1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Pear Shaped Trend....how do you feel?

Dec 21, 2011

    1. Being a pagan, and something of an armchair anthropologist, I have to say they remind me of a lot of the pictures I've seen of fertility statues produced by various ancient cultures.

Also, they look a lot like the cover art I saw, when I stumbled across several issues of what was apparently some type of Japanese men's pornographic magazine, for auction on Mandarake. A magazine that seemed to cater to men with a taste for Lolita type females with exaggerated pear shaped bodies.

I personally don't find dolls with this shape attractive or appealing, just as I don't find dolls with hourglass figures or ridiculously enlarged breasts attractive or appealing.

      To each his own. ^_^

I'll stick with my lovely, slender, androgynous, mostly boy, dolls. Thank you. I'll leave the 'pears' for others to pick! ^_~

    2. i dont like them at all and i think they kinda look ugly.. BUT thast just me.. i will never own one thats for sure

    3. I love them, but then again I really want to have diverse body types in my collection. I'm waiting for a plus sized doll.

    4. I really really like the Pear shaped bodies. Especially the Doll Chateau and Leeke World bodies. They are very cute! :aheartbea

    5. I really like them but I wouldn't own one the clothing is a killer to find for some of them :)

    6. I'm personally a big fan of Doll Chateau thou. But the bigger ones are more.. slim pear-shaped? I really like the bodies. Not the little ones, but the bigger slim ones. Although clothing them can be a real pain indeed :XD:

    7. I find it refreshing to see other body types like the pear-shape; I bought a DZ Mika for that reason. I'm just the type of person that likes to see a variety of body types and like to see how different companies create them.

    8. I love it! :love Dollzone and Dust of Dolls are some of my favorite companies because of their adorable hips. I also really love the new FL Moe body, which has a sort of less-stylized pear shape to it. I am super picky about bodies and I don't like it if the hips are too narrow. The A-line bodies are actually what put me off from ever buying a MNF, but with the new M-line.... Well, the fact that I now have reason to post in the FL waiting room speaks volumes haha.

    9. I quite like it, though I don't know if I'd ever own a doll with that kind of body.

    10. As a pear shaped girl, myself....I love this!!! It's good to see an expansion of body shapes compared to the limited choices from, say, five years ago.

    11. I really want to see some pear-shaped SD girls, being a tall pear shaped girl myself. I think that pear-shaped dolls are a great trend because they are an example of the diversity of body shapes among women. If companies see that people are willing to buy curvy sculpt dolls then they too might start making curvy doll bodies that are more accessible to the rest of the hobby :)

    12. I'm okay with the pear shape integration because it is actually something more common for females who have widened hips. The popular hour glass look is not nearly as common. But it would be really cool if a company made several kinds of body types. Thin and tall, or plump and wide, ect.

    13. I love the pear shape. I prefer small bust and the dolls with some bottom to sit on. I like the DC dolls and I've just received my first FreakStyle Eve and just love her shape. There is a pear shaped Dust of Dolls girl coming to me too so I guess I really like the shape. But then on the other hand I like the thin one's too and the boys which have to have some shoulders to please my eye.

    14. I think they're cute. I don't know if I'll ever buy one, but they really are adorable.

    15. I'm all for pear shaped dolls, I love them~! <3 But some dolls just pull it off better then others~

    16. The more I look at them, the more I am falling in love with the pear-shaped DCs. While I have no clue how/where I'll ever find anything to wear for them, I am at a point where I am seriously thinking about not just getting one (Zora) but two (not yet really decided, maybe an SD size)...

    17. I think they're adorable. But then again, I love the fantasy-type dolls that look surreal or just exaggerated. That's one of the things I love about BJDs - there's something for everyone.

But I would also love to see more curvy/plump dolls in general.

    18. I really love them. I have two dolls with the Leeke Art body B. The minute I got the first one, I started looking to see what other companies made something similar. I actually love pretty much all the artsy shapes, the wide hips of the pear shape, the lanky thinnesss of DC, any tyoe of body that looks like it stepped out of a painting. Since I only collect YoSD or smaller, they can be harder to find though!

    19. A lot of my characters are very hippy (mostly down to my drawing style) so I LOVE the wide hipped BJDs, there was one ...Orange tea? or something which looked like a Pullip with hips WIDER than the oversized head XD she was glorious! Indie made but cute none the less. Very sort of, short stack/ betty boopish but with the biggest bootay ever XD Made me smile.
