1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Pygmalion Dolls

Apr 10, 2016

    1. Not much larger; it really depends what you're comparing them with ^^" but regular SD (as in, 60cm tall, 9cm neck size, 20-21cm head circ.) are smaller than Pygmalion heads, yes. I could put mine n my Fantasydoll 60cm body, if that helps? then you see what I mean.

    2. @meanae If it's not too much trouble for you, then a quick pic of your Pygmaliondoll head on the Fantasydoll 60cm body would be very helpful- thanks :3

      There you go :,)

    4. @meanae Oh wow, thank you for posting so quickly! But yes, I see what you mean- this head is definitely too large for such body- your photo was very helpful, thank you! :3

    5. @Lotte Rotten

I've heard (and sort of seen) that some of the Pygmalion heads (Kyle, Robin) fit very well on Dollshe's 18m / 70cm Mystic body. I've also seen that Dollshe's Oriental is a good match for Pygmalion's White, but - resins change over time, so this may no longer be the case.

    6. @Nissa Yes, you're right- I have heard too that Dollshe's Oriental is a good match for Pygmalion's White. I was sort of looking for a shorter body for my Pygmalion head, but I guess that will be difficult to find maybe.. Creating hybrids are super tricky sometimes! ><

    7. I have 3 Pygmalion heads that swap a Dollshe Arsene body In Oriental quite easily. Even on the white skin, I added a bit of mint green pastel to the head to match the Oriental. Rumor has it that Dollshe Oriental will be pinker in the future, so the match may work without the pastel soon.

If you looking for a shorter body (think 65cm) you would need to be mostly concerned with neck size and broad shoulders (16-17cm) to have the head look in proportion.

    8. @Lotte Rotten Not necessarily. The head they have on that body is 22.5cm and Pygmalion heads are 22cm so it's a matter of what you like. I like broader shoulders with that size head myself. I'd be mostly concerned about the neck hole. Pygmalion dolls fit on a 12cm neck. Than means that the head would sink down the neck and be bobbly. You'd have to mod (fill) the neck hole with something to make it 1.5cm smaller. (It's easier to go from a small neck hole for a large neck because you can enlarge a neck hole by sanding it.) I have an adapter that you place between the head and neck (I haven't used yet) but that's another possibility to raise the head but I'm not sure if it works for 10.5 to 12cm.

This is the reality of hybridizing. But I think it's worth it.

    9. @Mahgiep Thank you for your reply :3 I think I should be able to fix the neck problem with a custom-made neck doughnut/neck corrector. But I can't help but wonder if the shoulders would be broad enough? :/ My experience with larger sized male bodies is about zero- and it seems difficult to find larger sized male bodies that are not too 'muscle'y.
I do think the DF body in the link is my favourite so far, but I will continue to search for more options...

    10. @Mahgiep Oh the heads in the link are the same size as the Pygmalion heads? In that case it does seem like such body would actually work^^

    11. The thing people also have to remember/realize when determining about how wide the shoulders need to be, especially if your going for realistic human proportions, is the length of the face, and not just the circumference of the head when it comes to male proportions. Generally speaking the width of the shoulders is twice the length of the head.

    12. With Dollshe having such a huge sale, I think I'm finally going to take the (possibly 13-month wait) plunge and order an 18m Mystic body for my Pygmalion Eita *_* I was hoping he'd have a body by December, but I'm picky about muscles and I don't know if I could afford a Dollshe body at regular prices!

    13. @taichas just a heads up, Dollsh changed their colors to be a little pinker and darker. In October 2019 I received a body from Dollshe in pureskin oriental that I was planning to use with a WS Pygmalion head, and the body ended up being much darker than the head. Nothing blushing can't fix, but it was an unpleasant surprise.

    14. I already lightened my 3 Pygmalion heads to match the old Dollshe pure oriental but I would love to know how the new oriental color goes with pygmalion warm ivory if anyone knows.

    15. from backreading on this thread, i found that the pygmalion warm ivory was a little pinker than dollshe copper oriental to begin with, so i'm not super worried because the head is already so peachy toned. thanks for the warning though i appreciate it!!!

    16. Hello friends! I just painted my recently acquired Pygmalion Kyle head and I'm so in love.. He's so beautiful! :D I'm currently trying to decide between a few different Chinese names for him and they are Kang (康 means tranquil or at ease) or Loong (means 龙 dragon or 隆 grand, depending on which character is used) for his name... Would anyone like to help me out? :XD:
