Preferring one gender of doll over another

Dec 9, 2012

    1. I guess I'm in the minority here, since I don't really have a gender preference. I like male and female dolls equally.

    2. I think I like female dolls a tad bit more than males. I have a bit more fun picking out pretty clothes for them. :XD: But that isn't to say I don't love male dolls, because I do. But I think it's fun for me to dress females more, because I secretly think to myself "wow... I want that outfit!"

    3. I only have boys and I promised I'd only have SD and bigger but two cute MSD boys made their way into my home. Orphans. They haven't changed my mind about my big boys.
      No girls ever.

    4. So far I like the girls sculpts more but I do intend to get a male sculpt i think i am just really picky about it. I like the Fairyland males but none have really jumped out at me and stuck with me.

    5. First of all I find it amazing that we have such a great variety of dolls to collect - from little girls and boys to some seriously mature and sexy ladies and gents.

As it comes to me, I have always collected female dolls and I problaby won't get around boys ever. I find doll to be a female "object" and even in my mothertongue doll is a feminine word. But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate nice dolly boys! I think I simply wouldn't be able to style a boy properly (and to be happy with it) not take suitable, complementing photos. D:

    6. I definitely prefer female dolls. At the moment I only have two dolls, one male the other female, and I play with the girl far more often. I love to buy and make pretty dresses for her to wear. I love to style her hair. The next doll I plan to buy will be a girl and every other doll on my wishlist is a girl.

That's not to say that I don't like the boys though. I love Venn just as much as Annabelle, but I whenever I look at company websites I always go straight to the female sculpts. I think I would like to get another boy at some point, I just haven't fallen in love with another male sculpt just yet.:XD:

    7. So far I prefer girl dolls. I love all the pretty clothes and shoes you can get for them, whereas the boys seem a bit boring to me! I do plan on getting one boy, who will look a bit feminine. Not sure if I will get anymore after him. (we'll see...)

    8. Definitely girls....no boys....LOL! I don't even have a reason. I have 2 girls.

    9. i have more girls then boys but lately i am more fixated on my boys

    10. I prefer female dolls more over males because i love sewing female clothings but on the other hand, my male dolls are increasing too :sweat

    11. When I first got into the hobby, I was only ever really interested in the boy dolls. All the characters I planned were boys, until Luts posted some new photographs of the Shiwoo-SS in about 2008/09 and I just thought... that would be a perfect girl. I have her now and she's definitely my favourite - since dressing her and playing with her my desire for female dolls has only increased XD I still like my boys, and will probably own more, but the female dolls just hold a special beauty for me.

    12. There's only one or two female dolls that I really like- but even then, there's fellas I like more and would get first before them. I can't help it, I love my boys so much.

    13. I used to only have male dolls, but now I only have female dolls....mostly the customization for the hair/dresses appeal to me...

    14. I definitely prefer the female dolls. I also am a big nerd for all things equal so eventually, I will have the same number of each (right now, I'm at 5 boys and 4 girls). I'm drawn far more to the female sculpts, though. And the cloooooothes! SO PRETTY!

    15. I prefer boy dolls myself. I think the girl dolls are pretty, but they're just not for me.
That being said, I do like being able to dress up girls in pretty outfits. But the boy dolls are so cool that I just can't resist them. :D I wouldn't mind dressing up a feminine boy doll in girl's clothes either. ^_^

    16. I prefer girls, though that's probably heavily influenced by all the cute dresses and hairstyles I can play with. Plus I haven't seen a male BJD that I have fell in love with and wanted to actually buy yet.

    17. I was pretty sure in the beginning that I'd want only girls/no-gender... Now that I have one boy (which I kinda surprised myself with), I think my affection is now divided pretty evenly between all genders.

    18. I think I prefer male dolls, but I find a lot of female dolls very interesting. There are usually many more interesting female face sculpts than male.

    19. I think sometimes that male dolls are sculpted oddly and that their tiny penises kinda weird me out. But then again, sometimes female dolls are sculpted oddly as well. (has anyone ever seen a doll with a super..puffy.. and realistically shaded vagina? It's so embarrassing) I think the one thing that weirds me out the most about female dolls is the gravity defying, forced up, insanely perky breasts that they have. It just looks too painful for me so I stray away from dolls sculpted like that.
But most of the time I'm for girls.

    20. I prefer females cause they can live my fantasy life. They can wear all the dresses I wish I could wear. Have hair colors that I want. They help me feel free in a way. I'll probably get a little boy one day (like a real puki size) but I don't know if I'll ever get a grown up male. My Aunt SteamWitch has all boys. One day they will all hang out.
