1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Pets for your BJDs / finding or making one

Jan 16, 2005

    1. Oh man. Now I want a Wong BADLY!

    2. I'm getting one of the obitsu dogs, and I intend to use it as a skeleton and cover it with mohair fabric. With any luck it will keep all the mobility, but look like a real dog! I'm not sure of the scale, but hey, dogs come in all sizes!

    3. I'm a little surprised just how much I'm loving her... I was intending her to be a companion to my Pukisha, but I think Hiromassa may become the leader of my tiny pack!

I'm also happily surprised by how well the rement clothing fits her. (Squee) <runs off to dress up the kitty some more.>

    4. Thanks for the pics Trinlayk, I can't wait till CD puts them up again in a couple months - I plan on getting on toooo! Great to see some owner pics!

And Catdancer - we are discussing them as accessories, not as dolls themselves, and I think that is allowed, after all we can discuss wings and fers...

Kez, good idea, let us know how it turns out!

    5. Souldoll makes a ball-jointed dog!!! -called Grey- he's SD-sized, i'm pretty sure -Off topic on DoA, though...-
I want one ;_; and then I know Obitsu makes those skeleton strutcture dog things with a bunch of poseable points but... they look like... robotic skeletons... >.>

EDIT! I just saw that you guys were talking more as accessories, not as real dolls... so...
      disregard what I said previously...?

    6. I understand that, I was just mentioning because you don't see many Petdolls or other animals dolls on here..and someone may wonder why...that's all.

    7. actually the BJD Grey doll from Souldoll is MSD sized....I posted a picture of him already here in this thread, pg 2 I do beleive. I have one and he's the perfect size for my two boys. ^_^

    8. I was thinking of doing that same thing so I definitely want to see what the dog looks like next to a resin doll! I'm thinking at the very least it could serve as the puppy version of Yoru's dog...

    9. I just bought a Beanie Baby for mine today. Even though its a little big, I think it works just fine as a very fat white cat that follows him around and tries to eat his food... I am looking for a VERY FLUFFY red pomeranian, though, but I can't imagine how TINY a 1/3 Pommie would have to be!

    10. Pets for BJDs would be really cool. I've actually got a small cat sculpture thingy (it's got fur and stuff, but it's not move-able) that's about the size for my doll. I'm going to put it in his house/room when I make one~ :D

    11. I am just about done with the Shiba Inu I made my doll, just need to paint him and fix one joint that shrank different!

And Wong is in stock again at Camellia Dynasty for anyone who wants one, I just ordered one!

    12. I really want a Soul Doll Aku, just cause he is so so so cute. More cartoony than real cat but still adorable. Unfortunately none of my characters have pet cats (well Amaryllis has a demon boy she considers her pet cat, but not quite the same).

I actually have a dog that weighs 5lbs, she is about in scale to a 60-70cm doll as a large breed. Of course convincing Blue that she wants to be a doll's pet is not going over so well.

I have crocheted pets and toys for my dolls in the past but nothing to terribly realistic. I think I may have to try out some needle felting and see if I have more luck. I'm thinking a felted Akita would be a perfect pet for Killian.

    13. i am sure that ppl see pipos dolls as more like ppl then pets characters, but i think that they may also work as a slightly unconventional looking pet.

    14. I've collected stuffed animals since I was little and in my collection I have tons of littles ones that would fit a March perfectly! Once I find one and get her home I can give her one of them as a welcome home present! n_n

    15. Back when I was into AG (WAAYYYY BACK) I had bought a lot of animals for my girl, and have now since sold, or plan to sell, all of them EXCEPT for one, an older Molly's Bennet. It's this little bendable orange and white terrier thing, and it's the perfect size to be some sort of jack russel mix. However, AG has changed what Bennet looks like, so I wouldn't buy one now if you're going for realism. The new one's too cartoony for my taste. Still, I love the fact that you can pose him, and if you work really hard, you can even get him to pose super realistically. None of my current dolls would even own a pet as small and adorable as Charile (as I have now re-named him), but I'm saving him for any future dolls who might want a pal.

As for the other animals, only Kirsten's cats were any good, scale wise. Coconut and Licorice were HUGE and totally solid, and the horses were too small. Maybe they could work for a MSD, but not for any of my SDs. Most of these pets were discontinued anyway, which is sad.

    16. Finally finished my Shiba Inu!

    17. [IMG][IMG][IMG]Okay, Walmart carries itsy bitsy stuffies called Whimsey Pets. The have whales, dogs, cats, bears, mice, etc.

      Example mouse:
(for scale AF Lily 1/4 msd)

      Feta mouse:

I think they ran, at least at my Walmart, $2.49 and make great little friends for my doll.

    18. My dolls have a rabbit fur cat named Mr. Pillows that I picked up from an ebay store.

    19. I think, "Whimzy Pets" would work well for the smaller sizes. They'd actually be pretty small, even on an MSD, but with tinies they'd work quite well. They aren't super realistic, but at least they aren't cartoony, and they come in a good variety.

    20. I have just recieved an unicorn from dollfactory(Pet ari, connie). His name is Mythos and he is so cute and bad :XD: I bought it for my Syen(soom) but he arrived too soon!!DollFactory has a lot of cute pet,I love them!!
