Resinsoul centaurs!

Agh, DoA stopped alerting me so I didn't see any more replies!

I'd love to share my boy, but his head makes him off-topic. Here's a link to a recent photoshoot of him though. He's finally all blushed and fully dressed!

 

Could anybody take a closer picture of the tail for me? Also, how is it strung to the body? I'm gonna get one of these guys eventually (probably Winter) and am debating between keeping it a deer or maybe seeing if I could make a horse tail for him.

I love all of your deers, they're all so different!

 

@Capistrono I don't have a picture (deer at home and not here), but it isn't strung; it's a solid piece of resin attached to the body that doesn't move. Iirc, it's also fairly tiny, but I think a horse tail /could/ work if you were willing to build on the base a little.

 

Well, I am just about all set to order one of these darlings, and am already super impressed with how quickly Resinsoul answers questions. The only thing holding me back is wondering if there's an upcoming event (since last time I ordered a doll, I wound up putting in the order right before an event started, and kicking myself for it). But augh, excitement!

I'm still trying to decide exactly how she'll be styled when she arrives and looking at different owner pics in the meantime (everyone's little deertaurs are so cute!)

 

Thanks for the info! It seems really tiny in all the pictures, that's why I'm considering making a horse tail. I love the idea of a deertaur, but the tail seems a little insignificant on the sculpt, I wish it was bigger. I may just wait until I order and see the doll in person, and then decide.

It does! I love her spots and the underside of her tail! I'll probably wait until I see one in person, but this picture is pretty adorable, maybe I'll keep him a deer.

 

Oh, wow! Awe, all the centaurs are really, really neat-o. I just sent an e-mail to ResinSoul about getting one for my son as an xmas gift. I asked them about one with dark tan deer body, coffee human part and dark tan translucent antlers. I think that would be pretty cute. His vision for this little fella includes a 'ratty' tangled wig with bits of twigs and moss in it. I think I should be able to pull that off for him, but I work so slowly!!!

Maybe I have missed it in my search, but, is there a pic spam thread or a database for these precious little fellas???

Thank you for all of the info on these guys. I'm really excited to be able to gift this to my son and help him with the customization. He should fit in well with his Pi dragon and mnf Karsh elf. Does anyone know a place to find a bow that would fit them? I'm pretty sure I could make a quiver myself and maybe even a sort of little back pack too.

Again, thanks to all of you for sharing pics and info, it helped us make a decision very easily.

 

@mollym I'm afraid I don't know of any 1/6 bows... my sister is planning on making her own since she hasn't been able to find one, but if I do see one around I'll be sure to let you know. (I love the idea of a wig with mossy/twiggy bits in it-- it does sound appropriate for a little deertaur!) I imagine these guys really would get along well with a Pi dragon, too.

 

Thanks! I had a bit of an epiphany and remembered there's a plethora of action figure accessories so I think I will try that. I've a dozen projects in progress now but hoped to get his gift in order asap once it comes home. I think making one would be really fun! The wig should be fun, once we get started I will make sure it is shared here. Thanks for the warm welcome!

 

Sounds like a terrific vision for the deertaurs! In prep for my Realfees, I kept some thin branches when I was trimming a shrub last fall and my husband helped me shape a few bows. I also showed him my vision of a crossbow, using some metal hair clips, and he made those for me too.

 

What EXACTLY do the deers come with? Do they all come with antlers and magnetic butterflies? There is no info on the site.

 

@Chehime the butterflies are definitely an optional extra that you have to specifically ask for. I'm not sure about the antlers though, they might be included with the ones pictured with one?

Yep! In order to get a custom colour combination, you have to place an order via email. The ones straight from the site (or dealers) will be one single colour. So if you'd like a version with antlers, butterflies, and multiple colours, it's necessary to email Sun about it!
If you're ordering a body alone (as I did), you'll definitely need to specify that you want the antlers/butterflies.

Those butterflies are really, really precious. Maybe when I get around to ordering myself a Mei, I will add some to the cart. I've ordered from Resin Soul directly before and I'm glad to do it again. I found my e-mail message had a response in less than 24 hours and they even sent an invoice to my paypal as I included that address as well as my home address so they could calculate shipping charges. Now, I keep my fingers crossed that the little cervitaur gets home in time for Christmas. His sculpt name is so appropriate for being an intended gift. I hope he's as cool as I think he is, I may even have one on my own wish list before we know it.

 

Well, the order has been put in! My Autumn will arrive about a month late for my actual birthday, but her arrival can just be Birthday 2: Cervitaur Boogaloo.

I'm pretty excited, I must have sketched her 20-50 times already just trying to figure out styling and such... But I think of all my dolls, just based on other people's experience, she'll have the shortest turnaround.
