Preferring one gender of doll over another

Dec 9, 2012

    1. At first I decided to get a girl doll because of the cute faces but the longer I browsed I feel like the more I'm being pulled over to the boy sculpts. (//w//)

    2. When i first started my doll wishlist was pretty close to even in the gender department.
However things have changed since then and right now I have 4 girls.
Many more girls on my wishlist and only two boys on said list. Lol.
I just think I lean more towards girls cause I'm into clothes and fashion and theyd be more fun to dress.
Though I still want those two boys, and they will be just a fashionable. I hope. Haha.

    3. Six girls four boys. XD Girls are more fun to dress up and stuff.

    4. I prefer boys, my first one was Soom Spinel, as a second doll I wanted Roderick or Soom, too... but some time ago ordered a girl! It was something like 'Oh, I like her face, her smile... it will be good to have her, too'. :)

    5. Definitely girls....I have only one doll that is anthro that I consider a boy....Just prefer yhe girls^^

    6. For some strange reason, though I love girls and fashion and the idea of girls etc, I truly like writing boy characters the best, and I feel drawn to boy dolls more naturally--which is very frustrating for me, because I WANT girl dolls to dress up in all the different kinds of fashion I sometimes don't feel I can pull off myself, yet when I'm browsing I just instantly go to look at the boys, and have to make a conscious effort to even notice the girls on the company pages xD perhaps it's because I have more plan for boy dolls to shell some of my male characters, whereas I only have one female idea so far which is hardly much of an idea at all? Maybe my subconscious prioritizes one over the other since my male ideas are more developed??? Who knows. :|

    7. I prefer girls. My one bjd is a girl and the o.nes I have been looking at are girls as well. There are prettier clothes for girls, too. But then, I like girls in real life, too.

    8. I have a preference for boys, since I seem to be able to come up with more male characters than I do females. I plan to have a few girl dolls eventually, though.

    9. I am all about the girls! I haven't found any boys that I want yet. I often feel guilty and wonder if I'm sexist lol

    10. When I started I was all for the dudes

Since my hiatus, though, I'm drawn towards girls. I think, to be honest, since I wear a uniform every day I live vicariously through my girls to dress how I'd like to :O

      But shh, don't tell them

    11. I'd really like to have more boys in my collection - but due to size and cost I may only end up with two. I do see lots of boys I fall in love with but when it comes to follow through to get them I end up sticking them on the back burner and grabbing that girl instead. It happens every time. I hate that in a way because I don't really have a diverse collection when it comes to gender.

If I'm only able to get a dollshe David I'll be good - but who knows - maybe I'll trade a girl slot and get an iplehouse boy as well.

    12. I love my girl dolls as much as my male dolls, its kind of funny because at the moment I have equal number of girls as I do boys. But its really hard for me to buy a 1/4 boy doll since I'm so picky I usually end up not buying a boy in 1/4 because I like my boy doll to look more guyish.

    13. Oh I thought I was just strange! I actually just prefer the female's. I'm not to sure why I just feel like the girl's are more gentle in nature and their faces and body types somewhat show that as well. But I haven't bought or held a male yet so who knows I might like him if I actually buy one...

    14. I prefer girls, because sewing for them is more fun. I love making romantic flowery dresses for my girls. But if I had a lot of money (and a lot of room) I would get a handsome Iple hunk just for fun. I think I'll cave in some day... :blush

    15. I prefer girls. I don't know why but most of my BJDs are girls.

    16. I wouldn't say I have a preference as I didn't start off thinking I'd only get dolls of one gender however that being said... pretty much I have all boys, but I have one doll that I do regret getting a male body so I just pretend he's a girl and dress him in female outfits LOL
I do eventually want to get one or two real girl dolls.

    17. I've only got one doll so I can't say that I really have a "preference" as he's only one gender. But I haven been looking into getting several females, as I personally think they're more fun to dress and easier to find clothes and accessories for. But that's just my opinion. (:

    18. I think I prefer boys I noticed them first but now I want a girl for the clothes. I love girls clothes very much :)

    19. I mostly browse for the girl dolls... the clothes and wigs are much more fun for me :D

    20. hmm.. i think my preference is pretty equal, because i like more androgynous styles than anything else... but i'm more drawn to male sculpts because most of the time they're a little more androgynous than the female sculpts. and i'm a sucker for pretty/feminine boys, haha
