Preferring one gender of doll over another

Dec 9, 2012

    1. I prefer girls over boys because I find them more fun to dress and play with! And since I am also a girl, they are more relatable to me. I also find something off with most of the boys' bodies, I just can't seem to figure out what.

If I would ever get a boy someday though, it would be from Iplehouse! Their boys' bodies are close to what I like. I just haven't found a face sculpt I really like.

    2. I like the idea of owning a male doll and my first BJD was a male doll. I didn't seem to find it interesting to look at the female doll range for some reason. However I am looking into girls now so he is not lonely :)

    3. Well... I definitely have a lot more boys than I do girls... I don't quite know why, I simply prefer to have male dolls. That doesn't mean I don't love my girl dolls just as much though, they're just... fewer?

    4. Most of my crew is male.
Recently I've been thinking it might simply have something to do with it being more interesting and fun for me to dress boys, because almost all dolls I've had prior to getting into the bjd hobby were female. Not that I had a lot of dolls before ... lol. But still. Also not saying that clothing is/should be gender specific, it's just fun to dress a different body type for once, I don't know.

    5. All of my six dolls are boys.
      ; u ;
Every single one. Even the littles.

    6. I'm probably only going to get bro dolls. I might get a girl once I'm well into the hobby by my own standards, but that's only if I ever feel like having more than one or two dolls.

    7. When I first got into the hobby I was all for the girls, until I fell in love with a Luts Shiwoo who I subsequently bought. I adored him and sold him a while ago now (which I still regret to this day) and haven't had another male doll since. I think my preference is definitely for female dolls but there are a few that I know I'd make an exception for (ahem DC Amos). :)

    8. I used to prefer looking the girls rather than the boys while browsing. Over time, though, the boys have won me over so that now I look at both. I like both equally at the moment.

    9. I tend to like female dolls better generally as I think they are more versatile, but I just adore my new fellow, an Iplehouse Felix.

    10. I prefer my girls. I've always wanted to add a boy to my collection, but I just don't see where he would fit. My girls are too sweet and innocent looking for a boy to be present ;)

    11. At the moment, I have one boy
and one little girl (father and daugther), but normally I tend to fall in love with male
sculpts rather than female, even though I like women sculpts as well. :)

    12. So far all I've ordered and own are girls. There are plans to get one or two (maybe more) guys in the future, but only if they fit what I'm looking for. More particular on guy sculpts than girls.
      Girls are easier for me.

    13. All of mine are girls - probably because I'm into frilly lacy dresses, and those sure won't fit on male dolls :XD:

    14. I seem to have taken a liking to boy dolls. I think there's a lot of ways you can dress them, and cross-dressing is cute on feminine sculpts. Lot of clothes options, and no pesky boobies in the way :XD:

    15. I prefer girls because I can dress them in cutesy kawaii characters frilly lacy and pink and kittens! >_<

    16. I prefer female dolls because I love women's fashion so much. I've never owned any male dolls, but Iplehouse has some very attractive ones!

    17. I actually always try to go for the most gender neutral dolls so that I can dress them up how ever I want. Usually that ends up being male dolls because it's easier to fake breasts than hide them.

    18. I only wanted a girl. Now she has a husband on layaway and a free event doll coming

    19. Well, I've got 26 girls and no boys right now, but I do have 2 boys on my wish-list. Therefore, I'd have to say I prefer girls to boys and definitely think there are more clothing and wig choices for girls.

    20. I have three boys to one girl, and the girl isnt in the same size range as the boys. I wonder if it isnt just because I can share all the clothes/accessories/etc throughout the three.

I definitely like looking at photos of girls more though.
