Popovy Sisters Glass Eye Magpie, Cuckoo, Little Owl, and Peewit Discussion - Part 2

I’ve always wondered if it was because being a FKA Twigs look-a-like could put the sisters in legal trouble? As in Twigs could send them a cease and desist, or even ask for a share of the sales?

 

This is what I was wondering as well, but I didn't want to speculate aloud. The thing is, though, I could have sworn they had her blessing to use her likeness? Or maybe I'm getting mixed up with the deal they had with Grimes?
It's such a shame, Quetzal is my absolute favorite of their sculpts. I had inquired about her ages before her retirement but held off on ordering because I was waiting for them to offer faceups again. Beating myself up for not getting the blank doll when she was available.

 

Hello ! What size of eyes do you buy when you want to change the eyes of your Popovy ? (Diameter of the eye and of the iris ?)

Hello @bleuindanthrene, I was reading back through the first discussion thread myself recently, and had seen Igor from Popovy Sisters reference the eye info on pg 35 of the 1st discussion thread: Part 1 Popovy discussion Link

"perfect eye size is:
eye ball: 8mm
iris 2.7mm
pupil: 1.2mm"

Is anyone planning on pre-ordering the new "Moon" skintone when the sisters open up pre-orders?

The new Moon skin has a marble effect where there are streaks all over the body. The sisters explained that this is a difficult and time consuming effect to create, so the sisters will limit the production on this new skin tone. It's always great to see the sisters innovate and push their aesthetic forward.

I just read that Quetzal is discontinued.
Does anyone know why?
I love her face as I enjoy FKA twigs´ music very much.

 

The Quetzal is now a very rare doll, few of them were released. I think that no one knows the reasons why they were discontinued)

Yes, sure! My Quetzal is in the corall skintone, on their website you can see all the molds and skintones, by the way they opened the preorder for their dolls again)

 

Do you have a photo by chance?
I´m filling out the form and looking at the skintones on their website, but I still can´t decide between Ivory and Coral.
