Pear Shaped Trend....how do you feel?

Dec 21, 2011

    1. I love them, the bigger the pear the better. I have never really enjoyed the female dolls untill the release of the more pear shaped dolls. I now have added more and more girls to my list, the heavier the rear the more I adore them.

    2. I think some of the "pear shaped" bjds are beautiful. They look so very artistic, IMO. I would like to have one in my collection someday.

    3. I really like the pear shape, I have a DC Bella on the wayand her shape is what has me so in love with her and i really love her face!

    4. While I personally am not overly fond of the super pear aesthetic, I'm very glad to see more and more companies producing it. One of the things I love about this hobby is the diversity in sculpts available, and it's great to see new looks being introduced and becoming popular.

    5. I'm not a fan. Though they look really extraordinary.
I'm not against them, but I wouldn't get one. I like more hour-glass shaped bodies with more waist and more bust.

    6. I am not sure I ever own one at all. I am not a fan but I do think they are intresting

    7. Well, I think it's cute but not worth stressing over, clothing wise. But who knows, I may own one come a day when I master the sewing machine. :p

    8. Being a collector of only resin boys it's a bit of a moot topic for me, but I find that I prefer seeing a more hourglass shape on the girls I view, as opposed to pear. Really, were I to ever consider letting a female invade my crew, it would be one with bigger boobs, not a bigger butt ^^

    9. I think I have one. Do the DM Kids count? It makes it difficult to find pants and sew pants because most patterns don't account for such hips. Even as a pear-shaped person, myself, if you have a waist and hip measurement is very different, it can make pants buying almost impossible.

If more companies come out with pear-shaped bodies, then there will be more options available for pear-shaped dolls. I just don't like the super-exadurated pear shape, like the Leeke and Doll Chatau bodies.

    10. At first I didn't really care for the pear shaped bodies, but they are growing on me! I'm thinking of adding one to my collection. I'd have the body blushed & display it nude so finding clothes wouldn't be a problem for me :). I can see myself defending her to my husband, "Just think of all the money I'll save by not having to buy clothes for her! Really, she pays for herself! I'd be losing money if I didn't buy her..." lol

    11. I love the pear shaped bodies, especially since I base my dolls off of OCs of mine and one of them is very pear-shaped. So now I feel like I finally have the option to buy a doll of this character.

    12. I don't like pear shaped bodies but i really love Bella from Doll Chateau and theirs interesting body :) Only one problem is wide hips... :(

    13. Seems that some msd leggings can fit Bella nicely...

    14. I'm not a fan of pear-shaped dolls. They look off to me. While I appreciate these companies having a unique take on dolls, I just don't like it. I don't mind looking at them but that's about it.

One company I really am unhappy that the body is so pear shaped is Cerisedolls. I love their dolls and I think Constantine dyed blue would make a great Avatar fan doll. But the body is just too pear-shapped for my taste.. Last I checked you can't buy the head separate.

Plus, these body shapes limit clothing options to dresses or company specific clothing. I'm not down with that.. I like options.

    15. There could be a cerisedolls head order before the end of the year, it has yet to be confirmed.

    16. Wow! It seems like we all have really strong opinions on here! I (the person who started this thread) have personally been warming up to them xD... I love the new dollzone kid bodies and am grabbing after one for a floating head.

    17. I find the exaggerated ridiculous balloon like boobs more offensive and off-putting than the pear shaped woman which is actually more of a natural shape. I own 2 Doll Chateau girls because I love their long gangly arms and legs with wider hips. I was attracted to their bodies in an instant. They are every bit as attractive and sexy IMO. I would not hesitate to buy more of them.

    18. I really like them. I find them adorable and the pear shape does not deter me. :fangirl:They have inspired me to learn to draft patterns, knit and sew. I have four of them and I really enjoy coming up with ideas to style them. Truth be told I have been spending more time on them then my other dolls. :sweat

    19. I find them ridiculously cute, honestly. I'm not sure how actually clothing them would go down, but I like the approach nevertheless. Initially when I saw some companies taking on the pear shaped body for some of their dolls (Mikhala comes to mind here) I wondered what they were thinking, but I like to think of it as diversifying the body types in the doll world, since we humans aren't all one general shape either. That being said, I don't know if I see myself owning one just because for the most part the aesthetics don't fit in with my projected vision of a dolly crew, but I like seeing them ^^

    20. I think I posted once saying that I'm not huge fan of them. I don't really like super exaggerated pear shape by Leeke World or Doll Chateau. But I love Unoa body, which look less severe and in my opinion, rather beautiful!
