Preferring one gender of doll over another

Dec 9, 2012

    1. I used to be all over the place, but now I only collect male dolls.

    2. I definitely prefer boys, probably because most of my characters are boys, but it's also true that no female sculpts have ever really spoken to me yet. I'm planning to get two DZ Carters and make one a girl and the other a boy, though! That way I'll have at least one doll to wear a gorgeous female outfit. Girls definitely have tempting clothes.

    3. I only have females dolls but have seen a few male dolls out there that have drawn my attention.

    4. I'm slowly realizing the hard way that I'm just not into boy dolls (and I have so many of them). I'm trying to swap out my boys for girls that I want.
I appreciate the boy dolls but I just don't have the same enjoyment as I do with the girls. They're more fun and make me feel less creepy haha...

But my biggest problem is that I fall for the boy dolls far more often, hence why I ended up with a lot of them. The girls don't usually have that impactful "love at first sight" thing for me.

    5. At the beginning of the arrival to a hobby I bought only dolls of girls and about boys didn't think at all, they weren't necessary to me. But once the loved firm has let out the beautiful boy, he has subdued me, I long thought, but nevertheless have come to a conclusion that I want to buy it (especially the boy was limit, it was necessary to hurry with purchase).
So in my female collective there was a boy. But I don't plan more boys.

    6. I dont as such prefer one gender over the other, but I usually end up falling for more male dolls than female ones. I really love male dolls a lot. Although I also love females it is on a completely different level. That being said I do love my female dolls as much as my male ones, it is just harder, for me, to find a female doll to fall in love with

    7. I love both and I'm always making couples with my boys and my girls. In my opinion, girls are better because it's easier to find a good variety of clothing for them, but I always buy more boys than girls.
It's harder for me to find a girl that I really want to buy, at the same time I'm always planning to buy new boys because I love a lot of them. I have to control myself to stop buying just boys.

    8. I now focus mostly on boys, because the bodies seem more divers and to my liking. I started with 3 Girls, but sold 2 of them because of the bodies, too thin, breasts look "too fake " etc (i prefer girls with more curves than anything available ) . My remaining girl is a very androgynous character, so the slim body with supersmall boobs works for her.

Now i Just stick female heads on male bodies, because i Love the androgyn look

    9. It changes. I have started with boys only, but after a couple of years, some female dolls become a part of the family as well. Never say "never". :eusa_sile

    10. I guess I prefer girl dolls (I have seven right now) although I do like to have boys as boyfriends or brothers to my girls. I only have two boys now.

    11. Girls, though I'm probably going to get a boy again at some point. I used to have a boy doll and ended up selling him to pay for a girl...

    12. Boy dolls for me! I like looking at the girl doll profiles and they seem like they'd be fun to dress up but the boy dolls are what I would love to own. The only girl doll which I thought about buying was one called Bianca (I think by Iplehouse). She had this amazing aura about her..

    13. In general/real life, I prefer the aesthetics of the female body but the sculpts for male dolls tend to be more appealing to me... I wonder if it's because the girls' proportions aren't usually very realistic? I do have girl dolls I like, though, so eventually I want to be able to have both!

    14. Absolutely no interest in playing with female dolls. I love some of them, and i wish i had some of them, but comparing to boys it's absolutely another feeling. I cannot imagine myself purchasing a girl. My wishlist is almost 100% grown boys.

    15. yes i mostly prefer male in bjd and female in vinyl dolls

    16. I was a staunch all-boy collector, till I started collecting Doll Chateau, and then came the Mini Fees, and then...sigh...let's just say I WAS an all boy collector but we're working up to 50/50 now lol

    17. I would say I don't, because I like having both... however if I had to have only one I would pick a girl hands down. Main reason being... I love the clothing. I don't have an issue with a male doll wearing dresses, but I personally would likely never have one that would. So if I want to be able to see the cute dresses, I want a girl. That being said I find the guys easier.. I hate changing the girls because it feels so rude! ;_; I think the new dolls I'm thinking of have sexless bodies though, so that will be nice.

    18. I prefer boys but mainly because most girls look similar due to the beauty standard (I can only talk about Iplehouse here). If I see a doll I like though, I don't care for gender. I just have more male characters in my head because I am a guy and therefor can identify with male dolls more. Girls can have the prettier clothes though, which I love to sew rather than mens clothes. That means the few girls I planned on getting will totally get spoiled, hehe

    19. i like mature female dolls over male.. but i have a couple males dolls i like too..

    20. I personally prefer a male dolls. Don't ask me why because I don't know. But I also really like girls dolls. But there is just something about those boy dolls that attract me.
