Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Pear Shaped Trend....how do you feel?

Dec 21, 2011

    1. I'm not a fan of them. I prefer balance in the bodies of dolls. They are interesting to look at and I do like seeing Doll Chateau dolls, but I don't want to own one.

    2. No interest here. Some are kind of cute, but in general I'm not a fan of the style. But then again, I prefer boy dolls.

    3. I don't care much for pear shaped bodies though my Constantine's body is kinda pear shaped. I was worried about balance and finding clothes to fit but I was in love with her face so I couldn't resist. She poses just fine though and I found out most MSD clothes fit her. I think face plays a bigger role for me when I'm deciding on a doll than the body... x3

    4. all of the above are excellent points. i didn't like the leekworld body at first but it is starting to grow on me. but how to you buy clothes for her?

    5. I actually don't mind the exaggerated pear shaped bodies but I am a fan the more unusual looking dolls like those from Doll Chateau and Nefer Kane

    6. i think they would be really nice for fantasy type characters, none of which mine are (yet), but i have seen some that are really sweet looking. i do like the natural pear shape of women, as well as hourglass, and extremely petite and almost frail looking frames, so it's not hard for me to find something i love.

    7. I like Leekeworld's art bodies but Doll Chateau bodies are just.... too much imo. They kind of creep me out tbh. And not in a good way haha.

    8. Not a fan of the pear shape but I do enjoy seeing diversity... so while they aren't a personal preference of mine I am glad they are around. :)

    9. I have no objections whatsoever! The more variety the better c:
Doll Chateau, Dollzone, Dust of Dolls and Leekeworld all have some wonderfully sculpted pear-shaped lovelies.

    10. I am so in love with dust of dolls body's.... I think out of all the companies trying to get pear shaped right DOD is just perfect. Seeing there Lunn, I sold off all my bjd because it truly seems like the only thing diffrent about dolls coming out now adays is the face sculpt and I don't think it fair to throw down mad cash any more just for a "diffrent face" same body! Pear shape done right is so perfect.. Thanks dust of dolls!!!!!!!

btw I'm like a size 1 .. Tiny waist bigger chest and I think all you girls with pear shape bodies are insanely cute.. I wish!

    11. Using Doll Chateau as an example, I do like the type of pear shape K-body-01 has, though the newest, k-body-07, is too exaggerated for me. Maybe if the waist is going past around mid-arm on a thin doll, it's a bit much for my aesthetic. Though I think a lot of it depends on how the rest of the body is sculpted. Balance, as others have said. But as far as them being seen around more, I think it's nice, but it would be interesting to see where other changes could happen.

    12. *Looked at Leeke World Mikhala* Oh God, this is... :o I... I have nothing to say ^^""" I'm not just not a fan of this form of the body, I immediately turn away from such work. I dislike not only such factory dolls, but art dolls with a pear shape immediately become faceless for me.

    13. I like the leeke world pear shaped girl Mikhala personally but I dont like the version they did with the giant crystal skull style head and even though I like Mikhala I wish the bust was more proportionate to her shape because there is nothing wrong with a pear shape as long as the whole body is in proportion

    14. I have a Mikhala and I love her body and I also have a DC Bella. I have a diverse doll collection. I also have a Dollmore Alexia, she is quite large compared to the norm for MSD girls. Variety is the spice of life.

    15. I looove them, and I also love seeing diversity within the BJD market. Definitely on my wish list.

    16. I love them. I fully believe that variety is the spice of life. If every doll looked the same I would not be interested in them. They would be incredibly boring. There are a lot of dolls that I can't stand to look at but I'm still glad they're out there. We need variety.

    17. I think they are very cool because they are different. I like fantasy (as well as more realistic) BJDs and they can make for some great characters I'm sure. They remind me of cartoon characters that have come to life, very fun in my opinion. No plans yet but I could see myself getting an exaggerated doll at some point.

    18. Actually, I love dolls like this. I'm a sucker for exaggerations in dolls and the whole really wide hip thing is great. I REALLY like it when the legs are bowed from the hips, the distortion is just. . .ah, it's wonderful.

    19. I'm into them! Why only settle for whats humanly possible right?

    20. I absolutely love the pear shaped body!! I'm a big fan of body diversity in this hobby, so any alternative to the norm is something I'm definitely interested in.
