Ringdoll Grown Dolls, thread #9

I have flown in a while, but I think most large doll carriers are larger than carry on restrictions. I do remember someone essentially folding a large doll to fit in a carry on bag. You basicly need to loosen the elastic so you can bring te knees up to the chest. It is best if the bag will fit undr the seat.

 

Yeah... I was able to use a random BJD bag I found for cheap on eBay on flights that was super tall but skinny, so it probably flew under the radar for carry on bags. The big old Ringdoll bag would probably be too big to fly under the radar, especially since it can be put on wheels like a suitcase.

 

I feel this. I'd love a Ringdoll in tan but the only two I've seen are Oshu and Akamai, but I don't like Akamai's face sculpt...

I think this ver looks pretty better then 1st, interesting if they will make another ver of HC?

 

If they're making this version of Xie Lian, I assume they'll probably make a San Lang version of Hua Cheng, since he's in the donghua for most of it and this is in collab with the donghua.

I can't tell if this is a new face sculpt or the same one with a less stylized faceup, but I agree, he looks prettier. Even though i like the faceup the 1st one has in general.

I wonder if he's the same face sculpt? Looks like he may be, just different faceup. I want him, but I don't think I'll be able to get him now that I'm living on a college student budget... he's gonna be pricey for sure.

 

Yeah i can't quite tell if the sculpt is the same but it looks pretty close. And yeah with that outfit he's going to be so expensive T_T I definitely won't be able to get him when student loan payments start up again unless it's another long layaway :/ If it is the same sculpt, i really hope they'd let us just buy the outfit. The original XL isn't even that old!

 

Agreed! XL was first made in 2021 I think, two years for a new version is nothing! I was expecting this after the MDZS dolls, as well as how well Hua Cheng sold, it is probably a good business move for them. But it hurts for the fans who probably won’t be able to pull together USD 800+ to buy him! I’m coping hard, haha. I don’t need him, I don’t need him…

 

Yeah the 1st release of XL was only 2 years ago almost exactly!

I hope they'll release more pictures and information soon. Maybe whatever they say will help make not getting him easier to manage lol

 

Agreed. Like I won't get him if he's on a taller body than the RGM-4 for sure, so I'm almost hoping that they have put him on a different body... they probably haven't though, since Ringdoll respects the Hualian height difference.

 

I was thinking the same thing, since they seem to like the 75 cm body for all their recent releases xD

 

I've noticed that too! If they made a Xie Lian on the 75 cm body, imagine how tall Hua Cheng would be...

 

I've hybridded other dolls and I don't have little Monica so I can't help. I recommend posting a more general question? And there are comparisons available. Although the Internet told my fairyland and myou white would be perfect and even though it's close, my head is still a bit lighter than the body.


Also I didn't know Ringdoll had carying cases. I am still looking. I was thinking about getting the one from dollmore but I have no idea whether Ringdoll boys will fit it. Up until now I folded them and put them in my laptop bag. XD with towels and stuff.

 

The Dollmore one will not fit!!! At least not properly. My RGM 4 boys get squished but barely fit one, my RGM 5 boy has no hope of fitting, even alone. The build quality was also underwhelming for the price, it's already falling apart. Oh that looks better than the dollmore one. I'm so glad I didn't get it then!! If it isn't in stock on taobao I have no idea how bhiner can do it. Maybe it'll be restocked soon? XD if you're getting it I'm curious about your reviews. This looks like a very useful one with wheels.

 

That’s what I’m wondering too! I’m holding off on getting it because I’m starting uni soon and need to save money, and I’ll assume shipping will be insane because of the sheer size. I might get it eventually though, in which case I’ll update y’all on how it works.
