1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Production Ariadne Discussion

Jul 22, 2008

    1. Yes, Miss Ally may be able to answer the hand question.
Twigling, I have Twiglimbs v1 body so I guess I can answer it myself when I have the body on hand;)

    2. hmmm, let's see, first, as Cat said, that is her original head, it's a very interesting sculpt, and the more i look at her, the more i love her.... now, the hands, are very small and childlike, i have bought some Dollmore Dollpire hands for her and have decided i like the look of the SD male sized hands better than the SD female sized hands (i bought both) i just think the larger hands work better with her body size. she is chunky. now as to the twigling's hands.... i personally would like those as well, the new pink white resin is a fairly good match (Ariadne is more yellow white, and twigling's a bit paler).... i am also going to try the new Dikadoll jointed long nailed hands on her.... i have both the 70cm and the SD female sizes on order. they should be here next week some time.

i apologize that i am keeping her hidden, but i have not done any work on her yet, and you already know what she looks like. i can take a photo for you if there is any kind of comparison to another doll you might be interested in. just let me know if there is anything you want to see.

i have a fear that when i start working on her, i may take her apart and not get her back together. she does not have any kind of "S" hook mechanism.... the head, hands and feet are tied on with string.... i have a fear that once i untie the string i won't be able to change to "S" hooks.... but i gotta try anyway. the head mechanism is interesting indeed. when you open the head cap, there is a sort of "resin cage" inside. the string slips into a slot in the cage, and is held in place with a resin ball. i did remove her head to insert eyes, so at least that part is easily done.

i will keep you posted as i make progress..... good luck on your hunt...:)

    3. Miss Ally, what is the hand verdict? I ordered the white skin Dikadoll hands but it's tricky with that oddly strung delicate nature of this body. I also tried Twiglimbs hands which looked great yet skin tone was too off and I tried elfdoll hands but also wrong and still too small.

So what is the verdict Ms almost but happier Luna Tart;).

      xo Y

    4. ahahaha..... the hands.... yes, i decided to go with the WS Dikadoll SD male sized hands..... they look awesome, well at least i think so. what i did to change her hands was this..... i clipped her elastic at the wrist with a hemostat, and simply cut the string. then, i tied the hands on with some clear elastic bead stringing thread..... not for any particular reason, but that's what i had.

    5. Don't be sorry about the big cats Dollie Q;).
No seriously thank you Miss Ally. I was worried that white skin would not work
yet this body is do very pale and those hands look fine although my Dikadoll girl hands will be a little smaller.

I can't express how much fun I am having with the posing of this body. I started sanding and then realized that the raw is something I want and my girl has been baffling until seeing her become the steampunker I have longed for and it seems she will go that way.

The small hands are very annoying until the newbie hands get here but otherwise...still totally loving the poses and the character of Ariadne:).

    6. ahahahaha..... the dog toys, well, what are you gonna do?

i agree, posing the body is the most fun.... in the pic above? i simply plopped her down, and she posed herself, i love that pose.... and the lighting moving around her body, creating all those wonderful shadows and highlights... just beautiful. i am not sanding mine either..... i love the rough texture. and i love (gee i love a lot, don't i?) anyway, i love the big hands.... so much more jointy goodness. the resin match is almost perfect.... her original hands are very strange chubby little things aren't they?

    7. I just found these dolls recently, but the joints look very futuristic and revolutionary. It looks like they put a lot of science into them xD The stomach still amazes me..It's so real. And she also got a double joint for the neck and jointed feet! Fairyland watch out! Because you are no longer the number one company for posing!

    8. A couple of curious creatures arrived on my doorstep the other day...

Told me they were twin wood sprites, but they haven't told me their names yet.
These two are a boy and girl, MSD-size, Production Ariadne, bought from YJ. They came into my life with the wonderful help of a very dear friend.

    9. Oh wow, they look so amazing! I can't wait to see what they look like once you've cleaned them up and worked on them.

    10. Wonderful! I love these dolls.

    11. WOW!!! I hadn't seen the mini ones--this is an exciting development (unless everybody else has known about them all along, and I'm just slow . . . which wouldn't be a surprise . . . ).

    12. Has anyone been able to find any more of these bodies on Yj? I feel incredibly dim for asking, but I've been looking and I can't seem to find any.

    13. They do still pop up on Yj every once in a while. Here's a link to the user profile - if you bookmark it you can check for new auctions every once in a while.

I think I heard someone say he has discontinued the SD size bodies, but he is doing MSD and Yo-SD currently. I got one of the MSD bodies a month or two ago... I still need to finish my girl's bodyblushing so I can share her here :D

    14. Thank you so very much, candygears! I truly appreciate it. :)

    15. I just read through this thread - I now am totally in love with Production Ariadne! I really want one... But I have no money for it...

Two new auctions are on Yj... They end on the 11th (as far as I can tell - it says they started the 10th and end the 12th but today's the 9th...). Grr... I'll just need to save and wait.

For anyone who wants the links:
SD (I think its just the body): http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h151966652
MSD (I think it has the head - it's more expensive than the SD): http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n95238615

Good luck if one of you gets them!

    16. little-fuzzy-dude - the current auctions are for a YO-SD size doll (not SD) and MSD. That's why the first link is cheaper - its only 30cm. From what I've heard they have stopped making the SD sized bodies. This is a hybrid I made with the MSD Ariadne body, a Bobobie Sprite head and Victorian Winter hands and feet. It took a lot of modding to make it work - but Production Ariadne bodies come very rough and unfinished, so they require a lot of sanding and cleanup anyways. I ended up giving her to my best friend as her first doll (she's always wanted one...)

    17. Oh, she turned out beautiful. What a special doll for your lucky friend!

    18. After a year of being stored away in pieces, I finally finished my Production Ariadne SD elf today. Her head is a DiM Minimee Elf head. After loads and loads of sanding, skinned knuckles and swearing, she's all together and beautiful.

    19. She's beautiful! I really like what you did with her. Can she stand?

    20. Thank you linakauno. She won't stand and doesn't really like sitting, except on her knees in the photo. But she's awesome regardless. She can flop in any position you want.
