1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

regretting your first doll?

Mar 11, 2020

    1. my first doll is an iplehouse JID-- I regret it solely because he cannot pose for shit. I really dislike the way Iplehouse poses, and until I got my second doll, I thought it was just me being a newbie. Nope, my litle guy cannot pose at all. His arm won't even stay properly bended. finding clothes for the JID boy body is also near impossible, and I can't sew myself. I still have him, and I redid his look when I came out of hiatus, but by God he's only staying for the sentimental value or maybe until I can manage to find a diff body to hybrid him onto (JIDs are notoriously difficult to hybrid also). I will never purchase an IH again.

    2. My first doll was a secondhand Bobobie boy and I don't regret him AT ALL - he's still one of my faves and he's my go-to when I just want to grab one off the shelf to sit and chill with me.

    3. I couldn’t be more happy about my first doll. He’s still so near and dear to my heart, and I think ordering a new doll for my first would have filled me with anxiety over ruining my first ever doll.
I’m much happier to have gotten mine second hand (tho I think the company may have already been gone when I got him).
Not really a regret but I wish I had understood the sizes, as 62cm was HUGE to me as a newbie. That being said with a even bigger doll now on the way, and just about every size you can think of in my collection I think it was better for me to have gotten a bigger doll at first.

    4. I will never regret that I got my first doll at all as it got me started in the hobby and it's one of the best things in my life. I did however back then didn't do my research well and got a doll I did soon after regretted buying. By now I have reshelled the character completely and couldn't be happier with my baby.
It does happen that sometimes we make mistakes and end up regretting purchases. I've had that with full dolls, bodies and heads. Sometimes I thought I'd like it but then the head turned out to be too small and looked odd with the rest of the collection. Reselling them I find quite frustrating so I became a bit more careful with getting new dolls.
Sometimes you have a grail and then you get it and find you don't ever play with them. Those are hard to let go, but sometimes it's necessary

    5. I don't regret any of my dolls, but my first one has a special place in my resin heart... He's a Resinsoul Wu, and I loved him from the moment I saw him, and that hasn't changed.

    6. Not a jot. I love my Hiro (B&G Rin) as much as the day he arrived in 2009. He doesn’t have the mobility of some of my crew but I work with the mobility he has. His smiling face still makes me happy.
