1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Pets for your BJDs / finding or making one

Jan 16, 2005

    1. My crew has several kind of pets, from plush (Yomiko Classics cats, Karu Banpresto DX plush) to not (Mega Bloks dragon, Revoltech Sony Jun Mihara) and they go from a rat toy for cats to a plushie cushion whale, including in between two flocked horses of two different sizes. My bunch has even a little resin (nDoll Petdoll Boston Terrier-Duct) puppy dog. I always try to follow 1/3 scale also for these small (Some of them not that small) friends, although it is not always possible, and I never accept real fur for them.

Next the kind of pet friends among my resin group:

    2. I have a lot of stuffed animals, so one of them, a dog named Sir Tobias, found my boy))

    3. After reading this, I think I should start making needle felted animals in doll scale. I've made a number of them before, but not to doll scale. They have pipe cleaner skeletons underneath their wool, so they are pose-able. Great for dollies.

    4. I was actually thinking of making a bunny plush for my doll. I guess that could be like.. a pet? XD;

    5. I just bought a Halloweenie babies pumpkin for my yo-sd today! It's a good size for him to cuddle with XD

    6. I was lucky, I was shopping in a tacky souvenir shop and they happened to have these small curled-up sleeping fox figures with realistic looking soft fur, and they just happened to be the perfect size to scale to my SD. So now Alexis has a pet fox that curls up on his lap or at his feet (depending on how he's posing)

    7. I have this stuffed puppy that I love to death, her name is Sky ... even though she's too big for dollies proportionally, she's going to be their pet-thing xD

    8. I found a pet for my MSD in a souvenir shop as well. The cute little rabbit is only a bit to big for her, but I personnaly don't mind. They do look really cute together. :)

    9. I guess my dolls pet will be Fairies from DZ, I haven't received any of them yet, but it's these two I bought

    10. ........................wow.

'scuse me. I had to remind myself I just bought a doll and my bank account is still recovering. That tulip fairie doll is... just.... so cool looking!!

Anyway, my purpose for coming in here:
Farm&Fleet, Tractor Supply Company or similar farm stores carry small figurines, meant for kids. I havent gotten one to compare to a doll (still waiting for doll) but they look like theyd at least match up with tinies or minies. They have tractors too that would be in scale for SD toys.

    11. My Kuzon got a plushy polarwolf as fake white shepherd as pet <3

    12. Well I'll get them little teddy bears from time to time. I also have a R2000(Masha from tokyo mew mew).

    13. I have a pretty detailed dragon figurine that my mom bought me cuz she knows I like dragons. I think it'll probably be the perfect size for my tiny to ride. Not sure if I'll do that, though, cuz I'm one of those people that are of the mind that putting BJDs with non posable figurines just doesn't look right for some reason. For the most part it looks like they're holing a toy rather than playing with a pet. But then again my tiny is a bunny anthro so why not just go nuts? lol

I love the ball jointed animals I've seen linked here, but I don't think I'd get one. Too much money for me to spend on a pet for my doll. Dunno why I feel this way, but I do. That and if I were to fork over that amount of money for a pet to pose with my dolls, I'd want it to be able to sit properly. They still have a little work to do on getting the legs to move so the animals can take a natural sitting pose.

Sadly I guess my dolls will have to be petless because I seem to be too picky. Although Tovi sorta had a pet rabbit when we were in Canada. I have a pic of him sitting on a real rabbit's back. Admiral Bunny-Brow was very tolerant of my doll. So is my cat, as I have a pic of Tovi lying with his head on my cat's stomach. I guess that means my dolls prefer real animals to fake. :sweat

    14. I think it would be ok though, as long as you had the pet with an on topic doll. You're allowed to show off topic dolls with ones that are on topic, so as long as the pet was always with its owner in the pics then I think it would be ok. I wish people WOULD show off their ball jointed animals this way, if they have them. I'd really like to see pics other than the ones on the site cuz factory pics rarely do anything justice. I'd love to see owner pics of Grey.
(a mod can feel free to correct me if I've interpreted the rules incorrectly)

    15. You know, it could always be a giant breed of rabbit. :3

I'm gonna have measure my MSD up to my large collection of dogs to see if any fit. Makes me want to make a site full of pictures of dogs and dolls xD

    16. Edit: Thanks for finding this thread for me! :) I don't know how I couldn't find it.

    17. Apologies if this is in the wrong place.

I was just wondering how many people have pet owning dolls? If so, are they just props for the dolly room, or are they an important part of their character? How about pets that are actually animal BJDs?

Personally I'm trying to track down an MSD-scale owl and horse for my future wood elf...the owl can be made easily enough, but has anyone got a horse for their mini?

Pics more than welcome, lets see all those cute creatures! ;)

    18. Eleanor, my Doll leaves R girl kind of has a pet. She has another doll, Dove whos a tiny. Dove was an impulse buy (bad me) and then she just kind of became Eleanors. I've been thinking of selling her...but Eleanor would be so mad lol!

    19. That is cute. ^_^ I would like to get a BJD dog for my future doll, although since I'm getting an SID (65cm) girl, it would have to be one huge dog. o_o
