1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Peakswoods 26cm Fairies of Fairy Tales discussion part 2

May 29, 2015

    1. Never fear, you are not alone. I "lost" Kirk for an embarrassingly long time...to the point I'd bought a duplicate blank doll and arranged for a duplicate faceup. While I was waiting for the artist to start on the replacement, I finally found him. Turns out, he was in one of the Xmas wrapping supply boxes in storage...NO idea how he got in there, but I was a happy pixie that day.

Of course, gotta say how cool it is to have a life size Tardis in your garage. Did the Faire get to keep it?

So many beautiful dolls and faceups! Here's my Acacia to add to the PW spam :D

    2. @clochette No, unfortunately, we still have the TARDIS in our garage. I think DH would like to sell it, but I am pretty sure there may be some copyright issues with that, plus the fact that he probably couldn't get anywhere near what he put into it out of the price, you know? But in any case, it's just taking up space at this point. It's just gigantic. Don't get me wrong--I love Dr Who as much as any Whovian, but that doesn't mean I need a life-size TARDIS in pieces in the garage. ;) (Maybe I'm just getting crabbier in my old age, LOL!)

Love your girl's dress! She is so cute!

    3. She is so cute - such a sweet face:love

    4. Thank you, she's a Chi Chi, she joined the troop a couple of years ago. She actually arrived as a "he", but that face just screamed "girl", so girl she became.

Thanks for the comment on the dress, alington...I normally avoid yellow fabrics like the plague (traumatic yellow experience), but that fabric jumped out at me. I wish I could find more of that print.

I completely get the "not getting what you put into it" issue...that makes it so much harder to part with. It's a shame...it would make such a great display piece for a store like Hot Topic.

    5. Constance (Cheshire Goon) would like to introduce herself. She also has a couple of questions if you don't mind. She is not sure about her default eyes and was looking for color suggestions, also was wondering what shoes fit her the best. She thanks you for your help, and is glad to be able to add spam[IMG].

    6. Hello, Constance! :) I think the purple eyes are sweet-looking with her outfit, but if she wants a change, maybe pink or brown would look nice, as well. I got teal eyes with my Normal Skin Cheshire Goon, and I think they really make her face pop.

As for shoes, FoF have about a 39mm foot length, so shoes with an insole of about 43mm-50mm should fit, depending on your preferred fit and whether or not you want to pair socks with them. I have a pair of GuessDoll shoes that can fit with thin stockings, and my Cheshire Goon shares them with my LittleFee. :)

    7. Thank you desingedforsmiles - very helpful and Constance thanks you too:)

    8. @Merlin's Mom your Cheshire Goon is just adorable--that outfit is just so sweet! I like her eyes as is, too, but you might consider swapping to a pale blue or aqua, if you wanted them to pop a little more. (I love creams and brown with blue and turquoise together.)

Most Dollheart and Code Noir sized small shoes will fit her feet, as will Nine9style. Also, Mint on Card has some inexpensive options on their website by... Let me look it up... M-style. This is the link (if you're in the US--they have a separate site for orders outside the US--look up Mint On Card Inc, and it will pop up). I have pairs of the 4.3cm bow shoes, the converse look-a-likes, and the Mary Janes, and they all fit well. Congrats! She really is cute!

    9. Thank you so much alington - I see a few pair on that site that would be cute. I am going to try blue eyes I think as these are pretty, but don't really "pop" out.

    10. @Merlin's Mom your cheshire goon is so cute!!! I think most eye colors will look nice on her, though I quite like the ones she's using now. My PW tinies use 14mm mako eyes, but I don't know if cheshire has smaller eyes, they look more closed in any case.
For shoes you already got some nice recommendations! I try to buy shoes around 4.5cm lenght since their feet are 4cm.

I reviewed some shoes in my blog and used my PW Lady Alice as a model, if taobao is an option for you: YoSD shoes review – Fantasy woods

    11. Ellesmera thank you so much for the shoe review - I am going to track some down. I did change Constance's eyes and restyled her hair. I like the blue eyes, these are 12mm and there is a little gap so I may look for similar ones in 14mm. [IMG]

    12. Love this color, and OMG--the dress! So cute.

    13. Thank you :)

    14. I really like the blue with her, they're very striking.

    15. Thank you clochette - I have wanted a Cheshire Goon for a couple of years now so I am very happy that I finally got one - she is really much cuter in person than her photos.

    16. I've been debating between a Dorothy and a Cheshire Goon for my next PW.

    17. Oh they are both adorable - hard choice, but I think my favorite has always been Cheshire Goon. I think Fabric and Friends has a Dorothy in stock right now (not that I mean to be an enabler ;)).

    18. LOL...as alington can attest to, enabling is not an area where I need help ;)

Luckily, it's not an immediate need. Besides, I'm waiting until I get my group from YG at the moment, since that will be five dolls at once.

      • x 1
    19. Wow - that will be awesome. I left you a question on the YG thread. Dorothy is very lovely though.

    20. I'm going to ask a dumb question. What is YG? And LOL--five dolls at once? @clochette, you may not know this, but you are that one collector I have used in the past with my DH, like this: "Oh honey, this is fine, don't worry. There's this one collector I know--she buys her BJDs is bulk. I think she has over 100. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. At least I cycle through my collection." ;) Seriously, you are literally a marriage saver! (You'll be at BJDC, right? Come talk to me about Cheshire Goon after your rocking' sales!)

So one of my favorite FoFs has always been Lady Alice--I think she was released with the first Alice in Wickedland collection (she has the original single-joint body):

      by Alison Rasmussen, on Flickr

She's in top to toe Code Noir here, which, ahem, I'm sure she is just trying on for size and RL experience. The wig is called Fairytale--one of the least fussy styles in the world--and the outfit is Brown Candy Bear (also in pink and blue), and it includes a little bear, which I forgot for the photo. But the hat!! Ack! And the ballet shoes are in "butter." I just love them. :)
