Preferring one gender of doll over another

Dec 9, 2012

    1. Most of the time I'll look at boy dolls and most dolls I want are boys xD I also want some girls, but I find most boys more appealing that the girls

    2. Nope, I don't care if my dolls are boys or girls, but I'm pretty relaxed about gender roles so I have no problem with girly styles on boys or vice versa, so I guess that's why.

    3. I find myself completely uninterested in male dolls, which I find bizarre about myself. I can't come up with a good reason why.

    4. Well, I like to look at both genders of doll, but I have to admit that the ones that strike my fancy are almost always the boys. I have one grail girl so far, but most of the dolls I'm looking to get at the moment are male.:) I guess I find males more visually pleasing.

    5. I tend to look more at male dolls but I've bought heaps more female dolls so go figure that one out lol

    6. I'm usually only boys but I'm about to get my female doll soon =) I'm very happy because I feel like the time I bought my first BJD. However, I can't find really cool clothes for girl ~_~ I'm not into lolita or dresses and the MSD size clothing is full of it. It's so hard finding clothes for MSD girls...clothes that I like at least =.= this is making me think twice about getting another female doll.

    7. I originally preferred male dolls but once I became an owner of dolls I seem to have more females than males so.... //shrugs.

    8. I only look at boy dolls myself. I own 3 boys have have plans for 2 more. I just have no interest in girl dolls, for whatever reason. I think the large thing that drew me into the BJD hobby in the first place was the fact that the boy dolls were just as pretty and prominent as the girl ones, and that held a lot of appeal to me. In North America especially, "boy dolls" are not a popular thing at all in conventional toys.

    9. I prefer girls there more fun for me to customize and dress up

    10. I prefer boys, honestly.
And I hoped that my boys will...well, will be dating each other ^___^ But noooo, and I had to purchase girlfriends for them :|
There are only three girls, I purchased for no reason, just because - OMG! I need that woman in my collection!
They are Soom Cuprit - Wish upon the north wind. Elfdoll Vivien on a supia body hybrid. And Oasisdoll Jadeit)))
Every other girls were like "she's going to be a girlfriend for..." I love them anyway though ^__^)))

    11. I've always prefered boys. In real life, I always found myself wanting a brother (while I eventually ended up getting a sister instead, who I love more than anything). I would also love to have a son one day, but beggars can't be choosers!

Fortunately in this hobby, it's all very predictable which gender you will be getting once an order is placed. Most of the characters in my story are male as well, so I'll stick to boys for now!

    12. I really seem to prefer females over males so far! I do really love the dollzone MSD boys too, but yeah, got quite a lot more girls than boys. Tend to look for those first too! I don't really have characters, I buy dolls for their aesthetic, and I guess I just find girls prettier!

    13. I like boy dolls best. I have some girls but very few.

    14. Since I'm mostly shelling my roleplaying characters I go mostly for girl dolls. I do have boyfriends planned for several of them, but I haven't gotten around to buying them yet. :P I also like a lot of frilly girly stuff so I like that part of having girls too.

    15. Hmn.. I dont really prefer a certain gender eventough I only got girls XD its just soooo hard to find a boy that's perfect for me and my dolls lol.. got a few I like but most of em happen to be sold out limited dolls ^-^;;;

    16. I thought I wasn't going to get any male dolls till I fell in love with Impldoll child boy Vivien..... And now I have two boys and two girls so I would say I like both gender! :)

    17. I was mainly interested in boy dolls at first, and didn't look at girls as much, but then I realized I was having way too much fun looking at the girls' clothes (mainly cause I wanted them for myself haha) and my Sammy isn't the type to cross-dress, so I decided I had to get a girl so I could have her wear all these nice clothes. Now I have two girls on layaway, and one I'm currently waiting to get through processing to shipping. Still have a bigger fondness for the boy dolls though. :)

    18. Honestly when i first started to get interested in BJDs i ONLY looked at female dolls. now...im more leaning towards male. so strange .i guess that could change again though if i find the right doll regardless of gender.

    19. I don't know why, but I've never owned a male doll. I enjoy looking at them, especially Iplehouse and Souldoll men look gorgeous but I'll probably never own one.

    20. I absolutely prefer girls. I only have one boy currently (not counting the various Monster High dolls scattered around the house), and he was almost accidental.
