1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Ringdoll Grown Dolls, thread #9

Jan 29, 2021

    1. i have some nendoroid dolls and they are abs+pvc so i'm betting it'll be a possibility of the seamlines showing and shiny-ish without any form of sealant on (unless rd will pre-seal them). However, its seems that they are confident in saying it can be blushed, based on the info from their taobao page and their reply to me on their en site!

on the other hand, given that its pvc, I won't be too pressured to be super delicate with them and gladly will let it do its work--blushing these might require a different set of primer so its going to be interesting. i got two pairs though still a pre-sale as i missed the spot/in stock sale this midnight. i'm gonna ask feedback from my friend in cn if she manages to get her pair early~

    2. @Alex Secord Designs - Ringdoll has released resin jointed hands in previous years, I have a pair. They're not terrible, but they're not the best in the world either. My pair are from 2016(?) so could probably use some wiring to help them hold things. They pose well enough, but can't carry any weight.

I'm super curious to see how these PVC hands will go over time. I'd be worries about differing yellowing-rates and possible difficulties painting them with the usual tools.

    3. Huh it says they fit all their grown dolls, but i wonder what the scale is like with the different bodies because there's quite a range of sizes!

    4. That's a good point! The 03 and 05 bodies are massive compared to the 04.

    5. Maybe they have a standard size for all the big dolls? My 04 body has hands that are a little big, like a rough image, and the extra hands that came with Xie Lian are more delicate, like his body. But I don't have the other 2 bodies to compare.

    6. I wish RD offered faceups for non-full set dolls. Seems like every doll I look at, the only way to get them with a faceup is to also get an outfit/wig/eyes/etc I won't have any use for :sigh

    7. For economic purposes, I would like them to do it too :sweat Another option would be to ask for a nude doll with a dealer like LegendDoll who offer a faceup with their personal artist but I have no knowledge of how the result is

    8. Hey, does anyone know if the foot sizes on all of the Ringdoll Grown dolls are the same? Or do they use different foot molds/sizes?

    9. They're different. My Sun Ce (on the 5 body) arrived with a broken ankle and I bought a foot here on the MP and it was for a smaller body. Now that might just be because it's a 5-the other ones may be able to switch.

    10. Yes all the Grown feet fit each of the 68-72cm bodies.

    11. I just took the time to measure all of my dolls and compare the measurements that are posted online, and let me know if anyone else has noticed this. For Hua Cheng who’s on the RGM 5 body, RingDoll’s website/acbjd/cloversinging etc say his shoulder width is 16cm. I didn’t think that was correct since I have a 68cm boy with 15cm shoulders and Hua Cheng is way bigger. His shoulder width measured closer to 19cm. Do you think it was an error? Or a different way of measuring? This makes things complicated for planning hybrids as you can imagine

    12. Could they have been measuring just the torso shoulder parts, not including the upper balls of the arms that connect onto the shoulders...? Could totally be wrong, but that's the only idea I can figure out for why there would be such a big difference. I can see a difference of one cm being a normal mistake, but 3 cm seems like a lot. It does also seem like too little to be the balls of the arms too though...

Thank you! Then I can set to work making shoes for the lucky bag I got. Since I don't know body yet, I'm holding off on making clothes, but I'm glad I can at least work on shoes.

    13. I realised it too. I measured my Sun Ce (RGM body 5) way back when he arrived and wondered if I was crazy. I think it depends on how you measure it, but for me, the shoulders are more 18cm-ish than 16cm. I can't imagine how it became 16cm officially...:sweat

    14. The measurement of the torso at the top of the shoulder is 16cm. Not the place I would measure!

    15. Wow! :aeyepop: I would have never imagined that...

      Thanks for solving the mystery!:thumbup

    16. Here's a picture! Distance between the little blue lines is 16cm.

    17. Oh wow! I never knew that, thanks!!

    18. Ah, that's what I thought! I just didn't describe it well, haha.

    19. I've noticed some companies measurements include the upper arms in that measurement and some stop at the joint :/

    20. I got another photo of Ash and his newly discovered cousin Jade. It's been a long night of getting to know each other.
