Preferring one gender of doll over another

Dec 9, 2012

    1. I prefer female dolls over male.

For my price range, I'm just not able to find a male doll I'd actually be able to 'work' with.
Even the more mature sculpts I see seem too soft in their features and I'm not really a fan of any of the bodies for males that would be available to me.

Too nimble or too buff looking. Its not just my style. I'd want a male doll that looks like he's in his 50's and built like a tank, and I just don't think thats this demographic.

    2. For bigger dolls, I prefer boys. For smaller dolls, I go for girls. It's probably because like mature-looking boys and cute-looking girls.

    3. I have many boys and just a few girls. I always browse for boys and have only boys in my wishlist... and 3 on the way! ;) So, I prefer the boys but also love the girls of course.

    4. Oddly enough, even though I only have girls I tend to browse only for boys. I think i'm feeling gender-ist.

    5. When I first got in to BJDs I sooo wanted a boy doll, all I wanted was boy dolls and all I would look at and think of buying was boy dolls. So of course my first doll was a boy! And I was happy with him for a while, not too long after I bought a tiny girl just because I liked her sculpt better than any of the boys... to me when they're that small gender doesn't matter too much. But then after some time with them I found myself more interested in the girl doll and buying her wigs and clothes more often, I almost ended up selling my boy. But instead I turned him in to a cross dresser and eventually a girl and I'm happy with him again. I still like a lot of male sculpts and I recently bought a female doll with the intention of switching bodies and giving him the boy body but I'm kind of worried the same thing is going to happen with him :sweat For me it's easier find clothes I like for female dolls.

    6. I find it odd for me, I love looking for boy dollfies and I skip the girl dollfies. Also when I play video games, I always choose the male character.

    7. I have a preference for boys, but I do like girls. I have more boys than girls in my resin family, but the girls I have are just as important to me as my boys. There just happen to be fewer of them.

    8. I prefer the girls, because to me, for the most part, the boys are too feminine.

    9. I have two of each gender right now, and I feel like I prefer lasses over lads. While the lads are awesome, and they do look so good, and will look better in the outfits I have planned. But I feel like there's a lot more I can do with females. But in either case, if I see a sculpt and size that just grabs me, then I have the urge and I must have it. I have that now with Dreamofdoll's D.O.T E-an!

    10. I like guys.

      .....\(^o^)/

I just don't really have much interest in female dolls. I find many pretty, but I don't feel the need to have one.

    11. I like both aesthetically, though I only own two girls at the moment. My next purchase likely be a boy, however.

    12. I prefer women because i enjoy sewing dresses and skirts and all the feminine things. :)

    13. I like both Boys and Girls. I don't own a doll yet, but I'm planning to buy a Girl because, strangely, I can relate to her more. And I like to sew cute or mori-type clothes and in my opinion I think they would fit better with a Girl doll.

    14. I like both, however I have 3 boys planned, and no girls, other than my current girl.

It also depends on genitals and breasts. I'd prefer a simple vagina to an egg-shaped penis, but I also dislike weird nipple placement or really droopy boobs or something!

Even though I never look at the nudy bits other than dressing, it has a lot to do with the doll, I'm transgendered, and I know what feeling like the wrong gender is, I couldn't imagine feeling like your penis was an egg or if you had super triangular nipples that pointed in a weird place :I

    15. I've got 7 female dolls, and hadn't been planning any boys. But now I've got an MSD boy picked out who I want (an Iplehouse JID Boris), and also a PukiFee boy who I want (Vanilla), and I also would like to get an SD boy as well. Originally, my lack of male dolls was that I couldn't find any I really gravitated towards. With my pukifee Zoe, one of the first dolls I really bought new, I was instantly in love. I saw her and I just new I'd want her. I see a lot of dolls I like, but not a whole bunch where I really, really want them home. Lots that I'd love to have, but very few "I am going to find the money to get you because you are who I want." And that's why I stuck with girl dolls for so long, I just didn't see any boys who I really wanted to spend the money on - most of them I was happy just to look at pics online. Then when I saw JID Boris, he fitted a character I had planned so perfectly that I knew I'd get him eventually. I'm still saving, but here's hoping!

    16. And I have a 50 to 50. Like the equally to boys and girls. ))

    17. I prefer boy than girl X)

(I wanna play girl sometimes but I have no idea how to dress up her LOL )

    18. I prefer males. No reason, really. I like girls too, but I've found more boys I like than girls. But I'm looking to get a female doll in the future, because I'd like to have a girl too :)

    19. I have very few boys out of all my dolls. I have a couple of males planned though in the near future, but they are pretty, like girls. I find most of the males pretty much look like girls.

    20. I end up prefering male characters, and I've found I can't keep dolls around unless I imbue them with a character. (I've tried, I either lose interest or it ends up developing a character anyway.)

That said, I have difficulty relating to/creating female characters. Males come much more easily . . . thus why I have more boys.
