Pets for your BJDs / finding or making one

I originally bought two pipos (bao and baha) as pets for dolls, but they quickly got their own rement house and became entities of their own. Then I bought a dollzone dog for the same purpose, but with his cute little outfit he's kind of become like an elemental spirit so it seems like everytime I try to buys pets for dolls it somehow fails Though the plus idea is interesting, I may have to look into that!

 

Mei her wolf Seth (a beanie baby dog) and I tried to get my real dogs to be her friend but they are terrified of her they start backing away with their tails between their legs and one of my dogs starts barking at her XD

 

I have a tiny owl I bought before getting my doll. It's a little too small for him since he's an SD, but it'd be the perfect size for a MSD. I don't mind though because it's so cute ^^

 

well there are companys who make b.j.animals like petdoll and then there's the many anthro dolls that some use as pets for their dolls.

I've also noticed some people use animals from a company (I think called GooHa ) there handmade animals made from goat fur and can be quite realistic looking and come in MANY sizes and animal types. Heres a site that sells some, but they've been known to pop-up in stores.

 

I think most of my dolls would like cats. I love dogs and cats equally myself, but I intend to get a cat soonish (within the next two weeks, hopefully). I wouldn't mind getting a tiny Boston Terrier or other dog just because I love them myself, but they wouldn't be about the dolls. XD

 

I haven't made a tangible form of the animal, but Hikaru is supposed to have a bear-sheep chimera for a pet.

Has any of you ever seen a real BJD animal? And I don't mean dolls like Zuzu Delf or something, but realistic-looking animals with ball joints to be anatomically correct. (I really, really want to get a pet dog for my girl, and not just some toy-looking plastic thing but a realistic one.) This is what Wikipedia told me:

So, if you've ever seen one or know somebody owning or selling these, please tell me.

Also if you've seen non-ball jointed pets (like the dog Dolkot is selling, or should I say sold, I've never seen it in stock...) that would look good in 1/3 scale, I would love to have one. Dogs, cats, birds, anything. And I'm sure that there are others too, who would love to have a pet for their dolls.

Hmm, the dolls made by Petdoll dont seem to be ball-jointed to me but more like Luts' Minimi Zuzu Delfs which - seems to me - aren't actually what most of us mean when talking about ball jointed dolls, with strings and all. They seem to be more like Barbies in their jointing and that's not what I was looking for. That's also why they're offtopic, right?

Anyway, I was looking for something similar to Souldoll's Chiron (meaning the animal - wannabehorse - body. Don't get me wrong, I love him, he just don't look like a horse at all ^^). If it's okay to discuss about a ball jointed doll with animal body and a ball jointed doll with animal head, I can't see why it's not okay to talk about both of them together... But well, because it's not, I would like to talk about them as accessories for dolls, so it shoud be okay, right?

 

My dolls have lots of pets, not the Petdolls which I don't find to be very realistic or appealing. They have some fur covered cats, some vintage Steiff dogs & a variety of different jointed plush cats & dogs that I've found. Just keep your eyes open for animals in the correct scale. You'd be surprised at how much is available.

 

That eBay seller seems to be gone, as are all the pictures. Any idea, where I could find a pet for a doll? Have seen any recently?

 

yikes, gone! Small pets are cute though.... I remember seeing a book on how to make small stuffed toys once

I've been meaning to make Hikaru a pet albino squirrel out of model magic. Just a tiny one to sit on his shoulder, or in his hand, for a photoshoot. I keep forgetting to buy some of that stuff though.

For an interesting but not very realistic (or fuzzy) pet, I would look at collectible vinyl toys. I have a bunch and my boy adopted one as his pet, a Tokidoki Skeletrino toy (http://www.tokidoki.it/shop/toys/skeletrino-vinyl-toy.html). I think its adorable, and D seems to really like him xD

 

My gang have a number of pets, everything from antique German fur cats, to vintage Steiff to real fur cats & any cute, jointed animal I happen to find. I wish the fur ones were articulated but they're so cute & you can get them in perfect sizes. My other ones are jointed so I can pose them interacting with the dolls.

 

Mine don't have any pets yet... but I plan to make them some in the future. The first to receive a pet will be my Spock who will get his very own Tribble. But I have plenty of mohair to make something small and fuzzy.
