I can't wait until I get all my stuff and my dolls shipped down to my new place, I want to work on my little deerlet who I have finally given a name to (Ashla). I want to make her something with white fur and glitter. Maybe white fur "leg warmers" on all of her ankles or something too and then some sparkly hair crystals and such
they certainly spark the imagination - and problem-solving, lateral type thinking! oooh yes legwarmers are on my 'to do' list as well - I saw a pic ages ago when I had my Luts Yul, and they do look so cute on centaur-type creatures - next best thing to shoes!
Ahh, that's a good idea-- I've done a lot of sketches to try and figure out centaur body-type clothing, but I should look at what other people have come up with, too.
oh wow I love instant gratification! Although it was preceded by months of self control (got almost to checkout so many times though LOL) My camera hated the lighting this morning - but there are more pics on my flickr. I am thrilled to bits with this doll! So impressed by my first Resinsoul, from the free doll carrier to the quality of the doll - fantastic. I was surprised how big and weighty this 'tiny' is too - there's a pic on my flickr with my hand in just to show size. I'm used to getting dolls this tightly strung so it is fine by me - seems perfect. Hot glue sueding on the front hips, the shoulders and elbows is definitely going to help though! If the front leg knee joints were double jointed it would be even better, but as it is, for the money it's incredible I didn't find her such a sturdy stander as everyone else says though - thankfully she didn't fall when I left her to shut the curtains AGAIN (never complain about sunshine in November though!) but I was a bit daft leaving her like that - won't do it again and think I was lucky that time. She sits lovely though, which I didn't expect - I was wondering how to display her safely, and it seems this pose suits her fine (I've twisted the deer belly joint around). I love the antlers too - in fact I love everything about this doll Juniper by elve, on Flickr
I used coated florist wire for the legs and arms. She's been standing solid for close to 3 weeks now, in my glass cabinet until I find some time for her again. I'm currently knitting a few sweaters and dresses, so might get her out to see if anything will fit her. I'm mostly working on clothes for my realfee right now but one sweater came out slightly too big and fits my littlefee, so will probably fit her as well.
I've not tried wiring any of my dolls El BJD - I'll have to give it a go as small dolls really seem to need it! I found another neat way to seat Juniper (or Jupiter - not sure yet!) if you have a stool for them to sit on - sorry the lighting is so awful in this pic - as soon as I finished uploading and editing everything of course the light was perfect There's little nubs inside the back leg knee joint, which keep the leg stiff, so you need to pull and bend it rather than just bend it - I don't think they'll stand up to a huge amount of wear and tear. The lower torso joint in the human body is not a functional joint, just seems to join the bodies together with no mobility itself. nov9 by elve, on Flickr
thanks Nefla she's in the normal resin - my camera was objecting to the light this morning! I'm now trying to figure out what kind of wig and eyes I want for him/her
My Spring arrived today. she is so cute *-* I got a queston. The magnets in the horns are fine until i get her a wig. then the horns try to fall off *-* Am I'm the only one having this problems?
Same problem here. In fact, I put the antlers away last month when I was expecting company and now can't find them! gaaaa
Congrats! I haven't had that problem, but I haven't used them much. When I have, it's with my Leekeworld wig and I try to burrow the antlers into it so that they are as close to the base as I can get them. Hope this helps...
Same here, though I didn't know I would be getting antlers since I ordered a Bei head instead of one of the special deer heads so I didn't have any plans for them anyway >.<
I don't have one of these cuties (yet!), but I've had a similar issue with other dolls with head-magnets. I solved it on my LTF by putting an extra set of magnets on top of the headcap, then putting the wig on, and then fixing her extra parts in place. The extra magnets make up for the pull that the original ones lose from passing through both the resin and the wig, and help keep the pieces in place.
Juniper still has no wig - I don't have any other tinies except an off-topic hujoo, so she'll have to wait for a wig! She is definitely a girl though - when she spontaneously took on this pose, and gave me that look, I thought oh yes - she's a girl! (in spite of the antlers!) juniper2 by elve, on Flickr
Well, some types of deer, the females grow antlers (at least, reindeer do), so I think it works. That is a cute pose-- Juniper looks like such a darling, even without a wig yet.
Thank you! well I never knew that about reindeer - I love the antlers anyway, although yet to try them with a wig - but yes I am SO impressed with this doll - it's beautifully engineered and finished - truly a quality doll at an amazing price Prefer her to my Luts Yul I had as she's just so much easier to handle at this size - but still big enough to have quite a presence! She's totally stealing the show in this photo Little Family Nov 16 by elve, on Flickr

@elve She looks very at home already with all the others-- and I agree, she has a way of pulling the spotlight! @OMFGPENGUINS Aaah, so cute! That pose with one hoof crossed in front of the other is so precious... I hope the second sewing try works out-- a little hooded cloak sounds like a really good fit. Just the sort of thing a little deer person would wear on a walk through the woods when it's chilly out, I imagine.
