Pear Shaped Trend....how do you feel?

Dec 21, 2011

    1. I honestly really like it. I think the pear-shaped body with slim limbs (like with Doll Chateau's dolls) is really cute and unique! I can understand how it might not be to everyone's taste, though.

    2. I think the exaggerated shapes are fun, but when I think about finding "normal" modern clothing for them...
My god I would have to make everything myself! XD

    3. I really like the pear-shape, but I just love VARIETY to be honest. I love having choice that makes a group of dolls more realistic because they are not all on the same frame. But I admit that I really love the Doll-Chateau shape, it's really a beautiful shape even if it's not really a realistic one.

    4. I don't mind the shape. I like the variety other than the "normal" body shape. However, since it is an unusual shape I imagine that it would be hard to find clothes. And since I'm new a sewing, I personally wouldn't get one.

    5. The Leeke World Mikhala doll was the first BJD I ever fell inlove with and she is currently my desktop background, I'm not too fond of the face but that body is soooo freakin adorable :D I would love to own that body one day.

    6. I think they're interesting and unique, but definitely not for me.
I love large busts, and small chests are rather characteristic of the pear-shaped dolls.
Besides, it's pretty difficult to find proper clothing for them, so I shy away from those kind of body shapes.

    7. I want my next doll to be of the larger hipped variety.
I am way into Lillycat's dolls and check her page like a freak for news.

    8. Recently they've been becoming too exaggerated for my personal liking

    9. :/ ... I'm not really keen on them cos I favour realistic dolls ...
Oh maybe if there were an SD size of pear-shaped dolls I would consider :O
      (Is there?)

    10. I thought that shape was odd at first and I didn't really like it... But over time I'm starting to really love it. I've been thinking about getting a Doll Chateau doll someday. Oh, and I do have Dollzone GuoGuo who has a similar sort of shape. She's the first pear-shaped doll I really noticed and I fell in love with her. She's definitely my current favorite out of my dolls. :)

    11. Ehh...I don't care for most of them. If it's just slight then I think it looks good, but when the doll's hips are way wider then it's shoulders then that's when it loses me.

      Edit: Meant 'way wider'.

    12. I love it! I really love the DC bodies and hopefully I'll have one someday. :) However, I do want variety, so I love seeing other body types as well. :)

    13. I honestly love the pear-shape. It's cartoon-y and over-exaggerated but that adds a flare of fun to it. These dolls can be based off of anything, and I think that too many companies are sticking to the same shapes too much. I mean, I love most traditional doll bodies as well, but I like the change up of having the option for a girl with really wide hips.
I just wish that they'd make more in an SD size.

    14. I like them because they're unique, especially the Doll Chateau bodies, but I don't think I'll ever own one myself.

    15. I'm kinda iffy right now about it. I have a pear shaped body so when I look at the really exaggerated ones I can't help but think 'Wow is this how people see me?' O.o

    16. I am a newer collector and the pear shape is not my first choice, but variety is great.

    17. I personally do not like the pear shape. The body just does not look proportioned at all. Due to being awkwardly proportioned, it is much harder to find clothes that fit them unless you make the clothes, which not everyone does.

HOWEVER, even though I do not like them, I think they are a little more unique like Doll Chateau; I think they have beautiful dolls and that is probably the only exception I have to the pear shape.

    18. I think they're nice, but I don't like them when they are super out of proportion. I try not to buy pear-shaped dolls because I'm afraid if I buy them pants they wouldn't fit.

    19. I'm an art student.. and they kind of look like my drawings and paintings. For me they're really the only kind of body i'm interested in. Dolls that don't come on a pear shaped body I'm planning on just getting as heads and putting on one :blush I think they're absolutely stunning.

    20. !I love it! Loooooove! I have a Leekeworld Mikhaila and she is beautiful to look at! I have a Nefer Kane Iracebeth on the way, and a Doll Chateau girl!
only drag is finding clothes for them! :sweatLol.

I also like them because I'm an artist, and like drawing the exaggerated female figure. They are great muses! ^___^
