Preferring one gender of doll over another

Dec 9, 2012

    1. I prefer girls to boy dolls :3

    2. I like girl dolls better, I would say they're more fun to dress but let's face it, male dolls have tons of "gender ambiguous" clothing and sculpts. I do buy boy clothes for my girl. There's a reason that a girl in a man's button down shirt is a sexy classic icon.....my only gripe being that there are cooler shoes for boys and the sizes for them tend to be pretty large though again, that hasn't stopped me in a few cases...

    3. for bjd, i do have more female dolls, but then again i also have more female RP characters, whom they embody.

    4. I consider myself an 'only boys' collector =) I tried to like the girls but I feel happier with my boys!

      This is me!

I only have one girl. A puki puki Sugar and I love her to death! but the rest of my dolls are boys and I only search for boy dolls. When I see girl dolls they do nothing to me. They can be very beautiful and well customized but I'm never interested in the girl dolls.

And this has nothing to do with sexuality, I think( 'cause some say that if you're a girl you would prefer boys and vice-versa). I highly dislike girl dolls (barbies) when I was a kid and I loved to play cars with my brothers. As of today, I feel like I want to do something different other than buying dresses and making cute hair styles. Boys can be fun to dress up too!

I love boy fashion styles and this is the main reason why I like them.

Right now I have 8 BJD male dolls, 1 puki puki female doll and 7 non-BJD male dolls. Oh, and all my figurines are male...I don't like girl figurines because they are too sexual, most of the time.

Girl dolls are fantastic but not for me :)

    5. I prefer girls because it seems like there's more variety of clothes for them to wear. I have one boy BJD and I've never bonded well with him and I'm afraid I may end up selling him at some point :(...

    6. I prefer girl dolls! They're more fun to dress, i never really even gave thought to owning a boy! I admire boy dolls from a distance, but i don't think i would know what to do if i had one xD

    7. I prefer boys.
There are some pretty girls out there but there was only one so far for me that was really a must have. X'D
Mainly because I design my dolls mostly after my OCs, and they are like ... 90% male quota.

    8. I personally seem to fall for the boys more than the girls.. so there's more of the male gender on my wishlist than female.. I don't know why though! But I try to work in a bit of both, because I love sowing for the ladies!

    9. I was dead set on getting a boy BJD but I ended up getting a girl!
I really love boy BJDs because we all grew up with there being girls shown elegantly. I love the idea of capturing a lot of beauty in boy dolls.

    10. I'm definitely more drawn to male dolls. Of the 5 dolls/characters I have planned, only one is a girl. The detail in the faces and bodies of male dolls really appeals to me, while girl's faces seem flat and uninteresting. Furthermore the only female bodies I have liked are Iplehouse and Soom bodies.

    11. Put me down on the boys list! I have all male dolls. I'm not opposed to girls, I just haven't found that "have to have" girl as of yet >_<

    12. My first (and only) BJD is a girl, and most of my collection will definitely be girls but there are a lot of boy dolls that I really like (just not to own myself), I just prefer girl dolls because there are so many more clothing and sculpt options.
There is a boy that finally made it onto my wishlist though and I can't wait to be able to bring him home ^^

    13. I have seen some amazing boy dolls out there, but I have to say that I prefer girls. This is mostly because I like to sew for my dolls, and dresses are way easier to make. Tailoring men's clothing is a total pain in the butt to me!

    14. i prefer girl dolls over boy dolls. I guess it's because they can "do" things that I can't like wear certain clothes or have a certain hairstyle. Boy dolls have never really caught my attention for some reason. I guess I'm like that in real life xD takes more for me to look twice at a guy

    15. I only have boys. Partly it's that I'm a guy and I just don't understand (or have any interest in) women's clothes and partly that I like the challenge of there not being as much available for them, so I have to make my own things. But also I'm gay so maybe I just like boys better, the end

    16. I prefer men, but my first doll girl ... hmm

    17. Wait...what?? There are girl BJDs??! Who knew. ;)

    18. Only girls for me. Goodness knows I have tried - I've had at least 10 boy dolls come to my house. They either got turned into girls or sold. I keep thinking that the next time I will bond with them. Perhaps it's time to quit buying boys and admit defeat?

    19. I prefer boys, but I do have girls. I like some variety! :D

    20. When I first joined the hobby it was all about boy dolls. Out of 20+ boy dolls, only one stayed with me for more than a year at a time, and even he was gone after two years. Then I fell out of the hobby for a wee bit... getting back in, I decided to switch to girl dolls. I have eight girls that are now permanent residents and I love them so much more than I ever did the boys! I can actually relate to my girls. I understand the mind of a girl, I can write for a female character. :) I was never able to represent male well, so I'm back in my area of strength.
