Does anyone know-- has the Robin head gone through any kind of renewal? The one I got seems to have much smaller eyes than ones I have seen recently. I had to open my guy's eyes but am thinking I may just get a new head unmodded by me.
Hello! Let me introduce you to Simon. (I'm a bad photographer, sorry! ) simon2_Pygmalion Mathew by KirinORO, on Flickr The body is temporary.
Regarding skintone matchup for Pygmalion doll heads. I don’t know if this has been discussed already but I have finally done a comparison of Pygmalion doll skintones against dollshe skintones. This is for people who want a different body than the one made by Pygmalion doll. ( While I think the Pygmalion doll body is gorgeous in my opinion it’s too “static” looking) Pygmalion doll “warm ivory” is very close to dollshe “ Copper oriental” Pygmalion doll “white” is very close to dollshe “oriental” I think most people compared Pygmalion dolls “warm ivory” to dollshe’s “oriental” which are seen as normal skintones for both companies, but these Are not compatible. If that makes sense. I will try to post pics.
Of course, these photos are needed! I thought that warm ivory was close to the skinton mango Dollshe . Just need to tint the warm ivory. But no one can make a comparison(( Therefore, I would like to see more photos of the warm ivory and cooper oriental.
Thank you! But it's fantastic, because the sculpture is fantastic) He's beautiful, and its comfortable to paint. ... an "intuitive interface" !
Here are the pics @KirinO17 Please note Pygmalion doll resins have a tiny bit more pink in the skintone but regardless with a decent face up it can be a smooth transition.
I've also seen people lay the heads out in the sun for a bit to get rid of the pink / red hues. It seems to work pretty well - if you are willing to try that out.
Hmm, my Kyle in white skin is absolutely not comparison with oriental skin Sorry for bad quality photo.
This method is a little scary. Does not that make the plastic fragile? Pygmalion has strong plastic in the tan, but the plastic in the in white is slightly lighter.
I accidentally made a mistake and put in the wrong sentence. It seemed to me that I corrected, but today everything is also wrong Now I was able to fix it.
An hour in the sun a few times should not damage the resin that much. If it does I will be seriously disappointed in the quality of the resin.
You are correct! In fact, Pygmalion herself put various parts of the dolls outside for weeks to fix the issue of discoloring of tan / sand beige resins when she was testing out pigments. The only difference was color - nothing else.
How can we tell from this photo? Sorry for BAD photo?...okay!...It comes down to how tolerant people are to matching skintones. If you want 100% skintone match, like @jack_sea , do NOT go to another company for another body. period. If you like me understand skintones will NOT be 100% accurate especially when doing a Hybrid. and can work around this realizing that you are going to hybrid your doll then go for it.
