Ringdoll Grown Dolls, thread #9

Don't have anywhere to display my Demon Slayer BJDs for now, so they're currently sitting on my desk until I move. Because I have no Tanjiro or Sabito BJD, they have the plushies.

 

Has anyone seen the release date ( = 2023 / 06 / ?? ) for the new Wei Wuxian?
Unfortunately it is not completely readable on the second picture @NuttyRojita posted here.

Hi! Can anybody tell me if Luts Grand Senior Delf clothes are fit for 05 body? I'd like to buy some modern outfits.

 

Looking at the measurements, the Grand Senior Delf seems bigger than the 05 body. So if you bought the clothes, they’d probably run a little big. Could probably be fixed by some tailoring, though!

I don't know of any places that specifically sell clothes to fit the RGM5 body the way you might find some labelled for idealian or other larger company dolls. Your best bet is always going to be to check the measurements.

 

Your best bet may be commissioning someone who has the RGM-5, or is familiar with tailoring to sizes they may not own. If you're interested, I may be able to help you out, but there are also plenty of other super talented seamsters/seamstresses in the marketplace!

 

In case someone is wondering when Wei Wuxian will be sold: according to Legenddoll, the official sale starts from 21st June.
I was suprised that the poster in the exhibition said 12th June and yet there was no news... oh well, still, I can't wait to buy him.

 

Hmm maybe the 12th was his intended release date overseas, or a limited release? I think Hua Cheng was also sold in some places before his full release.

 

Speaking of Hua Cheng, does anyone else's feel unstable? Or am I just really bad at posing him? He feels so top heavy that no matter what I do he won't stand on his own, and even on a stand, he's tipped once (luckily without much force so the cabinet door didn't open so I was able to fiddle with it and he seems to be staying in place now)

 

My Hua Cheng luckily hasn't fallen, but he wobbles slightly whenever anyone walks by the bookshelf he and Xie Lian live on.

 

RD bodies in general I find have some stability issues to some degree. I put on some kips on Huahua's joints to help reduce his kick factor lol. So far he has only toppled once in my cabinet without any support!

I think 21st is the official China release, based on what I know from the QQ chat for RD. Likely BB site will have it on sale first too, before TB and the rest of us. I recall they are doing a promotion event for some small freebies leading to the sale date (a fan etc among other merch).

I am crossing fingers for everyone trying to get him directly in CN and they get WWX!

 

Have more images of Wei Wuxian been released, or just teasers? I don't plan on getting him (I'm so glad I'm not a big MDZS fan, I don't have the budget for that...) but I'm really curious to see what he looks like. I saw the video they released on Instagram, and it looks like he has jointed hands- does that mean he'll come with jointed hands, and/or resin jointed hands, or was it just for the video?

 

That makes me feel a little better that I'm not just terrible at getting them to stay upright. I'll have to look into getting some kips or something for him, and maybe Xie Lian too, because he's only a little bit better.

 

I've only seen the teasers, but I'm also curious what he looks like in full! The jointed hands he's shown with i think are the pvc ones instead of strung resin ones. I saw some people on twitter saying they didn't look very nice xD

 

So, uh.. For anyone interested, RD is apparently holding a re-release for Hua Cheng, but only for 3 days to celebrate his birthday.

 

I looked at that but the only option I see to order him is without face-up? Does Ringdoll not sell their stuff with face-ups? (Looking at their taobao page)
