Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Preferring one gender of doll over another

Dec 9, 2012

    1. I definitely need more male figures as The few dolls i have are all female.

    2. I prefer girls!
Because girls could do more different styling than boys...
I have boys BJD but I'm not that into it, may be hard to find clothes for them is one of the reasons...

    3. I like both and always browse for both gender. I do have the tendency to browse and spend more time on the male dolls rather than the females. But no matter what I do I always ended up wanting more male dolls even though I don't have any gender preferences.

    4. Buying my first doll is very difficult for me coz I wanted both genders, but ended up getting a boy. Now I want a girl doll, because its easier to make clothes for them and there are many styles for them. Maybe after getting a girl, I'll look at the boys again

    5. I think I prefer boys. All the dolls I looked at and want are mostly boys, there are only a few girls on my wishlist. I just love their faces and bodies and I just hadn't a "I want you!" moment with a girl doll yet, but there are a lot of boys I want so, yeah.

    6. I prefer boys and it's really hard to say why exactly... I used to create a lot of female characters and didn't really click with boys (as OCs anyway) in the past but at some point, it suddenly turned all around and now 99% of my characters are males... I wouldn't even say I like females that much less - especially in BJDs because they often are simply gorgeous and I'd love to buy one, but then I'm thinking that I could buy another boy for that money so... I might never get a girl.
I'm just bonding with cute boys so much faster and harder haha.

    7. I prefer male to female they make more realistic characters to me but I only own girls so weird haha :)

    8. I've always preferred girls. Seems like there are more clothing options that I like, unless you want a cross dressing boy. I got my first boy doll just recently and he poses like a beast! And now I'm on the hunt for another. Unfortunately I have no wigs or clothes for boys yet. Can't find any I like :/

    9. I am definitely inclined towards boy dolls. I do have one girl, though. I have had plans for two SD sized girls for the longest time now, but boys keep grabbing me first. Someday I will make it happen. XD

    10. My collection is mainly boys. or rather, 'men' as they are all tonner dolls.
am in process of buying my second BJD and it is a 'man' also.
"Shukaku" is about as 'boy' as I will go (unless it is a cute goth type of thing)
child dolls, or kids, don't interest me of either gender

    12. I only have girl dolls and am in no need to get myself a boy doll

    13. I spend most time looking at female or genderless dolls. The world of boys is one I've never felt like I have a clue about, but that will be changing in the coming years... all my friends who had children had sons! Not one girl in the bunch. Boo~ :P

Wouldn't say "never" to owning a male doll, but he'd probably be on an androgynous body.

    14. I'm only new to BJDs but with my other doll types i prefer girls (i have 29 girls and only 1 boy), which is weird because with humans i prefer men to women!
I might consider getting 1 BJD boy in the future but i'll soon have 3 girls so they would outnumber him already :D

    15. Hm, my eyes tend to immediately wander over to male sculpts. :sweat There are many beautiful female sculpts, but I can't see myself owning one.

    16. Hmm.. I only have girl and genderless dolls here. I don't know if I will ever get a boy doll. In the moment I'm hardly interested in the boys.
      But who knows ;)

    17. I have mostly males but that's more just the way it worked out, rather than preference.

    18. I'm bouncing back into this thread as my collection has changed. My first doll was a boy doll then I got a girl.... I then went on a spree of only girls and was like WOAH THERE and then currently I have 3 girls, 3 boys, 2 girl floaty heads and 2 boy floaty heads and a body on layaway for one of the girl floaties... I seem to be doing okay so far xD...

    19. When I first joined the hobby, I was only interested in male dolls, but as time went on I went ahead and bought a female.. it was all over form then out! Haha, I currently have 4 female dolls to my 1 male! Female dolls are easier to shop for in my opinion and I kinda like dressing them up and dressing them down, they always look cute no matter what I put them in! ;3;

    20. I prefer boy sculpts over girls, not sure why though :p I rarely browse the girl section unless I'm looking for a sculpt for a particular character.
