Pear Shaped Trend....how do you feel?

Dec 21, 2011

    1. Other then the stylised Doll Chateau bodies, i don't really care for them.
But of course, more variety is always good.

    2. I doubt that I would ever get one just because of the difficulty in finding clothes for them. The shape is very fey, which I can appreciate, but since I don't make my own clothes, it'd be more difficulty than it would be worth to actually get one of my own.

    3. The Leeke World Mikhala is a copy of the Dust of Doll's PUNs as sad as that may seem, so there's them. I've been trying to find an SD girl with wide hips, (though not ridiculously so) and natural looking breasts for a while now. I still haven't one in my collection. :(

    4. I think it's adorable! I know a number of women who have very small breasts but LARGE hips/bottom.

    5. Personally it's not to my taste. I prefer either hourglass or fully slim, but that's because I'm not those things. I certainly don't have anything against it though.

    6. I don't mind realistically pear shaped dolls, though they're not very high on my aesthetic list, but the really exaggerated bodies like Doll Chateau completely put me off. I can say with complete certainty that I will never buy one, I just don't find them in any way appealing. :/

    7. I find the pear shape to be rather beautiful, both my sister and best friend have this very shape! I'm quite envious of them, however the trend is alright with me! One thing would bother me, that would be if the majority of dolls had this shape because I love having diversity in body shape!

    8. I love them. I like that they are different. I'm starting to get bored with the same old thing and lately I've been drawn to the more unique sculpts. I had a DC Merlin, but had to sell her. I'm currently waiting for a DC baby body for my Dollmore Dear Doll Popo head. It never even occured to me that that body was overtly sexual in any way. I just thought they looked like a cute pudgy baby. Now it seems that a bunch of people are going to think I'm a perv for having a baby face on one of those bodies. :?

    9. I really like the pear-shaped dolls. I wish there were more "natural" body shapes around, they're absolutely gorgeous! If only I could find one I really really liked of them, I would totally have one. I sew my own doll clothes most of the time so it's no big deal.

    10. I love them! they are so cute with their big bottoms! :D Its nice to have differences since in real life we are all different.

    11. I think they look good dressed, but I am not going to buy an exaggerated pear shaped doll.
I don't really like over-plumpness of tops or bottoms in general. It's weird for me.

    12. So I went looking to see what the Aoi Tuki and Unoss bodies like because I've never seen them before, and I have to say I like them a lot more than I like Mikhaila or any of the other pear-shaped but otherwise childlike bodies out there.

    13. I love dolls that are pear shaped! I really want the Mikhaila one day, even though she is hard to dress...

    14. I think the pear shape looks interesting. I've only seen the doll chateau though and love the look of them. It doesn't look awkward and instead gives them a very unique artsy look. I would get one in a heartbeat if they weren't so expensive...

    15. I haven't seen too many, but anything that makes a doll harder to dress, or its clothes less interchangeable with other dolls, isn't for me.

    16. I really don't like them. They seem really disproportionate to me :/

    17. I do like pear-shaped women in general but with dolls, I really think it depends on the company making them. Leeke World Mikhala reminds me of the Elin from Tera Online. They look like rather young, childlike girls with really wide hips. I really like Mikhala's proportions. With some of the other bodies though, the dolls look almost alien with their pear torsos and lanky limbs. Not really my cup of tea but I think they're still neat. I'm sure that this trend is going to continue evolving and I'd like to see what happens with it.

    18. I think they're a bit too unrealistic. They look cute in dresses but that's about it. Clothes would be hard to buy for them and they're not anatomically correct enough for me...

    19. When I first saw them, I found them to be unattractive but artistic. Now that I've seen more of them sprouting up, it's apparent thast people must really like them. I still don't finf them attractive however after seeing them dressed in historical clothing, i live the look. However the same look can be acheived with the proper undergarments, so I'm not sold on a doll that can't wear all of my favorite outfits.

    20. At first I wasn't a fan of pear-shaped dolls at ALL, but then they started to grow on me. I love the style of Doll Chateau and am planning on getting an Alberta body for my floating head, though I do find the Mikhaila body a little too exaggerated for my tastes. It looks adorable with the oversized Florence heads though. :)
