Still wishing my mini mermaid would come in! *shakes fist* I got her head back from the face-up artist and it's AMAZING, but I need the body to show it off. (I'm going to hybrid an f-doll head onto her, if that was confusing.)

 

Yes, but have you seen the new mermaid doll video? Where the owner attempts to give the doll a faceup using markers?
Do a youtube search for new mermaid doll, and it should come up.

I've been talking to Angie at Oobiedoll and it sounds like they should be coming in any time. At this point I'm thinkiing I'll just put it under the tree, since I won't have time now to do anything with her until after Christmas anyway.

 

Hello hello! I've been considering getting a planetdoll mini body for my halfling character, because I really like the maturity of the sculpt. Unfortunately none of the planetdoll heads seem to match my character very well. Does anyone here know of any good resin matches for planetdoll? I tried checking the resin comparison thread but I couldn't find anything. Thanks!

 

When I finally get mine I can compare it to a couple of dolls I have. From the photos it looks really paper white, so I'm suspecting it'll match my Resinsoul girl.

Has anyone checked the fit of Marley clothing on your minis?

 

Yes - they were too big. Much too big. This girl is more barbie size. But the shoes sold for Marley sometimes do fit!

Cyador is totally right on both counts. Marley's body is larger than the minis' bodies, but they *can* share shoes and some clothing items can be adapted to work. I ran upstairs to get my Riz and Hermione just now so I can compare while I'm typing. I'm just gonna say Riz & Hermione instead of minis and Marley 'cause that's who I have down here right now.

For shoes:
When I compare Riz and Hermione's feet; Riz's are shorter by about half a toe length, but they're pretty well matched width-wise, so sharing shoes is a *big* yes. I have the complete Gryffindor uniform for Hermione and the slip on shoes fit Riz just as well as they do on Hermione. They are a little loose when worn with thin socks or no socks, but I think that's because they were meant to be worn with the thick tights that came with the outfit.

I recently bought 4 pairs of Marley sized canvas sneakers from Jujus Dolly Mall http://www.jujusdollymall.com/cgi-bin/spgm?dpt=H&srch=DW&item=4044 and they fit Riz wonderfully. I'm going to put thinner laces in them though 'cause I think the scale is off, but other than that; I'm super pleased with them. They've got a whole selection of shoes here http://www.jujusdollymall.com/cgi-bin/dept?dpt=H&srch=DW&tier2=33 so as the seasons change; I'll be shopping for more.

For clothes:
There are a few options. I'm using a combination of Hermione clothes, Kari Mitchell Designer's Choice mix and match pieces for Barbie, regular Barbie clothing and even a few Fashion Royalty and Tiny Kitty Collier items. If I didn't have to dress Hermione too, I would just close the back seams and get rid of all the velcro closures and I probably will for a few things that I'll use only for Riz. Being able to dress her without her head is a *huge* bonus.

The coats and Jackets from the Kari Mitchell packs fit *perfectly*. The sweaters have a bit oof an overlap, but since they close with velcro, you can velcro the closing wherever you need it to get the fit you like. I'm kicking myself for getting rid of the majority of my KM pieces this past summer, but I did it before I even though about adopting Riz, so.... Right now I've got Riz dressed in the white long sleeved cotton shirt from Hermione's uniform, Hermione's dark grey tights and a stretchy, sleeveless back opening barbie sweater. The shirt is a little loose and the sleeves are a touch long, but the sweater pulls the shirt close to Riz's body and the white shirt sleeves button at the wrist, so the length is no problem. The tights come up a little above Riz's waist, but the fit is good otherwise and they look more like leggings than tights. Over all the look is *very* cute.

I bought her a Barbie PJ set a few days ago and everything in it fits perfectly. I've also found some of the slimmer looking Ken clothing will work too. I had her in a pair of slim fit Ken jeans and a cute little top for our last doll meeting and she looked *adorable*. Ken clothes have the added bonus of fitting Hermione, Harry and Ron, so that's cool.

With the Fashion Royalty stuff, some of the stretchy tops made for the Nu Face bodies will fit with no alterations or overlapping needed. I just switched the black Barbie sweater vest for a grey top made for the Nu Face girls...sorry I can't remember the name....and it's great. The additional fabric from the white shirt fills it out wonderfully.

Riz doesn't have her face up done yet, but I plan to take some pictures of her this weekend wearing some of the different pieces. I can post a link to my picturetrail album once the pictures are uploaded if you'll like to see them.

First I've gotta apologize in advance for the cruddy pics. I'm not the best photographer under normal circumstances, but I was doing these at 3am with flash, so.... But, even with that, you can get a good idea on fit and stuff. My little girl wasn't thrilled about being shown with no face or hair, but I'll make it up to her later.

Here's a foot comparison of Riz with Hermione. I couldn't get Riz's foot to stay flat on the tale top with Hermione's, but the difference in length isn't that big.
