It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Reoccuring themes is your doll family?

Nov 17, 2015

    1. My thing used to be sweet looking big dolls, hence my only two dolls right now essentially being Syo twins. My more recent love is the sculpts with more Asian features, like K-doll anything; I have a Kill_U SP on hold and I think I will be getting a Shinydoll after that.

    2. The trend in my dolls is non-humans. Except for the one based on one of my characters in Dungeons and Dragons, not a one of my characters is fully human. Also, no female head sculpts. Even the dolls that are female started out as male head sculpts.

    3. Hummm, there's no trend in my crew, only maybe that I have only female dolls, and that they are all more or less in casual style, except a few who live in a fantasy world. And I love colours, there are a lot of colours when I dress them up (but sometimes, just white or grey, too).

    4. I'm not sure there's a theme that all my dolls adhere to, but I do lean towards dolls that are anything but happy (favorite expressions being mischievous and sad). Also big lips and overbites! XD

    5. Almost all of my boys have long hair, and like to wear hats a lot. I tend to like cuter, non-realistic sculpts more that realistic ones (Iple for example). However, I don't like eyes which are way too big, chins which seem nonexistent, or really large lips. So far, everyone is pretty pale too!

    6. At the moment some themes I have found reoccurring are.
      -A dark past
-Everyone can be linked to one particular doll character I have
      -They are all girls
-None of them wear "normal clothes" all of them are modeled off some sort of Japanese street fashion
      - Dollzone event dolls

    7. It wasn't intentional but it seems like I favor all dolls that appear East Asian (Chinese, Korean, Japanese..). It's kind of nice to have dolls that actually look like me.

    8. Dark hair.

All of my dolls except for the one in my avatar (Vivien) have dark hair. She is the only blond. THE ONLY one who's blond.

    9. Teenagers or young adults in school who wear skinny jeans. ALL of them.
Seems like a boring and obvious answer maybe, but I've tried to have fantasy dolls or high fashion clothes and it never sticks with me. Jeans are my passion~

    10. So far I've just got boys... I've also only got MSD-and-smaller, but that's more due to the lack of space I have at the moment. I'd want to move before bringing home any really big dolls.

I keep saying 'next, you're going to bring home your first resin girl', and I keep putting more boys up at the top of my wishlist.

Also, Vince is the only one who doesn't look cocky/haughty at most angles... Pete's got a total full-of-himself smirk, my floating head looks %1000 done and better-than-you, and Billy was all cool arrogance before I gave him a freckle-y faceup. (Vince *can* look cocky, but it's not his default expression, he's got a sweet face)

They've all fallen into dressing really cutesy-casual or gender-neutral/non-conforming, too-- boy mini boys-with-bodies wear a lot of pink/purple/sparkles/rainbows/short-shorts, and default to shoulder-length hair, and then Billy's got his dino jammies that just never come off now (and his kitty mary janes)

    11. The main theme with my dolls is different coloured resin and non-human dolls. I don't have any one doll in a matching colour and they are pretty much anthro or monsters or just something all together different! I gravitate towards red, pink and yellow eyes (on I think 6 pairs of yellow eyes at present in varying sizes) and wigs are always white, black or gray (besides the default wigs I have from full sets). I am also currently waiting on a doll based on a planet (CK Moon).

    12. Victorian/Edwardian clothing, smiling (or neutral) sculpts and faceups, child dolls who look and dress like children.

All but two of my SD sized gang are part of the same large extended Victorian/Edwardian family of siblings, half siblings, and cousins, so a theme of dress/style is to be expected however. Three of my MSD's are also part of that family.

I actively try to avoid having them all with green eyes and red hair, so there's less of that than there would otherwise be.

      Teddy

    13. I often to do dark haired dolls. I keep a few lighter wigs for funsies but their primary hair color is usually dark.

And my dolls tend to be mad looking. >_> I want to add one large smiler to the larger dolls I own. The peppy dolls I have are my smaller ones. I fell in love with Dollzone Megi's smirk when I first got into the hobby. I still like it, but I skew more realistic and bigger nowadays.

