the normal sized bust; would you consider your girl to be small chested? I want the body for a head I have but my girl's chara is supposed to be pretty small breasted, but the smallest option on Peaskwoods looks a little TOO "flat", you know?

 

I may be getting a Lady Bee soon and I'm super excited, I found her second hand for within my price range and the seller said they'd even be willing to work out a payment play for me if she's just a bit too much! I've been wanting her since I first laid eyes on her.
I'm mostly waiting on pictures from the seller and shipping fees, but I really hope this works out

I doubt that PW will be coming to Doll North this year. I'm fairly certain they are attending PNW BJD Expo, which is around the same time as DN. They also haven't attended a Doll North event in person since 2013 (I think?).

I would love if they attended again, though. I have several of their dolls, and would love another - and getting them at a con, in person, make the experience all the more sweeter.

 

That sucks! Would have loved to have met them and bought a doll.

 

I just bought a secondhand tan Lady Bee and I can't wait for her to get here.

She was a huge impulse buy, even though I've admired PW dolls for ages. I've only managed to order her a VOLKS set so far, but I've still got no idea what to do about her wig, eyes, and shoes. Does anyone have pics of their tan lovelies?

 

Congratulations--she is SO pretty, and I'm sure you'll be thrilled. I'm so glad you bought her, because I was looking at that doll, LOL! I do not need!

@Elzaim and @xkelpiex Peak's Woods is attending the PNW BJD Expo this year, in person. They actually just posted on their website that they are accepting preorders through April 18 for pickups at the show (!!). Yikes for my budget. But on the plus side, I will be picking up a suntan Dotty Muse there! Hooray!

Where is Doll North, BTW?

 

I'd like to know this, too. I do know the outfits fit their new bodies quite well, but I don't have any AS shoes, I don't think.

 

@alington Doll North is in Toronto, Ontario, in Canada. So...I'm pretty far from the PNW BJD Expo unfortunately, and am unable to attend. I attended Dollism when it was in Buffalo, New York since I'm just a hop-skip over the border in the Niagara Region and it was awesome, but I wasn't nearly as interested in Peaks back then as I am now and so I kinda missed their booth besides some cursory glances and longing sighing BUUUUT, we all know Dollism is now a far off dream, haha, so that light has been burnt out.

Maybe if I beg and plead once a month on their Q&A for a year they'll go next year?

 

It never hurts to try! I'm flying from San Diego to Seattle, so not quite so far, and way cheaper, I bet, since I don't have to leave the country, and I can fly southwest, which helps. Also, it might help that I own almost every single one of their sculpts, lol! it's almost sad, except that I love them so much. They might find it worth while to come pay me a person visit now and then, lol!

The wig may or may not be temporary - I really just threw something on her so she wouldn't be bald. She looks a bit orange-y IRL, although it doesn't quite show on photos as much. Is this normal for Peaks Woods' tan? I think it may take me a while to get used to the skin tone.

The thing about Peak's Woods tan is that there have been several versions of it... the most recent being Suntan. Suntan is not orangey at all; rather, I'd call it a beige/bisque tone.

I wasn't following Peak's Woods back when they released their first tan, though, so I think @alington would be able to give you more accurate information regarding the names of the colors and the qualities of their specific shades. From the photos I've seen of dolls of that age, though, I think the orange tone is pretty typical for that version of tan.

 

@NekoNyanMew I think I must have seen another doll, since my daughter has that same one. (I was thinking of Romantic Lady Bee also, for some reason. Hey, I'm getting older!)

She (and her older sister both) we lovingly call the spray tan queens, though when PW released them, I think she was the Honey Princess and Yeru (the Fairy of Colors Large version) was the Honey Queen. And as @designedforsmiles mentioned, the tan color has changed quite a bit. Some time ago, I took a photo of all the tan PW dolls I owned, and they were quite varied, though they stayed very similar throughout the years. I am due for an update. The most recent is called Suntan, and it's much more mellow, like Luts brown, I think.

Ive had Mia for quite some time now and couldn't settle on a character for her, but now she has decided since trying on this beautiful outfit! Finally I can plan her faceup!

I've named her Fawn and bought her a pair of Oscar Doll eyes which i think really go with her skin tone. I'll take some better pics of her once she gets her new wig.

Cydril, Wow...that was fast! What a wonderful faceup...very elegant, and it goes so well with her beautiful outfit. I have a Romantic Mia coming so it's a real thrill to see what you've done with yours. And I love her grumpy little attendant too...so perfect!
