Now I see resin color match is very complicate matter.

I think I should make bodies too....
It will take a long time, but worth to try.

I got my Vergil head today (NS) and compared it to my Dollmore, Senior Delf, Unoa, WS AOD, Leekeworld and Dollstown Freshskin dolls. Of the lot of them, the WS AOD body is a decent match and decent fit, but the Dollstown Freshskin is almost perfect!! It's the 5-years boy body, and proportion-wise it's a little large and a little young (so the 7-year body might not work very well), but I love the match! If I can find similar resins to DT's freshskin I'll be set. I'll post pictures real soon!

 

Ok, pictures as promised! There are quite a few:


Here he is on the AOD body. Excuse the heavy blushing, it's best if you compare to just the arm which is unblushed and has no MSC. As you can see the colour match is pretty close, but Vergil's head is definitely darker. Proportion-wise it's not too bad.


Now I didn't expect much when I put Vergil next to my DT Ganga, since as you can see Ganga's head is HUGE in comparison. I'd say Vergil is probably around 7" around and Ganga's about 8". They are pretty much on opposite ends of the MSD size scale.


But when I put Vergil on the body, not only is the resin match really close, but the proportions are surprisingly not too bad. The body's torso is blushed so it's better to compare to the arms and legs which are unblushed and have no MSC.


Here are a few pictures of the body. Not too bad! But I still find the body (which is the 5-year old) a little young... Also excuse the girly panties, it looks like I misplaced his briefs, but the body is definitely male. It doesn't make a difference though since the 5-year boy and girl bodies are identical except for you know what.

Here are a couple of other comparisons for colour: On the left is my Leekeworld Lana, as you can see she's pretty pinky. On the right is my Dollmore Isaac, and although it seems like the resin match is ok, this girl's almost 3 years old and a little yellowed. I have a newer Dollmore Adam and he's even pinker than the Leekeworld girl. (You can also see how short the 5-year old body is. My Lana is wearing heels, but my Isaac is not.)


Here's my boy next to my Unoa. The colour match is pretty decent though my Unoa is slightly pinker. Proportion-wise, they look like they'd go together pretty well. BTW, in this picture he's wearing Dollmore 14mm glass eyes and a Cherishdoll MSD wig. The eyes are gorgeous and a perfect fit, but the wig is huge, which is funny because this other MSD wig from Cherish is much smaller and a perfect fit: [1]


Here he is in another wig, this time 6-7" Unoa/Yo-sized from Leekeworld, again a very good fit. This is a more boyish outfit on the DT 5 body.


Here he is in a very girlish outfit... I think if you wanted a cutesy immature girl body, this one would work very well. I don't think it's as nice for a boy since it's so short and chubby.

And voila~! Vergil is such a gorgeous headmold, I truly can't wait to pick up a body for him and paint him. I think he makes a gorgeous boy or girl~ Anyway I hope these pictures have helped someone. If anyone has requests, let me know!

 

Caracco - Thanks for posting all those pics, they do help in alot of ways So in summary, are you saying that the Dollstown freshskin is a good match, just maybe the neck would need sanding down...? I'm actually looking for a more 'immature' body for the twins as their characters are aged around 8 -10 yrs old, so I don't need boobs or pecs

.....also, you mentioned the Unoa was a near match (though a little pinkier), but proportion wise, did you try the Vergil head on the Unoa body? I'm just wondering if it did work ok, a Unoa boy body could be added to the list of possibilities?

Hey there gelfling! Actually the Dollstown freshskin is a near perfect match, and if you didn't want to bother, sanding the neck isn't really necessary, but you can do it if you don't like the gaps when you tilt the head. The head fits really well on it and has a great range of motion, but the body makes Vergil look a tiny bit pinheaded.

Vergil actually fits really well on my Unoa body, though it does tend to bobble a tiny bit. With sueding that wouldn't be a problem though. I find the body a little bit on the slim side, but I have a feeling it would work out better for the boy. With the head on the body, the body is definitely pinker, but with some blushing I think you wouldn't notice. I can take some pictures later if you'd like.

Edit: That being said, does anyone know about a proportion match with Kid Delf's, or resin match with a Kid Delf/regular Delf (not Senior)? I'm really hoping for one of these bodies but I'd love to see it before I buy (though I will probably buy one anyway.)

 

Caracco Thanks again for the info . From your pictures, I really think he looks good on the DT body. When he's all dressed up, with wig etc it might not be too obvious if his head is a teeny-tiny bit small!

I'd still like to know too what a kid delf body would look like, as this was one of my initial choices...

 

So, Caracco you said the head fits pretty good on the AoD body? Hm.
I'm planning on buying Vergil in WS so I wonder if their WS would match..

 

Thanks for the pics Caracco. Vergil looks great on a DT body cant wait to see him with a face up. For what I know the DT 5 yo body has no joints its a one piece body ? What skincolor is your AOD body ?
I consider a kiddelf body for my Vergil girl.

Somehow I didn't post these yesterday. I snapped, chose and resized them yesterday. *shakes head* Not enough sleep I'm sure.

Anyway...


Here's Vergil with my Unoa Sist and my Domuya Potpourri. Sist is from 2006 (from Y!J) and Potpourri is from mid '07. It's a little hard to see - we've been having a lot of cloudy wintery weather so the light's not as good as I would have hoped - but Sist is much whiter than Virgil (she's not a white U-noa) and of course Potpourri is just... wrong. ^_^


Here's more! Virgil is with my Dollmore Banji (too white), my Puki (too dark), my Bobobie-cast Ladysaiyuki's Ted (too pink) and the Luts Senior Delf Wintery head. See next pic....


Here's just Wintery and Vergil. Again hard to see, but Wintery is pinker and Vergil is cream-coloured by comparison. Perhaps more noticeable in person. But they are the same... help me out here. If you desaturate this image, they'd be the same shade of grey. So, in my opinion, Luts real skin, at least Wintery's vintage, is a good candidate so long as you are prepared to blush the head pinker.

Here's another take on that Luts Real Skin comparison pic. It's sunny today, so the pinkish/creamish difference is a bit more obvious. It's still a decent match, methinks, but not perfect.

Here are the resin matching photos for Pluto Doll with Luts Kid Delf in Real Skin
The first two 'warm' tone shots were taken in my living room which gets a lot of light, the 'cool' shots were taken in my bedroom that gets no direct sunlight.
The cool ones show more of a difference in the resin than I think is actually true viewing the dolls in person. In my opinion, the first two photo's are closer to reality - in other words, a good match!

@Shime-kun My Vergil girl (head is NS) is on an new version AOD body WS resin match is 99% ! protortion head body is good. I didnt have for it time yet but will post comparision pics soon.

Heh, I've been so busy playing with my guy lately, I've forgotten to mention I got a third-hand Kid Delf boy body on the marketplace~ Here are just a few of pictures.







This last picture is with flash.


The proportions are fantastic! This body is from 2008 or so (I think), so the colour is slightly yellow, which is exactly what I wanted. The head (which is NS) is very slightly lighter but otherwise the resin match is 100%! Leopold is extremely happy with his body! ...I also added elf ears, because I'm addicted to them... They weren't actually in the plan, I was making bunny ears for my Rosen Lied Ravie and I had left over Milliput... and Leo was just sitting there so...