    14. I've got a few recurring themes... My dolls tend more toward the "stylized" aesthetic than the "realistic," to keep them all fitting together, and tend to have a lot of fantasy-themed sculpts (particularly elven-eared sculpts, though there's also anthros, Soom fantasy creatures, dragons, and one of DZ's weird pokemon-esque creatures).

The unexpected theme for me is "CP/FairyLand Sculpts." When I first joined the hobby, I didn't really care for them overly much, felt they were a bit overhyped and too expensive, and couldn't see them fitting into my collection (which was meant at the time to be all elf/fantasy sculpts), since they were pretty much all human. I did get a PP Pukisha, since the cat face fit in, and my first LTF got a mod to be an elf, with the second being the big Pukisha. Then something happened after that, and now 12 out of 34 dolls are either full or hybrid CP/FL dolls. (For contrast, the next highest representation of any given company are Soom at 3.5, AileenDoll at 3, and ResinSoul, Angel of Dream, and DollPamm at 2 each; no other company has more than one doll in my collection yet.) Not only that, I've got three more full dolls on their way, and plans for even more of them... The me who started this hobby would never have predicted this!

    15. ...it seems to be warrior women, queens, or otherwise intimidating women.

It all started with one of the first dolls that got me into the hobby (although I didn't actually purchase her for quite a long time -- she only joined my collection last year), this fullset that just screams 'imperious elf queen'. The comment that someone left down at the bottom of the page always amused me, because it's so accurate. It says, 'doll! the weirder the better! I collect odd powerful-looking bjd...' I bought Soom Noellia later to be her companion, so of course, that doll is the equally powerful queen of a neighboring elven country, who makes an alliance with her.

Then I set about making a doll version of a cartoon character I really loved growing up, Pixie from Monster Rancher, so I have a demon warrior woman with big leathery bat wings and a cold stare. Aw yiss (:

Then, I have this Elfdoll Mir head that I am planning to give some moderate facial mods and sculpted elf ears (Elfdoll really didn't make all that many......elves....) to become one of my long-running protagonists in my fantasy writing. The character is is handsome rather than beautiful, and older in appearance than most female heads seem to be, so a male head is perfect for her, as I became sure of after seeing SMwoman's beautiful modded Mir twins. I cannot put her together for a while, but it will be awesome.

And my newest purchase is an Elfdoll Bambu and she's probably going to become some sort of barbarian space queen. I really don't know yet.

      Oh my god written out it's more than I realized @--@;;;

    16. Regular humans, all female so far, and I like soft, neutral faceups with no colorful eyeshadow. They all have long hair and I prefer to get them alpaca or Tibetan lamb wigs and have that be their only hair look. I do buy lots of clothing, mostly dresses, but I ordered some pants recently so we'll see how that goes. As far as personalities and talents they are all intelligent, creative types. I don't have stories and only the barest of background info for them.

    17. elf ears whenever possible and a much higher number of red heads than you would find in the general population. the elf ears are deliberate, the red hair just seems to happen.

    18. My running theme I think is strong characters. I have plans for ~15 characters, and there are maybe two of them who are weaker. One of those two has a story arc where he basically has to learn to defend the one person he cares about. I only seem to want characters who can help themselves.

    19. I tend to go for sweet, angelic faces! I love the oldschool sculpts with huge eyes and tiny mouths, and I have a couple, an Angel Elf Soo, Miyu, and a DollGa Noella. I want a DollGa/Leeke Arien and more of the old Delf girls because of that aesthetic. I think I was sold on the MNF Liria because of the face up making her so sweet and wistful. I also like many of the Volks sculpts for their angelic look, but they're so ridiculously expensive!

    20. Aaah, I love seeing redheaded dolls! (It seems like at least 3/4 of the characters I create are redheads, so I'm honestly surprised Vince wound up a brunette...)

Though now I do have as many red wigs as brown, which means Vince could spend a little time as a redhead... join Billy and I in the kingdom of the ginger.
