Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Preferring one gender of doll over another

Dec 9, 2012

    1. I prefer girls for right now, I haven't really purchased a boy doll yet. None of them really jump out at me like the girls do.

    2. I prefer girls. I don't know why I don't really like boys. I never seen one of them and say "whooaaa so cool" compare to girls.

    3. The first doll I've ordered (and am waiting for right now) is a girl. I've never even considered boys to be honest. The girls just really speak to me. - Maybe later I'll get a boy doll too, gotta save up again first.

    4. Usually girls because I like to style them much more :3
I haven't seen as many male dolls that I would want to buy and I don't know what I would do with them. It would be nice to have at least one though.

    5. When I started collecting dolls I only wanted boys, but when I got my first girl doll I fell in love with her and immediately ordered her an older sister. Now I love both, I would never want to only have one gender, and my wishlist is full of female dolls.

    6. I prefer girls~ I like curvier bodies and most boys I look at tend to be more effeminate~

    7. Both my current collection and my wishlist have an even number of males to females. Not sure how that happened, but I guess I really don't have a preference for one gender over another.

    8. I prefer boys. I feel that it's harder to dress the girls because they're curvier. I do have one girl (my SID girl) and she wears some of my boys' clothing. But I don't think I would want more then two girls.

    9. I prefer female dolls, I am just not feeling it with male dolls.

    10. I prefer females. I just lack of interest with male dolls and they are not appealing to me at all.

    11. I prefer developing characters and stories for male characters, but I prefer shopping for and physically customising female dolls! I think it's because there's more options for girls ie; wigs and clothes.

    12. I prefer girls over boys. I've only owned girls and I don't see myself ever owning a boy. MAYBE I will turn one of my male OC's into a doll someday, but it's highly unlikely.. There's tons of beautiful boy sculpts out there, but I'm just not interested in boys clothes, hair, shoes etc! The reason I enjoy buying stuff for my girl is because I could see myself wearing the things I buy for her too :). The only boy I would buy, would be a feminine one I could turn into a girl haha.

    13. Looking at my collection, I have more girls than boys. I bought my last boy because he had a very aesthetically pleasing body. The next boy will have to be as aesthetically good. I am more lenient regarding girl dolls, I must say. If I like a girl doll face, minor posability problems (difficulty sitting for instance) will not deter me as long as I like the look of the body. For a boy doll, he needs to earn his keep on every point.

    14. I have a few male dolls but I prefer the girls. More fun to sew for and create patterns. I think I also prefer the smaller dolls.

    15. I prefer male dolls. My first doll I'm getting ready to order is a male and the other one I'm interested in is also a male.

    16. I am not sure if I have a preference. I like interesting looking sculpts, regardless of what body-type they happen to come on...Still, I would find it a little boring to only get one gender. theres so many fashions and styles and pretty clothes to explore and play with across the board, that I'd miss out on if I stuck to one sex. so I make it a point to switch back and forth. I have a boy doll at the moment, and my incoming doll is a girl! So if I ever manage to save up enough for a third doll, it would be a boy! :)

    17. I love having girls
I always end up with only a few boys in my group because I love having girls with different styles I just feel like I have a little more variety clothing wise with girls

    18. I actually really like both, but I think I find girls a bit more exciting to dress :)

    19. I like girls. I think I like them better because I'm pretty girly myself and love clothes, shoes, etc. It's fun to find new cute thigns for my dolls- just like it is when I find something adorable for my 6 year old daughter to wear LOL! There aren't as many "cute" boy clothes in my opinion. Shopping for girls has just always been fun for me.

    20. I prefer girl dolls. While I do have a few boys, the lasses greatly out number the lads.

Girl dolls for me are just more fun. It is easier for me to have a female character concept versus a male one. There are more clothing options that I like for girls. My boys only have one outfit each... I am so picky with them, but with the girls, I find myself constantly saying "that would be perfect for so-and-so!".

I kinda feel more like the few boys I do have are more accessories for the girls than their own beings. I still have become attached and would not want to part with them, it is just they are very much secondary characters for me. Perhaps it is because the two bog boys I have spent so much time as floating heads or sharing a body, their development was stunted?

Despite that, there are two more boys I would like to get to fill out my collection. One is to be a friend to my lonely MSD girl (if I can find a Kid Delf with a big enough head to not make my bobble headed Ttori girl look even more so). The other is a Fairyland Yrin, but he was never actually made ... the orders placed for him were refunded and there as no explanation as to why. It makes me sad because it is so rare for me to find a guy doll that I really want.
