Thank you so much, you two! I decided to stick with colours that they already offer so I would have a general idea of what to expect. On an unrelated note, I plan to add some freckles to his face at some point.
Drawing over the company photo like that to plan is a great idea! I might try that for my incoming project boy.
I have been making mockups for years and I highly recommend it! They are especially helpful when I'm unable to visualize what a doll will look like in a certain style, or when I'm struggling to choose between multiple ideas for said doll. Mockups can make the planning process so much easier!
At Yuna's suggestion, I did a messy mockup of my Nian! Spoiler This is Harlequin, my phoenix griffin centaur. :> Wings will be replaced with articulated feather wings, his body will be wrapped in faux fur, tail I'm going to completely remake, and I may even attempt a total ear reconstruction. He just arrived today and will be needing maintenance such as restringing and probably sueding. And they also forgot to include his horn, which I wasn't planning on using for him anyways but I was going to use it on another one of my dolls. >.<
That looks great! It sounds like it will be quite a lot of work, but I'm sure it will be completely worth it! I'm sorry to hear that they forgot his horn... Perhaps they would still be willing to send one if you contacted them about it?
Sorry to reawaken the thread but I just ordered my first brand new BJD (Resinsoul Winter) and I've seen a few unboxings where they come with randomly selected eyes. Is that only from specific sellers? Just incase they don't then what eyes would they wear?
I believe they are 12mm, but I don't have easy access to my dolls right now, nor my son's collection. I hope someone else can weigh in.

its been so quiet here for so long woahhh anyways I've been looking through here after falling in love with the winter Sculpt which I plan to purchase in the spring! glad to know that I can do custom colors (especially since the minute I saw the sculpt my mind started working and I've got a full blown story behind this charecter now) will send updates when I make the purchase and when she arrives!!
if i've got this right based of earlier answers in the thread the eyes are either 12 mm or 14 mm (will probably go for 14 mm so the iris shows up bigger in her socket and looks more inhuman) while the right wig size is 5-6
What do we do when we're blue at lunch for no discernible reason? Work on painting deer baby. fawn by Cryptic Cryptid, on Flickr I added the philtrum and upper lip lines, and I'm not sure if I like then. May remove and redo the pastels on the lip for the third time. On the plus side, this is the best humanoid faceup I've ever done.
