Right up their skirts... for some strange reason...

Jun 4, 2007

    1. People perhaps look up the skirt out of curiosity? If you tell someone, "Yeah, she's anatomically correct," they'll probably want to see proof.

That and, perhaps they feel that it's okay because it's "just a doll" to them.

    2. My sister just stared at Sasabe's anatomically correct thing, and then said "Oh. He has a weiner." (Note:She did not actually say "weiner". xDD) Then she put him down and walked off like nothing happened. I swear, I thought I felt an air of confusion coming from Sasabe. He looked more confused and awkward then enraged at my sister commenting nonchalantly about his thing. xDDDD

    3. I embarrassed Icarus. I brought him with me to work and one of the professors really wanted to see him as I had been talking about him for ages and I had mentioned they were anatomically correct. She REALLY wanted to see so I pulled his pants open just enough for her to peek in. She thought it was hilarious... Icarus... was not amused...

    4. omfg

every. time. I take a doll to my therapist. The FIRST thing she does is look under the clothes. im like "Why am I here again?!" XD

she always wants to see if its anatomically correct. i figured by now she'd have learned that they are lol

      Though I second CCKitty...

...my dolls definitely are never amused as she is XD

    5. I agree with this! I guess that I have been guilty of the same thing when handling dolls. I want to see if they have undies on, LOL! After all, an outfit isn't complete without them!

Even my 4 year old grandson INSISTED on having his bear wear the tightie whities (yes, they DO sell them!) underneath the Darth Vader costume he put on his Build-a-Bear workshop bear! He is even more OCD than me about it, apparently, hehe.

    6. Not many people have seen my doll = hasn't happened yet. Thankfully.

However, I'm certain that when my new doll arrives and I take her around a bit, this will being occurring... urgh. Can't wait(!)

This happened to my dolls when I was a kid though. I liked the dresses and underskirts, but most of my dolls had "consttucted" pants, that were a part of them, so, not much of a problem with the awkwardness there.

I guess one reason why this happens might even be because people are a bit used to dolls that are not "corrent" so as soon as you mention that they are, people ant to check that against their own version of normalcy.

    7. lol this happened to me! a friend was looking at my dolls, and they picked up my girl and had a peek! i asked why they decided to look up her dress? they told me that they couldnt believe the clothes were so detailed they wanted to see if they actually thought of undies too!
i thought it was funny as i was the one who dressed her and i wouldnt have forgot her panties! lol

i think its just some people dont believe how realistic these dolls are so they automatically want to look to see if they are wearing undies, or have the parts in the private areas!

i never thought until she did that to mine that anyone would want to look up a dolls dress! im glad im not the only one who has had that! lol

    8. I've done this before. Not to look for "junk", but to look at the joints, and the sculpt, of a body I was thinking of getting (and thank God I did--I didn't like what I saw at all!). These dolls we have are anatomically correct in more ways than their delicate ares, and I think a lot of people want to see the sculpts-and skirts especially just hide everything.

On the other hand, I have had someone strip my boy's pants off, which I thought was very rude. He doesn't exactly have the issue of hiding under excess fabric. So I guess it just depends. Not everyone is like that though.

    9. I don't really mind... It's a natural curiosity since they're so lifelike and detailed in every other way I guess :>
My friend who touched, though, after discovering the doll has a vagina, is no longer allowed anywhere near her. :x

    10. Usually I ask first if I can handle the doll. I do look up skirts - like to see what panties they have on - especially if they are well dressed. I check to see if it is bloomers or panties. I won't undress the doll without permission and if said owner says no to handling doll - I respect that. Mostly it is barbie types and baby doll types seeing I don't know anyone else except my sister who owns bjd dolls. I think it is a natural curiosity on our part.

    11. To be honest I've seen pics of the dolls naked I doubt I'd be lifting anyone's Xue's skirts or pantsing a Dragon Uncle doll but other people well...I'd be more worried about where their hands have been! *shudder* I don't mean to sound like a germaphobe but I hate it when random people touch my stuff in public. I'd like to give everyone at a dollmeet the benefit of the doubt of clean hands but I don't trust the sneezing person about to pick up someone's Spiritdoll to pants them.

    12. That sounds like such a little boy thing to do. Little boys always look up the skirts of dolls when they get their hands on them and I don't know why. They're just naturally curious about what's under skirts.

    13. I remember people doing this to my babydolls when I was little, as well as my barbie and bratz dolls. They could be looking at how well the clothing was made, what the doll is made of (since these were babydolls, many of them have cloth bodies so they could be checking that), so-on so-forth.

It wouldn't bother me much as long as they're handling the doll carefully and not holding it in awkward ways...

    14. LoL.. this is a fun thread! Here's what I have noticed.. non-doll people have no 'respect' for dolls and they tend to manhandle them. Absolutely, yes, to the looking up the skirt and while it annoys me, I shut my mouth and let them discover whatever it is they are looking for.. As long as it isn't 'scratch and sniff'.. Sometimes we forget that we are animals too and have rough and untamed curiosities and urges. Think of it as dogs sniffing each other's butts or something like that.. *dies laughing*.. :o

    15. Kurin--bjds do Not have vaginas. That is internal anatomy, found on sex dolls.

Our female dolls have a symbol of labia, external anatomy.

    16. Up-skirting or pantsing - if someone tried to do that to any of my dolls, I'd be pretty angry. I never see the appeal in it. I can understand if someone sees a stain somewhere, and they have to move the skirt or pants to help get at it, but that's it.

So far, no one has done this to any of my dolls, but I keep the anatomically correct discussion out of the conversation. I feel that there's way too many other things to discuss about these dolls than anatomy.

    17. Luckily I have not had this happen! I would probably slap whoever tried to look up one of my girls skirts though. People don't do that to woman walking down the street do they!? I sure hope not! :|

Yes, it's rude. But everyone wants to see! If people ask me if my BJDs are anatomically correct, I say yes. Then I usually say, "But if I show you his, you have to show him YOURS."

I am MUCH more hesitant to tell people how much they cost.

    19. OoO it isn't too big of a deal for me. If someone is curious, I don't mind them exploring and finding out more about the dolls. The only doll I wouldn't want them to do that with is our yo-sd, Rain. She's just so innocent. I don't want people looking up her dress.

    20. Curiosity. It's not a big deal to me and I don't find it rude if someone wanted a closer look at any thing. I might look at -them- a bit slanted in the you-DO-realize-what-you're-asking way, but that's all.
