OH my GOODNESS I finally found out what Kumako is and I adore them! I must have them!! Does anyone know about the Sanrio Cinnamoroll collab Kumako? I can find almost no information on them, and this image is from late 2023... think I'll be adding another grail to my list, then!
What I usually do is use the original elastic to measure out the new elastic (you can always cut it shorter but can't add length so when in doubt make it a little longer than you think you'll need) I haven't needed to restring my Kumako yet but that's worked for for all other dolls I've restrung. As for the thickness of the elastic, if the channels are roomy enough I go up a bit to provide stability but using the same size is probably safer.

It's not bad!! Not the best of the dolls that I have (I feel like my shoushoudoll out poses everyone), but it gets the job done. They're pretty sturdy and they're very well made. I think a better question would be are there any particular poses you're trying to do? I think that would make it easier to answer your question better for you!
Speaking of bodies! I just won a KUKU body off Y!J that comes with his COA. Does this mean that the seller was selling KUKU without his head? So the COA was originally for the full body? I’ve only gotten mine second hand so I wasn’t sure what all comes with them originally. Is it correct that if you purchase a head or body seperately they do not come with COA?
It depends on the seller, my assumption is the seller bought the full doll and is keeping the coa with the head, it doesn't mean it isn't legit though
Nvm I actually looked back in this thread lol I found an evantasy body I think could potentially make a really cute hybrid. Will she look ridiculously chibi in comparison to an angelphilia? Yes. But she'd be really cute anyways.
Hello! I have been interested in Kumako dolls for not so long and I wanted to know, so they release bodies often? I love the Kiki head but there is no body available at the shop and I'm afraid to end with a floating head
It’s easier to find bodies secondhand, such as on Xianyu. The bodies do come up for orders, but the heads and full dolls seem more commonly available. But do keep an eye out when the orders are up!

Xianyu is pretty complicated to use, so I honestly don't recommend it unless as an absolute last resort. You could get the kaka head and hybrid it on a different body, I'm doing that with a maydoll body from newcloversinging. I was looking for cute chonky bodies because my boyfriend wants to get into dolls and loves that aesthetic so I have a little list. Luckily the cream is dead on for DD semi-white, so the resin matching isn't complicated. No sweat, I guess the reason I picked those bodies also is because Kumako heads are resin so it would be kinda hard to hybrid a head onto a DD body without an s hook keeping the head in place since an s hook over time will damage the vinyl...
