Ringdoll Grown Dolls, thread #9

Since it's now the 14th, I think the sale unfortunately ended. The fullset doll does include the face-up, but I'm not sure if they have leftovers from the 10-13 selling period. They did the same thing with Xie Lian, it's almost a criminally short ordering period, especially for such an expensive doll.

 

Yeah the sale ended the 13th, and if you're looking on Taobao, depending on where you are located, that may have been the 12th for you, since they're located in China.

 

Oooh the new light tan color with the rerelease of Zhao Yun is so pretty!! I hope they'll make that an available option for all their dolls instead of just white or normal.

Wow, he looks great! I like him way better than the original Wei Wuxian imo. Since he’s advertised with the jointed hands, I wonder if he’ll be sent with both the jointed hands and the normal static resin hands.

 

Yeah I definitely think he's prettier than the first WWX bjd! I'm curious about the hands too

 

Wei Ying looks good but, is like looking at those dolls in Aliexpress that look like Xiao Zhan, I'm not into slash so it's quite a turn-off for me. MDZS have a lot of official content, tons and tons of official art from which they could have adapted the doll, like what they did for Hua Cheng, he's a piece of art really, if one is beside the other they are gonna look weird. I know "The Untamed" has a big fandom and some people will like him, or didn't watch the live action, that's fair too, and liked the doll because of his good looks, but for me, it's a "No". I would have gone for a more fictional official look

Totally agree, I hope it's here to stay, and I imagine that they will see the profitability of this color with the sales of this version, I hope it goes well, a friend of mine is already interested in him and on that color

 

I personally don't think he looks that much like the actor from the Untamed, though I can see how he might. I think they just did a much more detailed/ realistic faceup than they did on the older one. Looking at pictures of the older one, I always thought the face-up wasn't doing as much for him as it could've been to bring out the details of the sculpt more. Luckily for me, my wallet is safe either way with this one, since wangxian are my least favorites of the three novels xD

 

I think to take him, but I see in him Luo Binghe. Wanna have this guys too

 

Ooh, wonderful point, he'd make a great Luo Binghe! Just slap the demonic seal on the forehead and you've got him. I doubt Ringdoll will make em at this point (I feel like they would have at least teased the concept in the comments of the other MXTX dolls, like they did with Hua Cheng for instance), so we have to make do.

I want to add him to my ragtag gang os SVSSS dolls

 

He would make a great Luo Binghe!

 

The new version of Wei Wuxian looks really beautiful. I like this version a lot better than the old one.
I'm afraid I'll have to buy that one and the new version by Lan Wangji as well.

i had to gird my loins (and wallet) for him. HE IS BEAUTIFUL and I can 100000% see why he is RD's new darling.

 

With all the talk of remakes, it scares me to think of a newer Xie Lian version. I would cry. if it happened
i will sell my future children for svsss dolls though. But alas, i have a different sculpt ready for Bingqiu.

 

I'd be a little surprised if they made a new Xie Lian. It made sense for Wei Wuxian for the Yiling Patriarch version, but Xie Lian stays the same. I guess a crown prince version is possible, with more extreme makeup and a new outfit? I'd expect a San Lang more than a new Xie Lian, though.

 

at this point they gotta milk the franchise for what its worth lmao (hello, GSC). I'm hopeful that my wallet is safe (from Ringdoll, but probably not from their competitors)

A San Lang would be cute...at one point I even considered baby Huahua .... are RD people reading here (please don't look and get ideas haha!)

We must send lots of support for everyone who will get the wangxian pair though!

 

Good point. I'm surprised GSC hasn't done more, as someone whose main fandom is Demon Slayer, one of their favorite things to milk. I'm worried that Ringdoll will make more TGCF stuff because I'll be tempted! I don't need another Xie Lian, or another Hua Cheng, but at the same time, I do...
